We had a HORRIBLE experience that I hope no one ever has to go through! This was our first time ever boarding our labrador and after expressing to Ellee my fears of our dog escaping her kennels, she assured me that she had a kennel she called "Alcatraz" because no dog can escape it. She also promised me that she would keep an extra eye on him in the beginning and she would call at the first sign there may be a problem. Well our dog did escape because Ellee DID NOT watch him like she had promised and she later told us after he was dropped off she went inside to take a nap. Our dog was missing for over 24 hours before he was found and Ellee showed no concern at any time for our missing pet! She never took any responsibility for what happened and never even apologized for her negligence. Before this happened Ellee was considered a friend to our family and if she could let this happen to a friends dog then she would let it happen to anyone's dog!

Shortly after he came home we took him to the vet to establish care and were informed that he had a very pronounced heart murmur and an umbilical hernia. I quickly contacted the kennel to inform them of what we had learned. They thought the pup would grow out of it but said if anything ever happened to him they would give me another pup as soon as they had another litter. I tried to get information about their vet and got the impression that the pups were never vet checked prior to purchase. Waylon was re-checked in late June (due to pandemic) and the vet confirmed both the murmur and the hernia stating he would need to see a cardiac specialist and with approval, could have surgery for the hernia. My heart dropped as this was my two year old granddaughter's best friend. Caring for an animal properly is an expense. Caring for an animal that you recently purchased in good faith and finding your going to have additional costly expenses for health care is a completely different matter. On top of that, being told he may not have a long life span.....how do you tell a small child this? I contacted the kennel once more to tell them I was not in a position to care for a dog with cardiac health issues. I returned him to the kennel and was informed again that they would offer me another pup. At the time, it was heart wrenching just to let him go, we weren't ready to accept another animal. After time and careful consideration, I decided it would not be in our best interest to accept another pup from Ada and Luther. Since they had no other parents to choose from I informed them that I'd settle for a full refund of the purchase price and I would forgo the additional expenses that we incurred. I had paid for a healthy, normal, vet checked puppy and that is not what I received. Now they choose to ignore me and not say a word leaving me no other choice but to file a legal suit. FACT: Our puppy had congenital defects that came from one of the parents. This pup should have never been sold until they were certain the heart murmur went away and the hernia was repaired.

Due to the pandemic, we were unable to meet the puppies right away but were provided with pictures of the litter. When it came time to pick our puppy, we were able to play with the litter to ensure we picked the right fit for us. The breeder knew the puppies well and helped us with our decision. Their home is lovely and the puppies are clearly raised indoors with the family. When we brought our puppy home, she was so easy to potty train since she already knew the difference between outside and inside. She is currently five months and such a sweet girl. She was in perfect health at her first vet visit and continues to be in the top growth percentile every time we go in for boosters. If we ever want another puppy, we would definitely get it through them again.

I had a pretty good experience with them for years until it was time to put my dog down. I've…read morealways had the male veterinarian and he was great. The female veterinarian that was there didn't speak to me the whole time. She never introduced herself to me and I didn't even know her name until afterwards. She would whisper to the tech and the tech would speak to me. There was zero communication from her on what would happen next in the process. I've never been through this before. I leaned down to console my dog and during that time she gave the meds (without me knowing). When I leaned up from him and it was over. I didn't even get to hold my baby like I wanted to. She walked out and never came back. She showed zero empathy or compassion to my dog or myself. The receptionists and the techs have always been wonderful but because of her I'll never take another pet there again.
