My first infrared sauna experience was fantastic! I've been wanting to come here since it opened, and I'm so glad I did. I've read about the benefits of regular sauna use, especially infrared, and had been interested in trying it. The studio features 9 private sauna rooms, and my room was perfectly clean and came with towels to use during the session and a eucalyptus towel for afterward. Perspire uses infrared to generate the heat and can range from 130 to 170 degrees F! As a newbie, I didn't venture above 135, but that was plenty for me for my first go. By the end of my 40 minutes, I broke quite a sweat. You can also do light therapy during the session too and can pick which color you'd like to have. In addition, the room has a TV, which could be used to watch meditation videos (or Netflix too, if that's what you wanted!). The pricing was what I expected for a boutique sauna such as this. Your first session is discounted, and for 1 session beyond that, it's $49. There are membership packages that go up to $199/month for unlimited use. The staff was very friendly, and I look forward to coming back!

The mini-spa session I didn't know I needed. When I walked in was greeted as if they knew me already. The receptionist even annunciated my name properly! It's not hard but also it can be if you don't try. They had me at hello literally . Let's get into the private sauna suite. Not only did I love the fact that it's private I LOVED that it was private!! They have water bottles for you to purchase. Ofc I received a filled bottled which was really awesome. If you want a refill you can grab it! They have a built in water hub; seen in pictures. 40mins is the maximum for using a suana! Do not go overboard + they won't let you. I do appreciate the care about our health bc I was uneducated. Most gyms it's not private and they just let you do what you want. I appreciate the care for my personal health care. The suite comes with a tv! I expeditiously switched to Netflix when I saw the button . I was able to catch up on my current Netflix series (The Last Airbender) while I relaxed and that was a ++++ for me. They do have complimentary towels & other suites that come with a shower to rinse off right after! When signing up they ask what are the benefits you're looking for customization and I appreciate that. Overall 20/10 would definitely recommend Follow me @damnthosesteaktacos on IG & TikTok to see more!

The staff was excellent at giving me an introduction to how everything works + a tour. They were very friendly, the space was clean, and I didn't feel pressured to become a member.

However, new ownership seems intent on slowly ruining this treasured institution. When I heard that the owner of Red Square had taken the Sweatlodge over, I braced myself. I no longer patronize that place due to experiencing a rapid decline in the quality of service and facilities. It turns out my apprehension was valid. In short order, Sweatlodge started going downhill ... - The satellite radio was the first to go. No more chill blues or jazz, but a local radio station that plays obnoxious commercials half of the time. - The wood in the saunas was replaced with much cheaper material. No more pleasant smell of cedar when you walk in. Also, there are exposed screw heads throughout the benches of the dry sauna, which have burnt me numerous times. - The zero gravity chairs that were perfect for a nap have been replaced with uncomfortable wooden chairs. Word is that the owner grew tired of fixing them. But somehow this wasn't an issue for the nearly 20 years they had previously been there. - The ice machine was taken out, and the water tank replaced with a fountain that is often lukewarm. - The sand filtering in the cold plunge was replaced with chlorine. The pool is often much warmer than it should be, especially in warm months. - The food portions are much smaller while meals grow more expensive. For example, I got the chicken soup most of my visits for a decade and a half. It was the best in the city. Now, it is a medium bowl of thin broth. featuring an anemic chicken leg and thigh with a few slices of carrot and potato thrown in - for $17. It was previously served with a small, fresh baked loaf of bread. Not anymore. - The cafe hours have been limited to save on payroll. It doesn't open until well into the afternoon. - Last time I was there, a sign proclaimed that you could request only one extra towel. (This was a classic Red Square tactic. Nickel and dime bullshit.) - 10% service charge added to all services. - One of the TVs had disappeared from the wall last time I visited. All of this while the admission price steadily climbs. I have still visited, but much less often than I used to. An unpleasant surprise has awaited me every time. I will probably pop in once in a while, as the heat is still good, and the plunge still satisfies (when it is cold). The staff is friendly and competent. This is the only reason for my second star. However, I am sure it won't be long before the penny pinching results in an underwhelming experience I refuse to pay for. Many men have been patronizing this joint for even longer than I have, but I would would imagine that they have their limits and will begin to drop off as well if this continues. Really disappointing and a true shame that new owner is ruining this magical place.

The service is great, pricing is very fair and the ambiance is extremely relaxing. The only minor complaint is that it could be remodeled a little bit as the facilities are starting to show their age. It's always like having a vacation at the Sweat Lodge

