The ambience is lovely. It's clean, it's fresh; It has a 1920s vibe to it. I do recommend reservations. It seems to be a very busy place, but it's small and they do not have enough servers to accommodate the tables they currently have. With only two waitresses running the entire restaurant I would suggest that they hire more help in order to get the food out in a more timely fashion. I made a reservation for four, we arrived, and were seated promptly. The appetizers were good, the salads were delicious and the drinks were the best part of the meal. The main dishes were just ok. A bit disappointing for me. I ordered the filet mignon medium. It came out well done. What a disappointment and such a waste of a beautiful filet. I did send it back and requested the filet mignon medium. It came out again blue rare. I sent it back for the third time and instead of bringing me a new fillet they put my cut piece back on the grill came out with one piece completely well done and the other piece raw. By the time they came out with my plate for the third time the rest of my party had completely finished eating was ready to get dessert and leave. This past weekend I experienced a very disappointing dining experience that fell far below what I would expect, especially from a restaurant that presents itself as offering a fine-dining atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the service felt unwelcoming. The host greeted us by immediately asking whether we had a reservation rather than offering a proper greeting. After confirming that we did in fact have a reservation, we were still refused seating because we arrived five minutes before the scheduled time over such a small difference felt unnecessarily and set a poor tone from the start. Unfortunately, the service did not improve once we were seated. The food itself was also underwhelming. Steak ordered was not cooked medium, as requested, the steak also lacked flavor overall, and the chimichurri sauce tasted overly salty. The lobster pasta was equally disappointing. Between the unwelcoming host, inattentive service, and underwhelming food, the entire experience missed the mark. For a restaurant aiming to deliver a fine-dining experience, both the service and the food need significant improvement. read more

We did not eat at the restaurant, but sat at the bar in the hotel and ate there. First, Angel was a huge help going over the menu, making our drinks and explaining drinks he was making for others. He was a super guy. Dinner was an order of Focaccia bread, made in the restaurant, and it was divine. The best I've ever had and I order it everywhere. My husband ordered the Fennel Crusted Salmon, which was delicious and cooked to perfection. He loved it. I had a Cesar salad, made with shaved brussels sprouts instead of lettuce and it was so good. I never would have ordered that if not for Angle, and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend. I ordered the meatballs for an entree and they were very good. They come 3 to an order and are huge, plenty to share. We were staying at the hotel for the night and planned to have pizza around the corner, but Angel sold us on the menu and food there. Two of us split a 9 ox filet with mashed and greens. It was amazing and yet the food wasn't warm enough for my date's liking. Had a really pleasant experience eating at Toscana, while staying at the hotel this Italian steakhouse is located in. My coworker and I decided to just have our dinner at the bar. It's a beautiful bar, great vibe and beautifully decorated. My only knock on the bar was the chairs/bar stools are super big and there isn't enough room for them at the bar, so even though they were nice and comfortable, getting in out of them was difficult and I'm not a large guy. We were served by two bartenders, seems like there was a shift change. The first was not very friendly but she was competent and that's all that really matters. The second was amazing, wish I knew her name, she went above and beyond in providing great service. Lastly the food and beverages were really good. We started off with a perfectly made dirty martini with blue cheese olives, a Skillet al Formaggio, and I ordered the Chicken Alfredo for the main course. I wasn't overly impressed with the food like I was my drink but they were good and I wouldn't be opposed to coming back. Solid Four Star Rating from me. read more

Beautiful decor and ambiance. Had the colossal crab cakes for appetizer. The orange wedges and fennel mix was a nice accent to the cakes. I would have preferred the crab cakes to have been on the heat for a minute or two longer. The wonderful lump crab mixture and cream could have been a tad firmer. Wife had pork chop and it was very good. I had ribeye steak, a perfect medium rare. The creamed miso and brussels side dish was quite unique. Not what we expected; but tasty. The post meal coffee was perfect brew. Disappointed in the complimentary amuse bouche. A bite of lox, did not amuse my mouth. I am a fan of smoked salmon; but this would have been better left in the kitchen. Thank you for the complimentary rose for the ladies - a welcome touch. Our server was efficient, and gave great effort. Her table side presence would improve if she took a deep breath and spoke slower. We struggled to understand what exactly she was saying, she was obviously working a very busy shift, and her body language was anxious. My friend and I were excited to try this place after seeing it on a top restaurant list for Amarillo. My friend who lives in Amarillo suggested it for dinner (also her first time) so the three of us went Friday night. This experience was one of the worst ones I've had. We walked in and got seated. We didn't have anyone come by for drink orders for a good while. Finally Elijah came by, bless his heart I hate doing bad reviews and usually only call people out by name if they're doing a good job (not in this case, but how can he learn if he doesn't know). All our troubles start now. My friend ordered a margarita, potato soup (no bacon), and ravioli (no bacon) bc she was observing lent. The potato soup came before the margarita. And it came with bacon. My friend didn't want to complain so she ate around the bacon. My other friend ordered the gemelli and said it was the saltiest thing ever and she did not finish her meal and didn't take it to go (and she never wastes food). She also found a blonde hair in her napkin (we all have black hair so eww). Then Elijah comes with the ravioli and mentions how it has no bacon (really dude?). My friend was happy with it and I was happy with my tortellini. We had a jug of water on our table and it generally means self serve but every nice place I've been to, the waiter still pours it for you (Elijah did not). The margarita was not mixed well and tasted like straight alcohol, no lime. Then came the bill. We had two bills in two different bill folds. We put in our credit cards. My friend's credit card got billed twice (mine none) and he put mine with her receipt and hers with my receipt. If we weren't together all weekend we wouldn't even know we had our cards switched. How can someone even make that mistake. This restaurant however pretty it may look, had expensive food that was not worth the price and terrible service. I mean everything you think you want in a crab cake is there but then chef puts some kind of magic garnish on top that sends it over the edge amazing! My mom had the filet, horseradish mashed potatoes, creamy collard greens and the mushrooms. Filet was cooked perfectly the mashed potatoes were mouth watering good and the collard greens were amazing! I'm having a hard time finding words glorious enough to describe our experience! I had the lobster ala vodka. It was hands down the best pasta I have ever had! We ate until we were so full because it was so amazing. I have dined at Toscana twice. First, was 2 years ago at the holidays for dinner on a Saturday. Food was good! 4 adults and 2 kids, service was welcoming and really nice to our kids. Their filets (beef tenderloin) are massive! So yummy. I went back a few days ago with my wife and the chef greeted us with an amuse bouche, what a treat! They are friendly as ever, and the food was even better than the first time. We recommend their pork chop, and chef specials. If they have the watermelon gazpacho, you should definitely get it. THIS IS FOR THE BAR ONLY OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT. Worst experience I've had in a bar in a long time. The bartender thought her main mission was to wash glasses and do everything but wait on customers. She had the personality of an unhappy Russian killer. Smiling or conversing with customers was not in the job description, apparently. The drinks she made were C+ but the prices were A+++. We waited and waited for service and then after we finished our first -- and only -- drink she ignored us to the point we thought "OK, you don't want our money we 're not about to order a second." We asked for the check and waited so long we contemplated walking the check rather than be held hostage by a bartender who obviously hates her job and her customers. It was a horrible experience and it made us not want to go back to the bar, which is sad because the bar itself is a cool setup. The manager needs to get someone with personality -- and someone who realizes her job is to WAIT on customers rather than do everything else but pretend there are no customers at the bar. The drinks were delicious and the food definitely hit the spot. I also loved the atmosphere, it's elevated but not stuffy. A must try is the zeppoles.
