So i made an appointment on Sunday online for a 7:30am for oil change and it says that will call me back. I wasn't expecting them to call me back on Monday since it was the holiday. So instead i came over here and check. So the service guy that opened at 7:30 today i tokd him saying i made an appointment for today at 7:30am and he told me i was suppose to get a call back, but instead he said wait 20 mins and I'll check the system if theirs an opening. Well I've been here like 30 mins and no response back. So in this case service is pretty bad. read more

I bought my car from Perry Motors a few years back and the salespeople are great. Throughout the whole life of my car I have ONLY brought it to their service department for maintenance, which has been adequate. However, the service department NEVER calls you back. PERIOD. "We'll call you when your car is ready" -- LIE. "We'll call you when your parts come in so we can schedule an appointment" -- ANOTHER LIE!! "Our phone lines to service are busy, I'll have them call you when they're free" -- YET ANOTHER LIE!! You'd think these guys didn't know how to use a phone unless it's to leave it off the hook! I expect phone calls not being returned from an ex-girlfriend, not from a business that's making money off me. I've put up with this long enough. I've used this shop four times. Every repair estimate I've gotten from Ronnie the Service Manager has been lowballed. He then goes into contortions telling you that you needed two fragistates, or a rebuilt turbo valve, or new plug wires; whatever he can make up. Twice I've had to bring the car back after it was fixed. After a wheel alignment my car was vearing to the left unless I held the wheel. The other time they had overfilled my oil. If you go here and they change your oil, please check the level when it's done--more than a few friends in town have had a similar experiences. Too much oil can ruin your engine. This shop fully takes advantage of being the only Toyota dealer in town. Avoid unless your car breaks down in front of the shop. Good news is that the parts department and office staff are nice--that's why the one star! read more

Best dealership around and they made buying a new vehicle (2017 Honda Civic) a pleasure!!! Chuck was a great salesman and was wiling to work with us on price and let us test drive as many vehicles as we wanted with no pressure. Once we agreed on a price the buying process flew by. I've had my car serviced at Perry Motors for the past decade. The service guys are always fair, knowledgeable, and quick. Yesterday, I bought a new car from Perry Motors, and the process was outstanding. I worked with Alfredo from start to finish. He got me the exact car I wanted at the price I wanted to pay and did so quickly, especially considering the whole global pandemic and craziness at the ports and whatnot. Anyway, he was helpful, honest, and responsive. Shopping around at other dealerships, there seemed to be huge deviations in how pricing was generated. Most places listed a line item on the price that is effectively a very significant dealer mark up. Not so with Alfredo and the local crew at Perry Motors. Signing was quick and easy with the entire delivery process taking about 30 minutes. The whole deal from online inquiry to pulling away from the dealership was easy and hassle-free. And as it turned out my son also was looking for a vehicle, same brand as we were looking for, they found what he wanted too! Both were delivered to us within the week. Expect to be ripped off. I had a recent issue with my car not going into reverse. Despite taking car in at 8am I had not received a return call by 5pm same day. So I called and was told they were very busy and would need about 2 hours to diagnose the problem. They would get to it as soon as possible but didn't know when that would be. Having another question I called back around 8:30 the next morning and was told the transmission was toast and it would need to be replaced - at a cost of up to $3500. At that point I called a transmission shop for a second opinion. They picked up the car themselves and fixed it the same day for $200. The problem was a simple wear issue in the linkage. The issue is between 5pm one day and 8am the next how did they managed the "2 hour diagnoses". They didn't even take the time to actually do any work to diagnose the problem, they simply took me for a sucker and came up with the most expensive remedy (remember service advisors are on commission) and hoped I'd bite. Inform yourself before accepting a diagnosis from Perry's service department, and be prepared to advocate for your car (otherwise expect long waits for updates that may lack relevant information if you don't ask). They have a lot of leverage if you're from out of town and broken down (high repair prices; few second opinions; travel time pressures). Like another reviewer here said, it's not clear if the service team is incompetent or dishonest, but we were led to believe we needed a $5500 transmission when just clearing the codes got the car running fine again (they still charged $110 to accept our towed car, read and clear the codes). The service team knew we were trying to get home ASAP, and while they did take the time to read the error codes right away (which we appreciated), they didn't tell us their diagnosis until we showed up in person to ask for updates. They told us the initial indications were a bad transmission, which would take 1-2 weeks to repair. What they did NOT tell us was that clearing the codes had removed all the error messages and that the car was now running fine. Thankfully, we'd had a very similar issue a year ago, and our [excellent] local mechanic told us about the code clearing trick (If you look online, you'll see that older Prius models sometimes have aux battery issues that throw up a bunch of error lights when discharged and won't let you drive until the codes are cleared, even after you jump the battery, which we had already done. We'd told Perry's about this in detail, and they still told us the issue was our transmission). After thinking about our options, we went back to Perry's and asked them to clear the codes. We wanted to see if the car ran OK so we could at least get it home (5 hours away). Only then did we discover that they'd *already* done so, found the car working, and not told us. Our Prius has quite low mileage for its year, so it's not clear whether the immediate recommendation to fix the transmission for 5.5K without mentioning that the car was running again was a poorly informed diagnosis or a tactic to pressure us into selling a used car with good resale value to them (their check-in area prominently displayed material talking about the benefits of selling your car to them). Thankfully, by being proactive, we were able to get our car back, minus $110, and drive it home over the mountains without any issues. A narrow escape from a pricey situation that probably wouldn't have actually fixed our car. read more

