This is the best Italian restaurant in town. Food, service, atmosphere and prices. It excels at all levels.

We love Pescaraz. We have eaten here many times and even hosted our son's rehearsal dinner for his wedding party at this restaurant. We have never been disappointed in the food or drink. It is always yummy! The staff is always accommodating and friendly! We enjoy the lasagna, stromboli and all of the dishes we have tried. The pizza is good but very heavy! The bread they serve at each table is phenomenal! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It is usually very easy to carry on a conversation at the table. I really wanted to like it but the food was tasteless. I hadn't eaten at Pescaraz in several years and it has always been good in the past but not so much this time. I ordered the Italian Special and it looked delicious but I was very disappointed. My server never checked on me even though she walked past me several times. I am sitting here now waiting for the last 10 minutes for a manager to come over so that I can send back my completely cold tortellini. This place used to be great. This is probably the worst restaurant I've been to in Amarillo. The pasta was soggy. The picatta chicken had no cream and was watery. The chicken in the chicken picatta appeared to be fried at high temp on a short order grill. Even the meatballs in the meatball sub were nasty and seemed like they had water in them. The only food item that was actually decent were the breadsticks and marinara they bring out. The service was excellent. I think that they probably use nice ingredients, but they aren't prepared or put together in any semblance of Italian food. Honestly, it seems to be technically edible, but that's the most I can say for the food. As I said, the service was excellent. Honestly that's the only thing the place has going for it, but good service won't bring me back to eat this garbage. I'd rather eat a bologna sandwich. And I hate bologna. read more

Ordered thru door dash...I Had the Italian club on wheat ciabatta with pesto. Also came with a side of fried green beans. Green beans were ok. The roll was so much better than I expected. Kind of a crisp exterior with a softer interior...and the pesto, it was really good...you could put it on a shoe and id eat it. Will definitely eat food from here again read more

This year visiting family was the second year in a row that we've been here! It's the best Italian food on this side of Amarillo that we've been too. The garlic knots are never ending lol. Try to save room for your food by not eating an entire basket full. The first time I came here I got their eggplant parm and remember it being phenomenal. This time I got the vegetable pasta and asked our server if I could get it with the spicy lemon butter sauce instead of the other two options. I'm so glad she let me make that adjustment because it was awesome! The lemon butter sauce has just the right amount of kick to it. My husband ordered chicken parmesan and he loves it with the alipana sauce, which is marinara AND alfredo sauce instead of just one or the other. I forgot to take pic of the Italian margarita I got. It's a little on the sweet side, but still really good if you're into amaretto. Overall, our service was really good! We made a reservation ahead of time because there was 11 of us. With 5 being kids, our server was super attentive and really quick about getting our two younger kids food out so they wouldn't get impatient and end up eating 500 garlic knots lol. Pescarez is one of my favorite Amarillo restaurants. The food is consistently good and I love the before dinner garlic bread and warm marinara dipping sauce. This restaurant often has live music and we've always had good service. The only thing I would change is if the house cab could be served a little chilled. Cab is best served between 59-68 F and Pescarez serves theirs room temp, like a warm room - like an 80 year olds living room. :) Go there. You won't be disappointed. Yummy. read more

Extremely nice service, we got there about 30 min to them closing coming from a long trip, but we were able to get takeout and the bartender was super friendly. They gave us a side of delicious bread - that was a nice surprise. Their decor makes you feel like you are in Texas. read more

Dirty, tore up, soda tastes old like dirt, breadsticks were hard, my Alfredo was sour like either to much garlic juice or vinegar maybe, neither of us finished our meal, chunks of food on the booth next to us, table was sticky, booths/chair tattered, really didn't feel comfortable letting my child touch anything....however the outside is cute, & the waitresses friendly. read more

I've been here three or four times now. The food is always good and they must be pretty popular because there was a wait to get in the last time I was there. Of course it was a Friday night. The previous time there was no wait but it was earlier in the day. The first time I got the clam spaghetti or linguine, one of my favorites. Theirs was good but not the best I've ever had. They use a cream sauce and I'm more of a oil and garlic person. Their oil based spaghetti sounded good so I got that the second time and it was good but my only hesitation was I couldn't detect any olive oil flavor in the oil so I wondered if it was something different. If it was vegetable oil or something less healthy I would be disappointed. It was still pretty good though and made good leftovers. Most recent time I was there I got a salad with grilled chicken and pasta with pesto sauce, all in one bowl. I asked the young man about the other spaghetti and what kind of oil it was and he didn't know. He went back and asked and came out and said it was olive oil but I still swear it didn't taste like olive oil. Olive oil has a distinctive flavor. If it weren't for that I would definitely want to order it again. The salad was very good with lots of spinach leaves surrounding a bowl of spaghetti with pesto sauce. It was good as leftovers also. Their breadsticks are out-of-this-world delicious as is the marinara sauce they give you to dip them in. They are generous with them also and always offer to bring you more if you run out. read more

The menu on the website is not what you see in the restaurant. Items I would have been interested in are not available. Website also says housewines are available at Happy Hour prices--- not so. Five star rating because our server was great and our food was hot and delicious. Their menu has a large variety of classic Italian dishes all reasonably priced. Definitely something for everyone, even the picky eaters. They have a full bar with a nice wine selection. We loved the breadsticks! I had the pasta sampler which had ravioli, lasagna, and manicotti. My husband had the meat lovers pasta. Both were great. We will definitely be back soon. read more

