We were seen by Dr. Grigg and the vet tech, Andie, and I am so glad we decided to come here!!!!!!!! Dr. Grigg is amazing in every way! He was very kind with the girls and definitely made them more comfortable. He also was very cognizant of money when it came time to plan out the next steps for us and made sure we were (1) comfortable with the plan and (2) made sure the plan made sense from both a clinical and financial perspective. Andie was also so kind and helpful. It's an added bonus that prices are *very* reasonable!!!!!!! My Bogie loves it here! We've been bringing him for about 1.5 years and so far, so good. Dr. Madura and her staff are always friendly and happy to see Bo. He's a Boggle-a Boston Terrier and Beagle mix and man, is he loud!! They all know when Bogie is visiting because he howls and "talks" to them. I have taken my pets here several times, and for up until now, it has been fine. With my latest experience though, I felt I had no choice but to write a review. My cat Max has a lump on his back that is growing. We were concerned, as any pet owner would be, so we took him into the Pet Care Clinic in Meridian. When I took Max into the clinic, it was at the tale end of the Covid Virus crises. They had just re-opened their lobby just a few days ago. No one at the clinic wears masks. The doc did not wear a mask either and was coughing. She told us the cough was not Covid related, but how do we know this? She should have worn a mask to re-assure the public. Even if she knows she does not have Covid, the responsible thing to do is wear a mask. This showed me that she does not really care about other people's health. After the exam, the doc told us that Max should have the lump removed, but really did not explain very well what it was or why it should be removed. It would have been nice to know if it was life threatening, cosmetic, or just something good to do, and if there any alternatives to surgery. I scheduled the surgery in spite of not knowing because I trusted that the doc knew best, but now I am not so sure. Have you ever taken your car in for a check up and they recommend some expensive work that you felt was not right? This is how I felt, but I moved ahead with this anyway because I was concerned about Max. No one at the clinic gave me anything as far as either literature or even a talk on how to prep Max for his day under the knife, weather to feed him, or anything like that. I was also not given an estimate, or told anything about the costs. When the big day came, I took Max in. I had to ask about the costs. I was made to wait for them to build an estimate. Why nothing was presented before hand is beyond me. Is their way here to not mention the cost until afterward, present you with the bill, and then you have to pay it because the surgery was already done and you have no choice? When I finally got the estimate, it was just under a grand. If I had known it was going to cost this much, I would have shopped around and got a 2nd opinion. Was this the Pet Care Clinics plan all along? I certainly hope not. Surely this place cares and wants to provide both the pet and the owners with piece of mind, a good plan, decent prices, and alternatives. When I thought about the costs and the Pet Care Clinic's lack of presenting me with anything, I had to go back and pick Max up. If they are this lack luster with prices and prep, how can I possibly trust them with my Max? When I called them to say I could not afford their price, they only told me to come pick Max up. They did not try to persuade me to get the surgery, give me any alternatives, or wish Max well. The feeling I got from all this was that all they care about is the money and really dont care about my cat. If you are considering taking your pet here for any procedure, demand an estimate before, and if the price seems high, shop around! read more

I have mixed experiences on this place. The vet I loved here left the practice. The visiting vet today was solid and fairly priced for the various problems with my dogs. Still the bill was my salary from the week. I personally asked the vet tech, Rochelle, to cover her mouth when she repeatedly coughed with no care to cover. Pet Care Clinic has been a wonderful experience for our family even through tough decisions. We decided to try another vet because our past experiences at another location have been poor. Facility is clean and spacious. Nothing too exciting, but they do have several shopping areas if you are looking for pet supplies. The wait time was very short, but we did have an appointment. I'm not positive on walk-in time, or if they even allow it. The Vet was thorough and sweet with our family. Explained things to use clearly and gave us options going forward. Months later. the clinic turned down my request for a prescription needed to purchase Heartguard from an internet business forcing me to purchase it from their pharmacy. I felt squeezed by a local business. I had a disagreement with the person on the phone and was told to take my business elsewhere by the "Practice Manager". She saved my Pek Bonk's life twice While the clinic is in Meridian and I live in SE Boise, if it's anything other than routine shots for my fur kids I make the drive and take them to her. She is though and takes the time to listen to any concerns I have. My current rescue Pek has a bad eye infection and I stupidly took him to a vet in my side of town who recommended allergy meds. Had the most disturbing thing happen when I took my dog in for a check up today. She's been recovering from a UTI the past week, so naturally the vet wanted to do a follow up to see how things were progressing. They took her back without me, and when they couldn't get her to produce a urine sample, they extracted it from her bladder with a needle!!! Without asking me!!!! I could hear her crying from the waiting room!!! She hasn't been ok, panting excessively and urinating frequently since and I'm furious! First, who even thinks it's ok to practice this barbaric method and second, WITHOUT CONSENT?!!! Warning to everyone who takes their pets here. This is not the first time I've been overly frustrated and did not agree with their practices. Had them recommend a VERY expensive, invasive procedure for another one of my dogs who's currently on hospice. Wanted to do a CAT scan to help decide exactly what was wrong (another vet used a stethoscope), and wanted to put him on all kinds of meds, still giving him less than a year to live even with the $600 in 'treatment'. They will tug on your heart strings, and make you question your loyalty to your pet in tough times. Stick to your guns and always get a second opinion if you do go to them. Several other vets disagree with the practices I've relayed. Save your money and get better service elsewhere. We've only been to this vet once (yesterday) and we are completely obsessed and extremely thrilled to have found a great place we can take our animals. We originally called to get a rash on our dog looked at but after how personable the person who took our call was, we decided to ask if we could squeeze our other dog in when we got there. To our disbelief they were completely flexible and let us bring both dogs into the room and got both dogs all caught up on shots despite our appt being for the rash. After all that, we asked about recommendations for nail trimming places and the vet said they could do that here and she took our dog back and clipped her nails right away!! All the while in the room the vet and the other employees were so friendly to us and our dogs that we felt completely comfortable. Very happy with th and can't wait to bring our cat in next! Very shocked- as a brand new client, i arrived early to fill out paperwork with my dog only to be stared at and ignored entirely by the woman at the front desk who walked across the room, looked at me and kept talking to the same person for 10 minutes. She gave no greeting, no " i will be right with you"....just a rude stare and no contact whatsoever. I waited and waited but finally walked out. The person the staff member was talking to swung around and watched me walk out but still zero contact by this staff member. Totally bizarre and unprofessional. If staff cannot bother to say hello and provide paperwork (I was the last appt of the day) I cannot imagine trusting this clinic with my pet. read more