From the time I started looking at new trucks to the day I purchased my truck Curt Corporon has been awesome at answering any questions or concerns I've had right away. Even though it's been 2 years since I bought my truck every time I'm at Perry motors curt makes it a point to see how I've been and to make sure anything I need is taken care of. If you ever need to order parts or just have a general question about something on your car or truck Alberto at the parts counter is on it! When I've needed something ordered he has it for me the next day which is awesome. When I've taken my truck in for service to getting a custom alignment,Brett and the service techs have been awesome. Overall my experience has been great at perry motors and the crew they have is top notch which can be tough to find with businesses these days. The only reason this gets a 1-star is because I can't choose "no star". I hit a piece of tire on the road and noticed when I pulled into town that a piece of fiberglass was loosened under the car. Perry would not even talk to me. He gestured to a number of keys on the counter and suggested I stick around town for a few days since it could cost 1000's. He said this without even looking at my car at all. I drove around the corner to Warrens on Short street. !0 bucks, 2 screws and 5 minutes later I was back on the road. Don't bother going to this rip-off joint in Bishop. You will get treated rudely and most likely overcharged. read more

I was on my way to work out of town in Mammoth Lakes,CA. When my B1 Maintenance Light Came On. Out on 395 with no City in sight, I found a listing in Bishop for Honda Service. Called and inquired about my maintenance light and if I needed to pull over right away? Thankful nothing to crucial and I set an appointment with Perry Motor Honda in Bishop. Let me tell you... The person who answered the phone in the Service Department was Super nice and helpful! He didn't seem annoyed by my questions and put me at ease. When I actually received my car serviced Thursday 7-13-17... The service department was great! Thanks for great service and getting me back on the road! Oh and reasonably priced! I was camping out in the middle of nowhere , last May, when my driveshaft fell out of my truck. When other mechanics let me down in Bishop, Perry Motors was there to help the very same day I called. They had me back on the road the same day with an extremely fair price!! These guys are awesome. I had a 7 hour drive from Tahoe to LA to complete in one day and just before Bishop my car's ominously vague "check engine" light goes on. I wanted an expert to check it before I continued my journey and so I looked on Yelp and these guys came up - plus they showed up on my car's nav system as an authorized Toyota dealership/service center. So... I brought the car in to their shop and even though they were clearly busy, they immediately checked it for me, ran some diagnostics and were able to give me the all-clear. In an industry that is known for dishonesty and swindling, these guys definitely broke that stereotype and were looking after *my* best interest. Great customer service!! Trunk would not open on Acura ILX while on vacation, Perry motor removed the back seat to access and repair a broken latch. They were very careful with my light tan leather upholstery, kept me updated on progress while waiting in a nice air conditioned lobby and only charged $33- would definitely recommend them!!! read more

