My family has had a 19 year history with Dr. Steenblock and his staff. In 2000, I brought my daughter who had a massive stroke at birth, to his clinic for 90 hours of hyperbaric oxygen. She was 6. She had cognitive issues and cerebral palsy. She was tested by the school district after that visit. Her spasticity was greatly improved and her expressive language improved from the 11th to the 30th percentile. Those changes were permanent. In 2014, we returned to his clinic and started stem cell therapy. Because of her previous stroke, Haley developed grand mal seizures which we saw almost daily. Over the course of two weeks, Haley has her own bone marrow retrieved and all of the stem cells put back into her body. She also received umbilical stem cells every day. Dr. Steenblock also offered her some other adjunctive therapies during that visit. When we returned home, she started reading for pleasure for the first time. I was certain based on her brain injury that she would never be able to drive a car because of her visual/spatial problems, but a couple of years ago, she started studying for her drivers permit and passed it on the second try. After that, she purchased her own car! She now drives herself to therapy appointments and has the ability to shop for herself, and visit her friends! She has a wonderful typically developing boyfriend who loves her for who she is. All things I was pretty sure would never happen for her. 10 stars! I had major surgery and my surgeon recommended hyperbaric oxygen therapy to help aid in my healing. When I first called to schedule an appointment i was greeted with the kindest gentleman who really impressed me with his positive attitude. As I entered the building it just felt very inviting like a big family environment. People who actually care about your well being. I started my treatment on a Monday. My first day there I could barely stand up straight or walk and was taking a lot of pain medications. By day 2 I instantly was moving with more ease and less pain. Everyday my energy and ease of movements increased. By Friday I wasn't fully recovered considering the major surgery I had. George who is the main technician who runs the hyperbaric treatments only was concerned with me getting better. He is such a genuine and kind soul who is beyond selfless. He offered to come in on the weekend and do treatments for me!!!! Literally no other business is going to care more about your health then their 9-5 Monday - Friday schedule. I was honored and blessed to have found such amazing people and for them to care as much as they do. I ended up getting another week plus a Saturday of treatments. I don't know everyone's names on staff but I felt so loved by all of them. The office manager prints positive daily quotes and some of the days those quotes kept my spirit going when I was low. I had the pleasure of visiting Doctor Steenblock for treatment and it was such an amazing experience! I've been in the service industry for 20 years as a Mortgage Lender and I was absolutely blown away at the service that was provided by the friendly staff there. I was able to take a tour of the facility afterwards and it was nothing short of amazing! If you are looking for a sports medicine doctor that can help you with any type of rehab this is the place to go.They even offered me something to eat before I left.The staff and Doctor were so knowledgeable. I received treatment on my knee and my knee hasn't felt this good in years! For those of you who have a phobia of going to get medical treatment this is a place that you'll look forward to going to after you've been there. My favorite part of the visit was having the opportunity to sit down with Doctor Steenblock and speak with him about my injuries. It's very rare that you get this level of service from a Doctor. Most doctors are in a rush to get you in-and-out. I can tell that the Doctor was authentic and really cared about my well being. If there's an option for negative star I would pick that. This doctor does not deserve any star. Went in for stem cell consultation today. It was a nightmare and an insult to my intelligence to be treated disrespectfully by the doctor. He was unprofessional and confrontational to say the least. He felt threatened/intimidated by my questions and told me to leave his office immediately. I told him I'd review him this very same day. As a prospective I needed to know details of the stem cell procedure including length of time and preparation for treatment, stem cell donor info, source of umbilical cord and the process/procedure it undergoes in preparation for IV/injection, costs, effectiveness, lifespan. These are pertinent info patients need to have in order to make an educated decision. However the doctor was reluctant to answer my questions but rather began accusing me of being sent by the medical board to his office to interrogate him. Wow! that was really shocking! I had no idea I work for the medical board? Wait! What!?! A medical doctor who shows no professionalism and care for a prospective patient. To confrontationally attack a patient, the doctor must be failing his medical calling. It became clear that he was afraid to be "founded" In reality he would react this way if he were running a covert operation or in trouble with the law. He knows why he was hostile and unprofessional towards me. My review is intended to educate the public. I really don't even know where to start. From the beginning, before we got to California Dr. Steenblock's team did EVERYTHING they could to inform us, support us, pray for us, comfort us. When we got there they did even more. They were available day and night on the phone At ANY TIME to answer questions or concerns. I spoke with Dr. Steenblock around 10pm and even then he offered to meet at the office to give me some magnesium my daughter needed in case we couldn't get it from the drug store at that time. I thank God for them and I am really excited to see what else God is gonna do with this stem cell treatment my daughter received! I went to Dr. Steenblock for chelation to remove the heavy metals lead and mercury from my system. He was very comprehensive and very knowledgeable. After a few months of IV therapy I was able to bring my levels within normal range. I have a big fear of needles but nurse Gina was amazing and she made me feel really comfortable.
