Reeser's is the best! Have been coming here for years and will keep coming back. Some of the best ice cream in the area. It's absolutely worth the drive out! Great service and plenty of space for kids to run around. The food AND ice cream menu is huge here! They have specialty flavors different weeks throughout the year, so check the schedule. Highly recommend the Artic Swirl - you can customize it and fill it with whatever you like! Note: The line does get very long, especially after dinner hours, but it's worth the wait and usually goes down fast. read more

A family favorite for decades! We have watched children and grandchildren roll down the hill has we savored wonderful creamy concoctions. We all wait for late July when peach sundaes come - they buy local peaches and only serve till they are gone. You snooze you lose! From of house staff is always exceptional and efficient. Fresh peach sundaes are in!!! Always long lines at Reeser's but if you like soft serve, this is the place for you. I like a denser less airy soft serve but I was excited for fresh peaches. The hubs got the peach milkshake and he enjoyed it. The small sundae was more than enough for me but I did finish all the peaches. It has been some time since we stopped by Reeser's--I think we were coming back from a tubing trip--so we were all hot and in good spirits from the days adventures. We saw a sign for ice cream--smashed the brakes and whipped the Honda Pilot into the parking lot. We were thrilled by what we found--the sundaes(?) were creative and I recall lots of fresh fruit. Love going to Reeser's! I have been going there for many years. My favorite is the pork bbq and great French fries. I've also had their burgers and hotdogs. Which are awesome. I recently changed it up and had the grilled ham and Swiss on a pretzel roll. Very good! The soft ice cream is the best!! My favorite is the peanut butter. Love sitting at the picnic tables. This is an update to my prior review of this business. During this time of quarantine my favorite ice cream shop is closed so I can't get my favorite peanut butter flavor. At least, I can't get it at the ice cream shop location, I was delighted to discover that Reeser's Soft Ice Cream has a retail agreement with the Karnes at Newbury Commons...ONLY at this location. So, during this time while comfort food is so very important, I drove out of my way by 30 minutes for my weekly shop for groceries and essentials, and was able to stock up on some of my favorite flavors. I now have peanut butter, raspberry, vanilla and chocolate. The small batch made flavors at the grocery store also are in rotation so keeping an eye on the business Facebook page was useful. This was my first time here, prior to this I had never heard of them. The menu is huge! So many hot food options as well as many ice cream options. For hot food we got a cheeseburger sub, hero sub, and a cheeseburger. Everything was very good! Ice cream we got a root beer float, one of their special Sunday's and then peach ice cream to go. Soft ice cream - always have vanilla and chocolate and twist (and sundaes, etc.), then rotate specialty flavors on the weekends. But their ice cream prices have really gone up for 2023 (general food prices remain reasonable). I know a lot of people will continue to support them because the place has been a fixture in the area since the '60s, but unless they have peanut butter, it may not be worth the trip. read more

Great place to take the family or just grab some ice cream. There is a area where kids can play. There is outside and indoor seating. Staff was friendly and very polite. They were also very welcoming. The overall experience was great. Good tasted great. They have 20 soft serve flavors, 19 hand dipped flavors and a bunch of toppings for you to choose from. Thanks to the yelpers we had to go out of our way to try Reeser's ice cream! It was worth it. It's a local joint close to Ski Roundtop. They offer a quick menu featuring soft ice cream, milkshakes & malts, Italian ice, arctic swirls & a variety of sandwiches priced from $1-7.50. They have weekly specials and I was actually looking forward to the peanut butter flavor but it wasn't featured. Bummer. Anyway, one of the special flavors was orange & the server suggested the orange & vanilla swirl, if I liked Dreamsickles. So I tried it and it was very good. My husband got a strawberry sundae with chocolate ice cream & whipped cream. It was very filling. They offer seating on picnic benches. I guess if we can make it back up here from MD, hopefully I will be able to try peanut butter ice cream. read more

Run by Donny Reeser for the past 20 years and his Father before that. This soft ice cream shop/food shop has been a staple of my families eating rituals for many years. Being right down the road from Gifford Pinchot State Park and only a few miles away from the highway this is a great place to finish off a day of hiking/boating/whever you enjoy doing out doors. Every Fri-Sun he makes a different flavor soft ice cream. I highly recommend the Banana which tastes nothing like a banana at all, but more like those orange circus peanuts you get in the candy section. (not kidding, keep that thought in your mind before you lick that ice cream cone). The food he serves is simple, tasty and cheap. He factors in the tax right with the food so everything comes out to a nice round number, well rounded to a quarter anyway. Vanilla, Chocolate, and Mixed are the staples and he has a "Hey what goes in a?" sunday list that has more than 20 different kinds ranging from smores, to blueberry, to peach cobbler. There have been nights I have driven past this place and the line extended all the way to the middle of the parking lot, and when you see just how large his lot is, you'll understand what I am talking about. Quite surprising that with all those people, there aren't any reviews for it here yet. Well I'll change that. Go here for the food, stay for the ice cream, and enjoy the rest of your night. His hours change throughout the year and he does close for the winter season so this isn't a 24/7/365 business, but who wants to be swimming in ice cold weather anyway? read more

I have never had a bad experience at Reeser's. My parents took me when I was a child and now my husband and I take our children. The food is always beyond reproach, in fact the ice cream is the best I've ever had. The price is more than what you pay at Dairy Queen or other chain ice cream shops, but this is a family owned and operated business since 1969 and well worth the couple extra bucks. Grab an ice cream and enjoy it at the day use area of Pinchot, right up the road. Definitely a worthwhile stop if you're in the area. Ordered a raspberry sundae thinking it'd be raspberry ice cream - it wasn't. it was vanilla ice cream with cheap nasty tasting raspberry flavored syrup. Overall, the ice cream itself is addicting. a couple of weeks ago, I asked my daughter if she would like ice cream and she said yes (We live in Silver Spring township). About 15 minutes into the drive she inquired why we were going so far for ice cream. That day, the soft serve was raspberry.