.Caveat Emptor, do not purchase a vehicle or have a vehicle serviced by Perry Motors. I ordered a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, waited five and a half months for the vehicle. Arrived with acid rain spots on the entire paint job and etched into the glass. Also the front fender flares were not installed correctly (huge gabs with the 3M two sided adhesive exposed between the fender and the fender flare. Returned the vehicle to Perry Motors, they agreed to fix the paint, glass and fender flares, also replace the protective film I purchased for the hood and front fenders which was also damaged by the acid rain. They were able to buff the etched glass, they practically destroyed the entire painted surface of the vehicle as there detailer does not know how to buff paint correctly, Perry Motors ordered new clips and 3M two sided adhesive and tried to reinstall the fender flares, big mistake. Massive gaps now. They just handed me the new protective film, like I am supposed to remove and install the new film. According to Toyota USA, all dealerships are required to have technicians with the skill levels to perform all necessary warranty work. Not Perry Motors. Unfortunately Perry Motors Technicians do not possess the skill or competence to make these repairs. The vehicle should have never been delivered to me in this condition. Exemplary customer service by Ruben at Perry Motors!! Our CRV had a new pan gasket installed in Washington. On our trip it started seriously leaking as we approached Bishop. I pulled in unannounced or scheduled at lunch time to a full shop of cars being serviced. Ruben immediately put the CRV on the hoist, diagnosed the leak, and told me no problem, he would fit us in. And he did! He gave me a ride to our campground, gave me' regular' updates on the progress ( 2 day process due to curing of the silicon gasket) came to pick me up on day two and delivered the car repaired as promised. Despite being a bunch of friendly small town folks, Perry Motors is either brazenly incompetent or willfully dishonest. Three times over the course of a two month period they told me that they have fixed the problems occurring with my vehicle and three times the same exact issue occurred. This all begins towards the end of last year. Last December, my Honda, CR-V experienced brake issues. The brake pedal began feeling mushy and the brake lines kept losing pressure. I had to keep pumping the brakes to maintain functionality. I bring my car to Perry Motors Honda the closest Honda Service Center. The service advisor told me I needed a new master cylinder. The replacement costed $600. Two weeks later they began feeling mushy and the brake lines failed, again, to maintain pressure. I brought my car to a more local independent service shop. The owner says a new master cylinder is needed; I explain that it is not be possible for I just had it replaced. I bring my vehicle back to Perry motors, even accidentally ran a red light in the process, because my brakes could not slow my car enough. They claimed I had a dirty brake modulator. They said cleaned it out and that if the issue persists I should get it replaced. The repair worked for two weeks. My brake pedal turned into mush again. There was even less pressure than before. I explain the situation and what had happened to one of the managers at Perry Motors and received a full refund for the master cylinder work. I decide to get my car looked at by a second local service shop. At the local shop, I detailed the issues with my car and the work done. I give my theories based on research on the issue plaguing my car. The owner, with some convincing, explains that I still need a new master cylinder. I agree to get it replaced at this shop. After I picked the car up, the brakes were working perfectly and did not lose pressure after about two weeks of usage. The repaired brakes exposed another major issue. Three weeks after replacing the master cylinder locally. I was driving on US-395 South. I experience engine trouble as I am nearing Bishop. My car begins shaking and vibrating and the traction control and Vehicle Stability Control (VSA) error lights blink on. I lose acceleration, even while pushing the pedal further down. I start to smell burning transmission fluid and noticed that the engine was overheating. My car slows down to a snail's pace. I get towed to Perry Motors. They charge me over $800 parts and labor for several repaired and replaced parts. After one week; I pick it up on February 28. I question the quality of their replacements and validity of their diagnoses. One day later I am 1-hour into a 3-hour drive to Reno, the exact issues occur. This time, driving North on US-395 I begin to feel the same vibrating in the steering column, but it's more extreme. I feel like I am driving off road. Since I literally picked up my car the prior day and was told that it was fixed, I believe the issue was benign. The shaking happens on-and-off and subsides at lower speeds, but as we turn into downtown Reno, the "fixed" problems begin again. The same error lights come on. After several blocks, I lose almost all acceleration. Only 1 block from the destination, the car stops moving. With help, we push my car out of the street and the smell of burning transmission fluid is worse than before. I get towed to the nearest Honda service center. The car can drive across the lot while the engine is still cool, but he thinks the transmission is faulty. After hearing my story the service advisor is reluctant to say I need a new transmission. We agree to service it and flush the transmission fluid. The next day after a lengthy test drive, all the issues reoccurred. He tells me that I need a new transmission. An internal error prevented the transmission from lubricating as it should. I tell him about the recent repair work and he tells me that they would have done nothing with a faulty transmission. The cost of a new transmission was nearly as much as my car. I had to scrap it. I question whether they are taking advantage by taking my money for no real work, or are grossly incompetent. I thought, the service manager would provide a refund after hearing what happened one day after retrieving my car. He not only refuses to provide any refund, but also claims to have fixed the overheating issue and says, "The transmission was just fine before." He says I should have sold my car a long time ago and that he could not help it if the transmission decided to blow out the next day. I explained that these were literally the same exact symptoms and he may have misdiagnosed the issue. His point seemed most absurd. They seem like nice people, but Perry Motors preys on stranded motorists, vacationers, and out-of-towners. Three out of three times they "repaired" my car and the same issue persisted. I used to enjoy this kind of treatment from Ellis Motors, and for years was a loyal Ford customer, but they changed when Jim Ellis retired, and I was treated badly, so I'm so happy to have found another dealership who treats me with respect, and give me awesome service. I cannot figure out why the people of Bishop give Perry Motors their money. Incredibly rude service, incredibly expensive and poor mechanical workmanship. I went to them only to receive rude service and for screwed on the bill, only to have to come back to correct the work their mechanic did. It is definitely a good old boy network. Be a good old boy and will screw you less. People go elsewhere where you can get better honest service at a lower cost. On 6-13-14 I called in with an overheating problem on my 2008 Toyota Tacoma. Even though they were very busy the Service Dept. took me right in. Within an hour they had tested the vehicle and diagnosed the problem. Within three hours they had it fixed. Not only did they fix the overheating problem they fixed a loose mirror on the passenger side that had been loose forever...for free! Great customer service and professional. So on a Sunday night, in the middle of Bishop, our Prius (w/120,000+ miles) goes completely dead--locks won't work, dead dash, tranny frozen, the full catastrophe. To say the least, mild panic sets in, but good news, AAA says that there is a Toyota garage in town (Perry Motors). Sadly, the Yelp reviews give me great pause, but what choice do I have? Other garages won't even look at a Prius with electrical issues. On Monday, I call Perry Motors and am told that the earliest they can look at it is Tuesday late in the day. Major bummer! Anyway, I have the car towed to the garage and talk with Ron Ryan, one of the service managers. After explaining my "situation", he agrees to take a look right then. It turns out it was the 12-volt battery and while it ends up costing abt. $270 to replace it, most of that ($193+Tx) is to Toyota for the cost of the new battery. By 11 AM, I was out of the shop and my wife and I were back on vacation. read more