We didn't know…read morewhat to expect, but we were truly satisfied with the service we received, with one exception: the massage. After reading reviews dating back several months, I realized that other people had experienced the same issue. Let me start at the beginning. I made my reservation for a Sunday at noon. When we arrived, we were told that our reservation had been canceled. Naturally, I was confused because I hadn't canceled it. We were asked to take a seat while the staff looked into the matter, and they quickly figured it out. Brittany at the front desk did a wonderful job explaining what had happened. In the end, it turned out to be an error on my end, but she remained friendly, professional, and accommodating. She offered us another date and time and even compensated us for parking. Thank you, Brittany! The bath experience was everything I needed to cleanse my soul. The waterfall area and the eucalyptus sauna quickly became our favorite places. The atmosphere was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we had hoped for. Now, on to the massage. My wife and I were in the same room. She had a female therapist, and I had a male therapist. Unfortunately, our experiences were completely different. My therapist spent most of the session lightly rubbing my feet and legs. He never touched my hands, fingers, neck, or head, all of which my wife received during her massage. He did ask whether there were any areas I wanted him to focus on, and I mentioned that I had tension in my upper shoulder area and that I had a shoulder injury. He concentrated primarily on the injured shoulder and very little else. I was genuinely surprised when he told me the session was over. My first thought was, "Wait, where was the rest of the massage?" I would really like to see Aire invest in more experienced massage therapists, especially since this appears to be a recurring concern among guests. That said, the massage experience did not ruin our visit. I would absolutely return, and I would still recommend Aire to my family, friends, and coworkers.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM…read more Use Caution when booking. I booked my reservation on May 23, 2026 for July 19, 2026 for my 11 year anniversary. Showed up and it was closed due to construction issues with the city. I received no email or phone call that it would be closed. Very embarrassing. I've called over 6x asking asking for a refund $720. Each time I've called it the same response "sorry someone from our management team will call you back". Nobody ever calls me back. I disputed the issue with my credit card company and AIRE responded to them saying that the service was complete forcing me to open another investigation with the city and having to look in legal counsel to take them to court. I am beyond frustrated. Never thought this is how they would do business. Apart of me feels that they lost so much business during the time they were "under construction" that they can't afford to keep the lights on let alone issue a refund. I would stay away.

Very welcoming and impeccable hospitality. You know you are in for a good time of relaxing. Followed the host to a locker room; assigned a locker with a nice waffle knit robe and comfy cushioned slippers. Changed into my swimsuit and waited on the sofa for the next step. Offered a few choices of a beverage. I went with the sparkling wine. Perfectly chilled, semi sweet and refreshing. My first experience was the halo-therapy room. (Salt) Very comfortable; lights out, nice glow, comfy blanket. I napped for about forty minutes. Soft knock on the door to escort me to the sauna. Given a bottle of water and a fresh towel. LOVED the heat in the sauna, not at all like the gym. It was HOT! I began to sweat right away. I enjoyed my water. I could feel the stress of the week leaving my body. Soft knock, times up. Next experience, steam room. Again, not like the gym, this steam was intense. I LOVED it. After fifteen minutes my time was up. Walked downstairs to the warm beer soak tub. Nice room, soft lighting. Fresh robe and towel, another water bottle, more sparkling wine and my own charcuterie board. I was encouraged to enter the tub naked so that my body could fully absorb the vitamin benefits of the beer soak. I did. Thirty minutes of soaking went by way too fast. I am fully relaxed. I may need a minute before driving home. There is also a twenty minute chair massage where if you are not careful, can fall asleep again. Hands down, a great way to destress.

Reading about it, it became clear that is was a beer-like solution, and closer to a hop-scented herbal bath. Ok that definitely sounded better. There are also other spa amenities, and it's just you and the people you came with in each room/treatment area. So I came here with my wife, and it turned out to be the perfect relaxing, fun (and slightly gimmicky) activity between a morning of site-seeing/walking around Chicago, and an evening dinner/show. We did the silver package. Arrived a few minutes early and changed into robes/slippers (minor nitpick #1: my sandals were comically small for me, it would be nice to have bigger ones to choose from) then headed to the salt room. The room itself is very relaxing, even with periodic subway rumbling. (Minor nitpick #2: we both wished the bottom of the chairs were more padded). After a trip to the Sauna (we did not last long) and the steam room (which had a cold shower inside that was extremely nice to cool down) we headed downstairs for the soak (with fresh drinks and a snack platter). The soak was very relaxing and gave your skin a light hoppy/floral scent. Everything seemed clean and well-organized. Definitely would recommend for a unique couples' spa package.

New Emporer at the Door - Steamworks is back to bad service!…read moreI've been visiting Steamworks Chicago regularly for years, but this visit was disappointing. I arrived in the early afternoon and was first left waiting at the entrance because no one was available to check people in. When an employee (Noxima) finally arrived, they insisted on charging me $10 because they mistakenly thought my drawstring bag violated their very own drawstring bag policy. After realizing it was just a drawstring bag with my workout gear, there was no apology. Instead, I was told I had "an attitude." And they tried to treat me worse - yes, I have more than 5 items in there cause 1 underwear brief, 2 socks, 2 shoes and 2 handwrists, 1 shirt, 1 short are more then 5 items... At that point, I decided not to entertain their abuse, enter and chose to spend my money elsewhere. What makes this frustrating is that this isn't representative of the entire staff. Over the years, I've met many friendly, professional employees at Steamworks. In fact, I had a similar negative experience about six years ago, but most visits in between have been great. Unfortunately, it only takes one rude, unhelpful employee to ruin an otherwise positive customer experience. Let's see if the General Manager will react - but yeah: don't go to Steamworks when this Diva is in charge!
