My first visit here was pleasant enough. The front desk is very nice and responsive. I liked our initial urgent care experience with Dr. Davis and his tech however, our followup care and appointments were subpar with Dr. Vogel. In addition they charge an absurd amount for X-rays compared to several other clinics around the valley. I felt very dismissed by Dr. Vogel with my concerns which ultimately led to my cat's suffering, her being rushed to the vet hospital, and her being put down while we were overseas. It was a heartbreaking experience that could have easily been avoided if it was handled better by the veterinarian. Listening to your patients/owners and communication, i.e., explaining things, goes a long way. I wish I never would have brought my cat here. She suffered because of it. I lost my best friend and couldn't even say good-bye. read more

I made an appointment on Monday to have my dog seen today and on arrival they told me my appointment was for next week BUT they could see my dog today in Urgent Care for an additional %35.00. Nice SCAM !! Due to my dogs condition I never would have made the appointment that far out. So it's either a scam or a mistake on their part. Either way they should have taken care of my dog and not tried to charge me an additional fee. This isn't the first time this has happened with these guys. Our mini Daushound's snout swelled up and hives broke out all over him. We rushed to Treasure Valley Vet and they quickly got him taken back and taken care of. Wayyyyy overpriced! Just ONE example- K9 vaccine is $50 for the first and another for the booster (which you need both of). Other vets are $20 per vaccine. Everything I've had done there is 2-3x more expensive. The front office staff is super unprofessional. On the plus side- the Vets and vet techs have always been good. Used to be our go to Vet(by the way we had 7 animals and a litter of 8 puppies and cat that passed away) We bought a senior package for one of our dogs who passed away before we could use the services. We took him in to be cremated and inquired about a credit for the $400 we spent on the package(not even a refund but a credit to be used at their facility) they told me the package expired after a year -had not been a year first of all Secondly-they tried to tell me they had done testing on him we had already paid for. They said out of the $400 and some odd dollars they would give us a pro-rated amount of $69 back even though no services had been rendered. I would caution anyone from doing business here, Anyone that will take your money without services being rendered is ridiculous. I personally am disabled and live on a fixed income. Takings care of my fur babies is important to me and I make it a priority financially. $400 to me is a big deal. read more

We been to the Meridian location and Kuna location. We have a sick dog and I called the Kuna location for an appointment and was told nothing until Friday but due to the urgency that I needed to go to the Meridian location and they would take care of us and take walks ins and are open until 10pm. I arrived at 8:30pm and explained to the receptionist and the tech what's going on. The tech went back to talk with vet then receptionist gets a call and she tells me they are too busy with procedures and they can't see us. What?! The clinic was empty! They close at 10pm! Kuna location sent me here! So I left upset and had to pick up my 68lb sick dog and put her back in the car without being seen. read more

We have been taken both of our dogs to Treasure Valley for the past 18 months since moving to Meridian. They were recommended by our neighbors. We have had nothing but good service for our pets health needs. We recently had a issue where our 15 year old Maltipoo was suffering from something that had caused her much diarrhea, some vomiting and eventually she was not eating or drinking. We took her to the urgent the Treasure Valley urgent care Meridian location. After some tests, Dr. Davis recommend that Maggie stay at the hospital and get IV treatment and meds the rest of the day. When we left her, she was listless and was concerned that she wouldn't make it. My wife was a mess. Dr. Davis was certain she would make a recovery with IV and follow up with probiotics and gastroentistinal food. Dr. Davis was very knowledgeable and caring and took time for all of our questions and concerns. We can recommend Treasure Valley. read more

