PersonaDoctors is no longer at this location and good riddance however it remains open in other locations. As of now, there is only one physician associated with PersonaDoctors although "doctor" is very much part of its name. That doctor is Christopher Ko. Dr Ko has no credentials ,which acknowledges his expertise in hormonal replacement therapy. He is a GP but not an OBGyn or a urologist, who generally are acknowledged as having this expertise. Yet, he is the sole MD at PersonaDoctors which publicly claims expertise for hormonal replacement therapy. Since hormonal replacement can only be competently managed by a trained physician , there is no basis for PersonaDoctors' claim. All other providers are either PAs or NPs. who can administer hormones, but under the supervision of a physician. He is the only MD at PersonaDoctor, yet there is no mention by PersonaDoctor that he is its sole resource for this claim. His silence on its web site makes him complicit. For this very reason, I would be very wary of any professional advice about HRT from Dr. Ko or any provider at PersonaDoctors read more

At no point in 10 months (6 months of pre-pandemic services and 4 months of being ignored by Persona) have I ever called their office and NOT been directed to their answering service. In the last 4 months I have not ever received a call back. If you care about customer service at all, do not choose this company. Now, instead of paying them $500.00 per month, I talked to my PCP who has prescribed me the same meds I got from them for just the cost of a copay. The only the I can't get is their fancy b12 injection that my doctor says doesn't do much anyway. My weight loss is still on track and I keep my $$$! read more

I have been with Persona (formerly My Weight Doctor) off and on since 2011. Off and on because I moved away and back to the DMV. I was so happy that they opened an Alexandria, VA office. Lakeia is the medical technician in this office. She has experience and genuinely cares about the patients and the office. There are corporate issues that need to be address; doing more with less should never be the norm in this type of business. I am giving 3 stars because there is room for improvement. Robberies. I start this during a time when my 12 year old cousin died. I told the young lady, I could not afford $500 a month. She explained, I can go down to a cheaper plan after the initial deposit. 34 days later my Aunt passed. I called the office to let them know that, I was not in any condition to come to the office and I did not know when? They were understand and very sympathetic. I would say about 2 months they continued to charge my FSA card to the tune of $897. Not one time did I return. The only reason I found out what they were doing!!! They sent me a letter charging me $35.00 for my card declining. Now, I have Lupus with no insurance. That's why I told the sales lady, "I cannot pay $500 a month. There was no way in the world I could every pay $500 a month with diabetes and Lupus medical bills. Now I cannot buy my medicine or doctor appointments will be pushed back, until this is work out. While the staff are usually courteous when I am there for in-off appointments, and I have no major complaints about the Persona Doctors weight loss plan itself, my rating is based on the overall customer service I've received from the Rockville Office. There have been TWO incidents where the billing staff has charged by checking account for large payments at unagreed upon times. In both instances, I've had to haggle with staff from various officers (Rockville and College Park) via phone tag and email over a period of days before the matter was resolved. BOTH instances wreaked havoc on my checking account. Additionally, there are many times when they are not in the office during their posted scheduled hours. Just yesterday I called at 5 PM and again 5:39 PM to schedule an appt. for Friday and got their answering service each time. They were supposed to have been open until 7PM. I left my phone number and no one returned my call. This has happened many times when I've called there in the afternoons (which I found odd given the large staff they have), but someone usually phones back. read more

I paid $2,500 cash (my medical FSA). I asked only to use the services as far as this would take me. The Manager said I need to sign a contract to receive the advertised rate. He did a hard sell, but promised that I could cancel at any time and that my Amex would never be charged. I was told that the manager would input a note on the account to cancel automatically before the money ran out, that was a bold face lie. One day the receptionist told me that there was not enough money on the account and that the AMex would be charged, I said no that I would pay the difference in cash and that I wished to ensure that the account was cancelled. He said I need to provide cancellation in writing. So I returned two days later and I handed the desk person a letter stating that I would no longer be using the services- In addition I now was having heart palpitations from the cocktail of 4 pills they gave me. My General doctor recommended that I stop the diet immediately, as soon as I stopped I gained the weight back and then some. They continued to charge my Amex and I did not realize it for 3 months. I contacted Amex who contacted Persona about the dispute, they never returned their calls. After providing Amex with a copy of the contract and my cancellation notice and proof that I had not used the services in the months charged, Amex ruled in my favor and reversed the charges. I called Persona repeatedly and sent an email with a copy of the cancellation notice. They never responded. While I was on Vacation in July, almost a year later, and they sent me a notification of delinquency to my credit report. Now I have a non-payment judgement for $875.00 for services I never received as I never returned to the offices in September, November or December. And they never spoke to me or American Express. And I have no recourse other than to pay the money to correct my credit report. They seem to care more about the money than the patient. The pills they give can be dangerous according to my General Doctor. Advice Do not sign their contract at the office, take it home and read it. Have your General Doctor review the meds they are providing before taking them. It is expensive and they treat everyone the same regardless of your medical history. The doctor that saw me was a retired OBGYN, who never even asked me how I was feeling. When I told him about my heart palpitations, insomnia and my nausea after the second month, he discounted it as normal. The insomnia, nausea and palpitations became so bad that I ended up at my General Doctor. I would not recommend them. read more