We are here the other night while we were traveling in Amarillo. We arrived after nine, and the hostess made a big deal about the front room being closed and how she could only seat us in the back. Whatever, no big. But she kept making a big deal about it. Weird. We were brought breadsticks before our meal arrived. They tasted like they were pillsbury, or like they had come out of a can. When our food arrived, the portions were huge! But, again the food was nothing spectacular. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce had no flavor. The chicken was good, but lacked the crispiness that usually is there with a chicken parmesan. We probably won't be back. read more

We dined in tonight and unfortunately everything was sub par. Restaurant was dirty, service couldn't keep up, our food was not appetizing. We didn't get drinks, silverware, napkins or small plates until 30 minutes after sitting down and served bread. The Lobster Ravioli had large chunks of imitation KRAB meat in the sauce. Seriously? How many corners do you need to cut to serve KRAB in your 20$ seafood pasta dish. Disgusting. This place needs help immediately. If you enjoy eating garbage then have at it. Really disappointing. My pasta dish had the same beef crumbles as Mr Gattis Pizza. We had a way better experience ordering door dash. That's really bad, you can do better! read more

We ordered dinner through doordash and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our son has a severe dairy allergy which we specified in the order. When I called to triple check (I have trust issues after a handful of trips to the ER lol) we were met with nothing but kindness. The gentleman on the phone knew what was in our dishes off the top of his head and still went out of his way to look up our order to make sure everything was squared. We ordered the spaghetti sisco, the preslianna special, and a kids slice of pizza and the food was PHENOMENAL. Large, flavorful portions. I highly recommend both pasta dishes - just yummy goodness!! Also I always appreciate when our food is packed neatly and carefully. That means someone there loves doing their job right and that speaks volumes about the type of small business they are running. As a self proclaimed foodie, frequent traveler, and psycho mom I wish we lived in Amarillo and could eat here all the time. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town! Pescaraz won me over with their complimentary breadsticks with bombsauce marinara sauce and the huge portions when you order the chicken parmigiana. My friend got the preslianna special with shrimp - the decadent sauce will make me order this next time though it only came with 5 shrimp on it. If you love bread sticks this is the place. The rest of the food tasted canned with no spices and was awful. One person ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and garlic.. the thing was soaked in what looked to be canned minced garlic, utterly nasty. I had a meatball sandwich. Lot of bread and almost two hand fulls of chopped onions, I told them to hold the peppers.. meatballs werent bad but not much flavor,( in comparison, subway meatballs have better flavor) Other person ordered " the lopez." so many jalapenos they couldn't eat it and the chicken tasted to be boiled with no spices. The other person ordered linguine and spicy shrimp, they said it wasn't too bad. Sad part is the waitress was so busy waiting on the tables of 8-12, that i guess our 4 person table wasn't going to be a big enough tip, so we got ignored a long, long time. and even after we were done 20 minutes later she shows up. The person in our party who recommended the place said the food quality and service has really gone down hill. I am just glad it ditched bread in the meatball sando which was about as much bread as a pee wee football, (seriously, just too much) and only ate the meatballs and chips. The person who ate some of the lopez went home feeling bad, and kept complaining her lips were on fire and her stomach felt bad. Needless to say I wont be returning here, or recommending this to anyone. Seriously, the food was so bad and the pizza so greasy and garlic coated, we didnt even bother asking for to go boxes to feed animals. no thanks. 2/9/18 about 1:pm is when we were there. stay away, seriously. p.s. Was recommended by AirBnb host and so glad we went! It looks small from the outside in a strip mall but is actually pretty big inside. The menu was a good size, there were specials and a kids menu. They start you off with a basket of bread - not just the average dinner rolls but seasoned with herb mix. Even the lunch portions were very generous enough to be almost 2 meals on one plate. We now live outside Amarillo and visit here often so we always look forward to having a great dinner at pescarez . Well not this time!!!! We sat down and many servers walked past us finally,Cheyenne who was not working in our area apologized and waited on us. We ordered the Pescarez Special thinking that's what we would get. NOPE !!! The pasta and sauce was completely different. VERY DISAPPOINTED . Cheyenne was very sweet and explained the changes. Wish it was on the menu so we could have order something else. We picked up a take-out order from this restaurant. The pasta sampler was really good however the beef ravioli tasted more of sausage then beef. I had the Pescaraz Pasta with Alfredo sauce chicken and shrimp and it was amazing. The cannoli and tiramisu are both outstanding desserts. My only complaint was that the go orders were a little bit difficult to distinguish because they put a lot of marinara and cheese on the top so the pastor sampler different kinds items that were in there. This place is FABULOUS!! Some of the best pasta I have ever had, much less at such a reasonable price. Our server Katie was amazing and I highly suggest the meat lovers pasta followed by Italian cream cake!! I can not say enough about the atmosphere (live music) the service (fast and beyond friendly) and the food (delicious)!!! Do yourself a favor and eat here. Went in 2 nights ago and was a little disappointed. The service was great. But the food was a little...not the normal. I get staffing issues and training new people but the dishes were not the same. I usually order Sicilian Chicken and the sauce was not the same as it usually is. It's more tomato-y. I'll definitely try again, just not for a while! read more
