When we first arrived, our waiter completely forgot about us and another waiter had to step in and help. My husband ordered a seafood soup, and the waiter's assistant brought it out... but with no spoon. We waited about 5 minutes before she came back with a tiny dessert spoon for a seafood soup I asked the hostess if we could please get a proper spoon. She kept walking in and out until finally she told us that all the spoons in the restaurant were occupied and we had to wait. Meanwhile the soup had already been sitting there for over 10 minutes getting cold. At the end, Alejandro the only person actually trying to help finally went and found a spoon himself. By then my husband didn't even want the soup anymore. Our original waiter finally came back and asked if we wanted him to reheat the soup ‍ My husband said no, please just take it away and bring the check. Then the waiter says, "Look, I removed the soup from the bill," as if that fixed the situation The saddest part is that no manager ever came over, nothing. Everyone acted like this was completely normal. The only person who genuinely tried to resolve the situation was Alejandro.

I had a great time the first time, and yep it's still that girl. Let's talk about the vibe real quick. The ambiance is everything. Modern, and just really well put together. From the furniture textures to the contrast in colors it all feels super intentional but still chill. Like, they knew what they were doing when they designed this place. 10/10 on the setting alone. Let's get down to the items shall we? What We Had Drinks ____________________ + Naori Signature Drink ($15) : 8.4/10 This one's made with Pisco Berries and Triple Sec. It's a layered, fruity cocktail that's a little more complex. Personally, I prefer the Pisco Sour it's cleaner and more balanced for my taste. But if you like citrusy and berry-forward drinks, you might love this one. Again, these are my reviews based on my taste buds. You might feel differently and that's ok honey. + Espresso Martini ($16) : 9/10 Strong, chocolatey, and gets the job done. + Lychee Martini ($16) : 8.6/10 Clean and balanced. Not too sweet, just smooth and refreshing + Pisco Sour ($16) : 10/10 My fave. Fruity, with this nice cold foam on top. Pretty sure there were peach or passionfruit notes in there. So good. * Shots - We also did a round (Don Julio, I think), and it kept the vibe going. Appetizers/Entrees __________________ +Nikkei Tiradito ($19) : 10/10 Thin tuna slices with a shouyu sauce that had a little citrusy kick. I could've had another plate just for myself. +Grilled Octopus ($20) : 8.4/10 This was good! Cooked well, had a nice char. Not my favorite thing on the table, but still strong comes with Peruvian corn and potato. +Arroz Chaufa Special ($24) : 10/10 Babyyy this dish was everything. Wok-fried rice, perfectly seasoned. That filet was so tender, and the shrimp just brought it all together. Easy standing ovation for me. * Dessert - I honestly can't remember what we ordered for dessert, but it was decent. Nothing crazy. I'd give it a 7/10. Overall Experience: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 Would I Be Back? Without a doubt. I even told my mom about this place and I think she went a couple months ago! I really liked the salsa criolla, the pickled red onions on the side 3) Pescado A Lo Macho $30- mixed seafood and sauce was good, fair portion 4) Tallarines Verdes con Lomo Saltado $28- one of my favorite Peruvian dishes done right, good flavor Everything we ordered were very enjoyable and this place should be packed! As soon as 8pm hit, customers came little by little. After, we thought we were just early birds in this area then. Menu prices are expensive but typical nowadays. There was a large group (a party of some sorts) and a lot of great singers; and so many people jumped up to dance along with many of the songs. We tried a couple of varieties of the peruvian classic drink, Pisco Sour... once traditional and one with a mango twist. They were very good (not my thing but very good for what they are). We shared one of their ceviches (amazing) I ordered Tacu Taco with chicken and my husband got some seafood dish; I can't remember what it was called but I know we could've shared one dish since the servings are huge. We can't wait to return !