I could make 10 reviews... all 5 stars!! We have used TV for years but it was always for routine care until our pets got older. Now they need more follow up and urgent appointments. Each time we need something, they come through! The front desk has been very responsive and friendly. They always get us in, even when busy! Sometimes they have to get special permission to double book etc but I appreciate their help each time. I have had to leave messages on the phone or by e-mail sometimes so I know they are busy but they always call back as soon as they can. Regarding pricing- we haven't found anyone who is more fair. Health care costs money and they are always on par or LESS than other facilities. Our recent urgent visit is the same - I know there is a premium added for "urgent" visits but if you take that upcharge out of the equation, TV is still better priced for their office visit, blood testing, urine, x rays, and ultrasound (we have had all of this done in the last year or two from TV!). They even give us printed prescriptions when needed so we can take them to mail order or "people" pharmacies and get meds filled at lesser costs when available. I appreciate that they think of our budget and needs as dog parents and not just making a bigger sale. Recently, we took our older dog into another clinic since he needed an urgent visit. Although we were seen in a timely manner and got some testing done at the other office, it was upsetting because the diagnosis and interventions were not accurate. We called Treasure Valley Vet the next day to get a follow up appointment and discuss the new issues. Our normal vet is Dr Tami - she is THE BEST!! Her schedule was full but she squeezed us in, as a favor. She reviewed the other information and come to find out ... our dog needed different treatment than what we were given prior. She saved him ... like literally saved our faithful buddy! Old dogs needs extra love and care and Treasure Valley is there when we need them!! Thank you! We were in need to get our baby seen right away. I had called west vet night before and was told to come in. We drove an hour to them just to be told can't be seen. We were lost I saw this place on way out and decided to try it being they are urgent care as well. Wow! So much different so kind and helpful. We got in and had exceptional care. We use Treasure Valley Vet as our regular vet and they always make me feel like they're listening to what I'm saying and they don't rush us out of the room. They are very thorough and never try to nickel and dime me. We have been going here for 3 years and are very happy. What put the cherry on top was the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, our dog started acting sick. When I got to the urgent care, my dog wouldn't walk and collapsed in the doorway. They immediately called to the back and came and took him right away. I was put in a room immediately and within minutes Dr. Davis came in to let me know they had already done an ultrasound. I was so impressed with their quick response. Unfortunately, our dog had a mass that ruptured and there was nothing that could be done. Dr. Davis was so patient, gentle and caring. He reassured us we were doing the right thing and all through it felt that he genuinely cared. He made sure we knew we were his priority at the moment and we could take as much time as needed to say our goodbyes. We were blindsided by having to put our dog down, but Dr. Davis, the vet tech (i wish i had gotten his name) and the sweet lady at reception were so kind and compassionate and made a really shitty situation a little easier. This place...I don't even know where to start. The most amazing and compassionate staff I have ever encountered. They are conveniently located, parking is great and they demonstrate safe practices. They are friendly and one person particular showed such kindness and understanding when we had to send our family feline over the rainbow bridge (his eternal rest). Pricing, well I moved from another state and let me tell you, you are getting a deal. Less than half the price of other states for the same services. When my regular awesome and affordable vet was out of town, I took my injured chicken to Treasure Valley Vet on Monday hoping for some help. I was very disappointed in our experience. We were a walk-in and waited for hours while literally everyone else (walk-ins and scheduled) was seen. Finally, a vet spoke to us for about 4 minutes. She informed me xrays started at $225 and had little else to say unless I asked specific questions. The answers weren't very helpful. They did what they call "triage" initially where they looked at my chicken and determined she wasn't in dire condition. I'm sure they knew at that point they would want xrays and I wish they would have told me their base xray price of $225 then because I would have left at that point. Their later estimate for 'exam,' xrays, possible wrapping (which was not a solution and the vet said might do more harm than good) and pain drops came to over $500. I declined their estimate and was still charged over $100 for no assistance whatsoever. Unless you have a large pocket book and a lot of time to spend waiting, I would not recommend Treasure Valley Vet. read more

It pains me to leave this review but people deserve to know what happened. I called TVVH before getting my dog spayed and simply asked "How much does it cost to spay my dog?" I mentioned my dog was in heat and we never been there before. They gave me a range of ~$340 - $380. Okay. This comprised of two visits. They charged my wife the first visit of $166, the doctor didn't mention this was an extra cost but my wife paid assuming this was part of the ~$340-$380 estimate and assumed TVVH was considerate of peoples' finances, like some businesses are. On the second visit they wanted to charge me an additional $352.62, which totals to $518.62 plus more in tax. Eric Rust, one of the owners, comes out angry with me, because I was angry with them, and I said I budgeted for the estimate they gave on the phone and I was willing to pay the estimate they gave me on the phone. He threatened me and said " then we'll send the rest to collections!" at least a couple times. They strong-armed me into paying the full amount. I responded and said I'll have to add a google review about this cause people have to know. He responded and said "then I'll get a lawyer!". Ha, funny! We end up settling for $451.48 plus tax, which is still over the estimate, after they gave me a $63.00 discount. Eric acted like he deserved a medal for this generosity. They said the $166 was an blood work exam fee was NOT part of the spay surgery fee. BUT then they said they CAN'T DO the spay WITHOUT the blood work! In the real world, this is considered part of the cost for spaying a dog. They couldn't even let me know of this cost before I came in if they knew I had to get blood work done! To my lesser judgment, I ended up calling him back later on the phone to apologize for the mix-up but to firmly remind him he shouldn't be doing this to customers, I put him on speaker-phone so my wife can let him know that her experience with the staff and doctor wasn't exactly ideal to go along with over-charging us. We were totally calm and factual and I think Eric frustrated himself into ending the conversation saying my wife was "insulting" and being completely rude to her. We wanted to help him improve his business by giving him some of our experiences and to make amends from the afternoon before, despite before threatened AND over-charged. I didn't even ask him for money back. So I was over-charged, threatened with collections, threatened with a lawyer, rude service and rude to my wife. I highly recommend a different Vet. I hope the owner responds and see whether or not he simply refutes ever saying those things that I quoted("") him or if he apologizes and admits wrong-doing. We'll see. read more