I love these people! When I first went there I was a little skeptical because I'm very methodical and I prefer going home, reading over material, making a decision and then signing an agreement. But of course, they want you to do it all right there during your initial visit, which is normal, but not for me! Any event, I'm glad I did! I ended up signing, and wow, what a difference from then to now! I started the end of June,2016 (technically July 1,) and by November 2016, I was 60 lbs lighter! On top of that the staff and I have a BLAST! When I walk in they know I'm there! We laugh, talk and have great conversations and they love when I come in. I will miss them a lot...but I enjoy the entire staff and they are the BEST! Finally, my total weight loss so far is 90 lbs....and I feel great! I'm back to me again! Unfortunately, this time around instead of losing weights, the frustration caused by not receiving meds/supplements and the stress of dealing with being passed back and forth between people who said they would fix the situation has been the worst experience I received to date from health related practices. Online a had to give a 50 dollar deposit to schedule an appt. i arrived and was immediately put in an office to choose a plan and commit. The 175.00 1st month is only if you purchase 2 months. The second month was over 450 dollars!! If you choose 1 month it is over 220 dollars not like the ad represented! Beware of online advertising that is not true when you arrive!! The reviews were bad before but I'm here to say that the Rockville office of Persona Doctors has been great. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming as well as knowledgeable. I didn't read any reviews for "my weight doctor" but I'm here to tell you that the Persona Doctor's in Rockville are awesome! They answered all questions and concerns and were the best! I lost all the weight they promised and they were very professional. My only complaint is the amount that they tell you changes with the payment plan you choose but the 50 lbs I lost who cares! I feel better and everything fits better. Just follow the instructions given by the doctor. There is no perfect magic pill you have to learn to eat better and exercise. read more

Buyer Beware Worst experience I have EVER had. They tied me in to a 6 month contract and made all kinds of promises on how they would work with me if I couldn't swing the payment, then pull the rug out from under me. My father became very ill out of state, I called and explained the situation and said I would call when I got back to reschedule, etc. THEY SAID OKAY!!!! They charged my card $550 after they told me they would not which left me stranded out of state 2 extra days because I was unable to book a plane ticket home because my credit card was maxed. I had to dispute the charge to free up my credit card because they refused to reverse it, even after they told me they would not process the charge. The best part was coming home to a nasty collections letter from their office manager threatening to sue me etc if I didn't pay up. I'm paying out my contract then fully plan to do everything I can legally to re-coup my losses. And if they reply to this and say blah blah blah we did this....the one thing they did was take more money than I had ever planned to spend. read more

Save your money. This place is a joke. Sure the staff is friendly but they better be for what you're paying. As soon as you walk through the door they usher you into a meeting room to make you sign up to get any discounts. Unless you're willing to pay over $350 every month for 6 months you will pay 450 a month plus joining fees. Here's what you get for all that money. Initial visit with blood work. Could be done free at primary care through insurance ,which btw, never covers this place. Then you meet with the doctor weeks later and he tells you what you already know. You're have metabolic disease aka you're fat. Here's a bunch of pills to take and guess what? For 450 a month he tells you to eat less and exercise. Fancy that sage advice. Never heard that before. So basically you pay every month 450 for some pills. It's a joke. You meet with him once a month for all that money for less than 5 minutes where he just reiterates that you should exercise and eat less. I did lose weight but it was strictly because of the fentermine. Save your money folks and go to your primary care and get a prescription. It's a racket. I quit as soon as I could so of course, there were penalties! It should have been a major red flag that the very first meeting was all about the money and nothing to do with your health. read more