Of course, I didn't, but then started to feel rushed and had to just pick something. (The staff here seemed annoyed to be working.) We both ordered and then sat, waited about 10 min before the food was ready. The food came out, and everything looked ok. The steak and shrimp option I had was good, steak was seasoned well, and looked how I liked it. The boneless chicken Jason has was so bland, and dried out he didn't even finish it. The chicken was very thin, which I felt was the reason it was dry, unfortunately he hated everything lol. I thought it was ok, however, I can only give 3 stars because I didn't feel welcomed, staff were not friendly. Which is awesome because I would never have known what to order. He did the ordering for both of us, and he ordered too much, but it was all quite good. We started with potatoes in a cheese sauce and ceviche. The potatoes were amazing. I've never tasted anything quite like them. The ceviche was good. Next we had something that was veggies, white rice and French fries in a brown gravy with beef. Also quite tasty. Then fried rice with various types of meat and seafood mixed in. I tried it and it was good, but by this time I was pretty full, so I only tasted it. I'll have the rest for lunch tomorrow. We drank Inca Kola, which is very popular in Peru, although now it's apparently made by Coke, but still, quite tasty. They have a diet version, but I don't touch artificial sweeteners. We passed on dessert as I had eaten too much already. I don't have anything bad to say about this place. The service was good, the food was good, the restaurant was clean. I can't comment on the prices because I honestly didn't pay any attention since I wasn't paying for the meal (thank you, Kalo), but he didn't say anything bad about the prices. All-in-all it was a good restaurant and certainly deserving of four stars. And one to add to my list of do-overs.

The Jalea is a big platter of fried mixed seafood. The breading was seasoned and delicious. The sauce it came with had onions in it which I loved! It was a little too fried for me but not burnt so it was all good. The steak and pesto pasta was hearty. The steak was grilled to medium rare very nicely and the pasta was al dente with plenty of sauce. Will be coming back soon!

I ordered a pisco sour that was perfectly made. My appetizer was a fish and shrimp ceviche: the leche de Tigre was soooo fresh and well balanced, I absolutely loved it. Main course I was pleasantly surprised to see there was an option of a plate with half tallarines verdes and half lomo saltado (the menu says "steak" and you can choose how you'd want it); I've never seen this kind of split-a-plate before so I thought I'd be perfect because you get to try two things, it's a great value. Both the tallarines and the lomo were flavorful. I just wished there was some way to keep the juices from the lomo away from the tallarines because at the bottom of the plate the pasta tasted like lomo, not like pesto hahaha -still, yummy-. Against by best judgement and my capacity I ordered dessert and the dulce de leche was a little too sweet for me (I couldn't finish it) but I ordered a coffee too, that helped. The staff was on point; I loved they were always checking on us (and the place was almost full) and I also noticed they use intercoms so they are always making each other aware of what a table needs. The owner (or manager, not sure) is very sweet and greeting all customers. The bar service seems to be tons of fun, I noticed a few couples having drinks and enjoying the evening. Specifically waited in the area until they opened this morning to try their coffee in hopes of a unique Peruvian blend. Upon entering I felt that this location could have been a Quik Stop as a past business. The market was on one side next to a clean spacious dining area with several tables surrounded by green plants with a full wall cooler of bottled and canned drinks. The kitchen was positioned on the left where the echoes of food prep were evident. The owner greeted me and offered a menu and proudly explained that all the food is authentic Peruvian cuisine and cooked fresh per order. The Iberital Junior espresso machine behind the FL Lotto dispensor caught my undivided attention and requested an espresso. He informed me that its going to be a while since the machine was just turned on and needs to heat up. My brief confused stare was evident. I'm taking into account that the market opened at 9am, which was twenty minutes ago. Browsed through the Peruvian market products and saw huge olives and peppers but then realized there were no prices listed, nor on any other item. OK, at this point, I purchased FL Lotto tickets and left still thirsty. Upon leaving, I did my due diligence and double checked that the large steaming cup of coffee was still on the front of the building, and it was. My odd unimpressed experience today was hopefully rare to the business. Will return to try the coffee and some of their cuisine, just maybe way after the 9am opening time - in a hopeful quest to raise my current 2.5 star rating.
