a cool stop to check out dairy cows, grab ice cream and some other cool snacks .. its pretty amazing that you can see the different ages of cows! they have plenty of calves that you can see up close and pet. they are tagged with their birthday on their ear there is also a barnyard towards the back, where the older dairy cows are located where you can watch them do their daily activity or eat and potty LOL. not sure how often it gets cleaned..so it does smell, but that is normal they also have a viewing room so you can watch the milking of multiple cows. the chocolate milk is delicious, so make sure you grab a gallon or half or quart! we purchased half gallon, different pints of ice cream and whoopie pies i ended up picking the flavor - coffee by the sea! the ice cream is so yummy! but they were out of a lot of flavors in the pints. service was cool. a very busy time when we went on a sunday.

Love this place. Great selection of homemade ice cream and the opportunity to pet calves! Can it get any better?! Ice cream is silky smooth and very rich and flavorful. Staff is friendly and fast. Little country store on property and the opportunity to purchase ice cream to go.

Worth the trip! Try it, you'll love it!

The chocolate milk tastes like a milkshake and the ice cream is exceptionally creamy and delicious!

What a great place to stop and get ice cream and see cute calves! We got some delicious flavored milks, cookies and cream and orange and some milk shakes. The flavor I had was a bit too sweet but it was still a good milkshake. Will definitely stop by to pet the cows and get ice cream next time we are in town!

We love this place. My toddler loves the idea of shopping inside, having ice cream and the touching the cows .

What a gem! We are new to the area and had neighbors tell us this was a must-visit place and we are so happy we listened! Hands down the best ice cream I've had, my daughter loves mint chocolate chip and it wasn't bright green which shows me it's authentic and fresh! They give you large portions and the price is so reasonable. Not only was the ice cream delicious but we were also able to see and pet all the baby cows and watch how they milk the momma cows! My kids thought it was the coolest thing, they also had a corn maze that the kids could run through and a huge pasture that the cows were running in. The service was great, they have two windows, you order at one then pick up at the other, it was busy and still went quickly and efficiently. Beautiful place with delicious ice cream, can't get much better than that!

Ice cream is my go - to treat. I heard that this fairy has it all- the vows, the calves and the milk and butter and best of all the ice cream. My chocolate peanut butter ice cream was better than 5 stars! Rich, creamy delicious! But my husband's vanilla shake was not so great. Not sweet enough and not enough vanilla flavor. So I couldn't give 5 stars. The little store has snacks and dairy products. Didn't see any cheeses with their label though. We enjoyed our visit and next time I'm ready for a treat I'll definitely go back. Pluse my one scoop was exceedingly generous! WAy to go. If you're in the area you have to try this!!

Great stop on a Saturday evening. Ice cream was excellent. Corn maze was a busy activity for children. Cows grazed up to the fence where we were sitting.

We have tried a few other CSA's and although some are more flashy with huge offerings of "extras", we never had the overall quality found with this CSA. We were so impressed that we have hosted a drop site for the past few seasons and it just works out so well and everyone is super friendly. It looks like they are updating their systems for the Summer 2016 season to offer the customer more choice and feedback (custom ordering?). Something to definitely check out. We also can supplement with more of their produce at our favorite stand (Country Lane Poultry & Produce Thurs-Sat) at the Fairgrounds Farmers Market in Reading. http://www.crawfordorganics.com/

We've picked up at Bodhi Coffee on Headhouse as well as Sweet Freedom Bakery during two separate seasons. What we've loved: wonderful organic produce, on-time delivery with flexible pick-up (Sweet Freedom would hold our box until the next day when we needed), wonderful newletters with pictures and recipes, and a knowledgeable response to customer inquiries. Also, we really enjoyed the dried goods that came in our box sometimes: popcorn, cornbread mix, and a dried tomato thing that rehydrated into a delicious pesto. What could be better: More variety. We got so many potatoes and sweet potatoes that we had to constantly give half away. We got lettuce (a head or two) every week, so I had to get really creative with recipes (btw, Lettuce Soup is delicious!). However, the website says that the Crawford family would like to continue adding more crops, so I suspect that this will improve as they diversify the farm. Fewer Herbs. The herbs were a nice touch, but the portions were too large. I really struggled to use as much cilantro as was given to us, even though I put it in everything AND froze some. Same for other herbs - plenty to use, to freeze, or to dry, but really could be smaller bunches in order to be enjoyed fresh. Discount for Returners. We missed the Early Bird discount because we thought we were moving and hence couldn't renew right away. It would have been nice to get a "second season" discount as a gesture for loyalty. I would (and have!) recommend this CSA to anyone looking for organic, affordable produce in Philly. If you haven't ever tried a CSA before, you can confidently try this one!

While scrolling social media one evening, I stumbled across a heated debate about who makes the…read morebest peanut butter pie in Central PA. This conversation was clearly MADE for me. As someone who takes peanut butter desserts perhaps a little more seriously than the average human being, I immediately started making a list of the top contenders. Oak Grove Farms kept popping up, so when I found myself with a free rainy Saturday afternoon, it became time for an official Peanut Butter Pie Procurement Mission. Now, Oak Grove Farms offers way more than peanut butter pie. Their farm market is stocked with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, dairy products, locally made items and all kinds of other goodies. But this particular Yelp review? This mission? Laser-focused on peanut butter pie. Before leaving home, I called to make sure I wouldn't drive over only to discover they'd sold out. The nice lady who answered the phone happily confirmed they still had peanut butter pie available. Mission status: ON! When I arrived, I was actually surprised by how busy the farm market was despite the rainy weather. Apparently a little rain isn't enough to keep folks away from Oak Grove, which is always a good sign. I walked straight inside and made an immediate beeline for the refrigerated pie case. There were only two individual slices of peanut butter pie left, so I grabbed one before anyone else could beat me to it. They also had half and whole pies available, but let's try to exercise at least a little self-control on the first visit. The damage? A whopping $2.49 for a slice of peanut butter pie. I actually laughed. That's almost suspiciously affordable these days. As I was heading toward the register, I made the mistake of walking past the whoopie pies. Or perhaps the best decision of the day. Five minutes later, I was walking out with not only my peanut butter pie but also a Shoofly Whoopie Pie for another $2.50. My picnic dessert situation had officially escalated. Fast forward a few hours...dinner was over. It was dessert time. The peanut butter pie absolutely lived up to the hype! The filling was light and fluffy while still delivering a rich peanut butter flavor in every bite. I'm usually not the biggest fan of chocolate cookie crusts on peanut butter pie because I think they sometimes overpower the filling, but this one worked beautifully. Even the little dollops of whipped topping around the edge added just the right finishing touch. This one has officially earned a spot near the top of my Central PA peanut butter pie rankings! And then...the Shoofly Whoopie Pie. I honestly bought it because I'd never seen one before and curiosity got the better of me. And, I'm really glad it did! It was incredibly moist with a rich molasses flavor that came through beautifully without being overwhelming. It was unlike any whoopie pie I've had before, and easily one of my favorite varieties I've tried in quite a while. Mission accomplished! While Oak Grove Farms is clearly much more than just a destination for desserts, this peanut butter pie expedition was an overwhelming success. Next time I'll spend more time exploring everything else the market has to offer. But let's be honest...I'll probably leave with another slice o
