I love this store! Staff is always friendly and as an owner of small animals I really enjoyed their knowledge and advice on piggies and bunnies which is truly rare at all other stores. Michelle is GREAT and always is the go to person for me. She made me rethink my bedding and food choices and my pets are def the better now. I love that many of the pets are rescues too! read more

First off it's not called Pet Kraze. It's Pets Blvd. I tried to correct the Yrlp listing but my edits seem to have been ignored I used to like the place but on my recent visit was pleasantly surprised they got rid of the composting (no flush) urinal - so the bathroom no longer stank of piss.....however I spotted some kind of bugs on the floor 3x this visit and that was enough to make me abandon thee shopping trip. Hopefully they take care of whatever the issue is and I can go back without being grossed out. read more

Came 30 minutes out of my way to get a hamster here after hearing good things about the business it was before, and not wanting to go back to Petco. I called ahead to ask about female hamsters, and they said they couldn't guarantee the gender--which was fine. While talking to the employee about my past experience with wet tail at Petco, she reassured me that all their hamsters were healthy and that there was no chance of any issues. But right as she said that, she went to show me another hamster... and it was dead. She tried to cover it with bedding and quietly put the tank back like nothing happened, but I had already seen and was honestly a little visibly shaken, so she put it aside. She kept showing me the rest like it was normal. I ended up taking one home anyway--her name's Beyoncé and I love her, but it honestly felt more like a rescue than a normal adoption... There weren't many care supply options, and when I mentioned I was waiting for some Niteangel supplies in the mail and needed some stuff to hold her over for the next couple nights, they told me the products in store were so bad I'd be better off without them... which told me enough I don't blame the young girls working, they seemed sweet enough and a pet store isn't ideal for any animal. But definitely would describe the vibe and the whole experience as... strange. read more

I recently decided to try the Grooming Salon for my two dogs. I decided to try it since it is much closer to me than where I normally go. Well lesson learned, if it's not broke don't fix it. I was so disappointed Cj who is a Mini Australian Shepherd, didn't even look like she had a hair cut other than her ears which literally where just chopped... when they gave her back they said her head was still wet because she doesn't like the hair dryer. Well her entire body was damp which caused her hair to really become bushy as it dried! Chloe was cut in 3 different lengths.. though she did not look as bad as Cj... When we left I didn't realize that my husband had given them a $20.00 tip. He really didn't see what I saw until we got home. It cost 140.00 for their grooming 160.00 when you add the tip!!! Oh and their nails were not cut as requested Today 4 days later I was able to go to-my regular groomer and my girls now look beautiful again and worth the extra money I now had to spend. It is worth taking the longer drive to have them done correctly. Clearly we will not be back for any grooming services. We were going to transfer them to your Vet but after this I will stick to what we know. Just wanted to bring this to your attention. read more

I went a bought a guinea pig from here, everything was pleasant. The lovely staff cared so deeply about animals and even said a little goodbye to our girl and gave her a treat for the road. It was a little more expensive than other pet stores but, the animals were very comfortable with hands and very healthy looking! So I don't mind paying extra for hand tamed piggies. The staff were also very knowledgeable! Asking many questions, asking what I fed, if I had another pig, making sure I had a quarantine tank ahead of time and making sure that she was getting proper supplements. read more

Went there today to buy a fish for my son. After waiting in the fish area for 15 minutes and not seeing one employee I walked back up to the register and asked the cashier if there was anyone that could help me. There were three employees standing right next to the register doing nothing. Not one followed me, so I walked back to the fish area with five year old in tow waiting for fish. Still no one came back to help. There were now 3 other families back there also waiting. A second request was made to someone that was wondering around the dog aisle and she also nodded like she was going to meet me back there but no...one again we all waited. After 30 minutes I walked out and told the now four woman employees that were just chatting away at the register that they actually did have customers waiting. Now I have a disappointed kid and lots of aggravation. read more

Ugggg. Had a good experience in there a couple of weeks ago, purchased a fish. It lived. It continues to live. Guy was very nice and helpful, excellent. I really like the tropical jungle with the birds, its great that they let people walk around in there, it's fun. Recently we purchased two dog bones, woman asks if we want a receipt, we decline, then no exaggeration literally one minute later, one minute, didn't get out the front door... I saw a bag of dog bones by the exit that I thought would be better. Same bones, just a big bag of them, a bigger monetary sale for them, more bones, more money. Walk back to the counter with bag of bones and say to the same woman.... the exact same woman that less than a minute earlier sold the two individual bones to us "can I return these and buy a bigger bag? Answer is Nope. I don't have a receipt for the purchase I made ONE MINUTE earlier and she can't do it without a receipt. I literally said "but you personally sold these to me a minute ago and I haven't even left the store". She says nope you need a receipt. We are talking about a ten dollar purchase. I get it, there are rules and probably it's not her fault that she's enforcing them, but I'm fairly sure that some common sense could have been used here. Maybe she should have asked her manager? I don't know. I didn't want a fight over ten dollars. Bottom line. Always take the receipt. I won't go back there on principle. Too bad as I go to Home Depot and Di Ciccios a lot and it is convenient read more

This place does not treat animals well at all. On one occasion not a single animal had water available, I watched a customer fill up the bottles and bowls, without a single employee even coming by to ask what they were doing. Their tortoise lives a miserable life in a tiny space, and on my last visit a customer found a rat just sitting out in the store. It was visibly injured with a very large tumor, and the manager admitted they had lost it a long time ago. She showed no emotion toward its state, and was blocking it with her foot to avoid touching it. No compassion at all for their animals. read more

My $38 check up plus distemper shots for my dog turned into $350! They changed my appointment from a regular $38 visit to a pre-surgery visit- $45 without asking (although I made it clear I was just there for them to look at a lump on his foot/general physical. That's it. When he said my dog needed surgery, I said give me an estimate and I'll think about it). Well then they gave him blood work ($120 for that) and they told me when I went to pay that they couldn't do the surgery until the blood work. Great, but I didn't even decide to do surgery!! They didn't even ask to do the blood, nor told me the cost beforehand. Then I was charged a bunch of things I still have no idea what they are. We mentioned his ears were itching him and asked for him to look at them. Well he did. Plus he plucked the hair, cleaned his ears and did a skin/ear cytology ??? All For an additional charge of $80!! And again they didn't ask me nor tell me about the additional charges. He's going for a groom in 4 days so he didn't need that at all! I just wanted them to look for possible infection. I'm so frustrated and would recommend that if you go there you make it clear your expectations and how much your willing to spend. Otherwise they they won't ask but will rack up your bill without informing you. read more

Very disappointed with this store and the service the staff provides. I bought an animal from this store and everything they told me about the animal was wrong. The bread of the animal was wrong 3lb animal vs 10lb animal size and I was very upset to find out the store does not label the animals correctly. When I called to address the issue they did not care. Very unprofessional for a pet store in 2021. I have a lot of friends with animals in NY and CT that go to this store. Now that this happened they are changing to Petco since the smaller stores don't care about customers and how they sell pets to families. Glad the Vet in the store is not owned by the pet store. The should look into another space for rent since the store is bad for business. The chain stores care about the pets they sell and the customers that receive them 2021. I came here to get a betta fish. The betta fish display included a cup w/ a dead betta, along with several other sick ones. Stupidly, I went ahead picked one that looked like it was in good shape (he was really pretty). He lived a whopping 5 days. I saw a white spot on his fin when I got him home, so I treated him for ich and kept his water nice and warm. His ich went away, but still wasn't looking so hot. So I treated the water for other fungal stuff, but alas- he died and I have learned my lesson. read more