First off, the two stars is because staff here are always kind and friendly. The bad: I have asked about the cost of services prior to the appointment, and more than once have been over charged. Once by +$100, which at first I was told was accurate, but after my husband went back in and complained the excuse was they used the wrong code for billing. This was resolved with a credit to our account. I have a litter of puppies and needed health certificates for transport: I asked about the cost of this during an appointment, which I was told was $25 per pup. When we called later to confirm and schedule, the price went up to $95 per pup. This is fairly annoying when you are juggling the expenses of a litter and you rely on your vet's prices for your budgeting. The final straw, however, was that I called on a Saturday morning because my dog had mastitis and needed antibiotics right away. Since I didn't have an appointment already I was told to go to WestVet, which as I am sure TVVH is aware has a 4+ hour wait in the parking lot for "non-emergency" patients and charges a premium for their service. I called around and found Intermountain Pet Hospital was willing to take us on standby until they could fit us in between other appointments, for which a premium added to the normal visit cost was $39, and the wait time turned out to be about an hour in the lobby. Staff here were super nice and considerate. The Dr. saw my dog for about 20 minutes and we were out the door with the needed prescriptions. Why can't TVVH help their established patients in this way? Too overbooked or not enough vets? Seems like a management issue to me. I will never return to TVVH again, unfortunately, and had been a client here for several years. read more

They were fantastic! Got home from vacation and found a large abscess on our cats neck. They were able to get us is, as a new customer, within the same day and was able to fix the abscess without a problem. They seem to really care here. They follow up with phone calls or emails to check on your babies' progress. They don't rush you out of the examination room. They are generally much cheaper than the places I've tried around the area. They also seem to not just pressure you into an expensive procedure. They consider the needs of the dog and your pocketbook. I have two dogs- one is calm as can be- you can stick him with a needle or stick a thermometer in an uncomfortable place and he won't have a fit. My other one can and will have a fit. They accommodate both of their temperaments and are loving to both. They also are understanding when you are emotional and concerned about your little furry family members. The office is clean and welcoming. I highly recommend this place. read more

The businesses website link for their Kuna office brought us to an Merdian address. I called the office at 10 till 2pm and said we can't find the building. I told the person on the phone that the link to map quest came from their site. She said sounds like you are in Meridian. I said ok., we will have to go get redirected and would be then late for the appointment. She said if you are more then 10 minutes late they would have to reschedule. I then explained we were new to the area and the address link came from their website. I then told her my dog was ill and needed to be seen Today. The next available appointment for both of their offices was Thursday. I said my dog is sick., she said I understand but we are booked. gee...thanks. Such bad service from the start. Just got a new fog and took it in for a check up. The staff was friendly and professional. Was particularly impressed with Dr. Hondo, she wss so patient and gentle. What an awful experience. I bought my dog to get spayed today and it appears that they changed the price I was quoted over the phone. I found out that they just changed ownership. The staff seemed clueless and unorganized. After agreeing to the new price, I left her there. My poor dog decided she was more hungry for my kid's toys and various chunks of garbage than she was for her dog food. So low and behold she ended up in surgery cutting mini toys out of her gut. I did some calling around and these guys were much more reasonable than some. To her to a pet Hospital and they gave me the hard sell and guilt trip like a I was killing my dog if I didn't let them take her right then. That's why I shopped around a bit.. I've been bringing my dogs here for a little over a year now, was always friendly and professional. I was told you pay for an exam for each dog once a year. I took 2 of my dogs in to get rabies vaccine. One of the dogs was seen 11 months ago. They told me they charged me the exam fee because he was going to have to be examined in a couple of weeks anyways. WOW, they say he is good for a year then 11 months later charge me again. I particularly want to thank Megan for taking a first look at the rooster despite her early child traumas from roosters and Dr. Wardwell for his kind examination of our chickens. I recently moved to the Boise valley. In searching for a Veterinary for my little Lhasa Apso, I wanted to keep it close to home. I tried a clinic and it did not work out for Copper. The veterinary seem to be a little bit afraid of him even though he's a little dog. I am sure vets get bitten,zero but I was holding him. I didn't ever feel as though we were trying to get to the bottom of his skin issues. Did put him on some medication that really has helped his skin but it's like liquid gold! $$$ Copper continues to develop yeast infection in his feet and I took him to Treasure Valley Veterinary and had the opportunity to have doctor Hondo-Rust as his vet. She was absolutely amazing! She was patient with him she recognized that he has some anxiety and tried her best to minimize any kind of anxiety that you might have. She was a breath of fresh air for me! I would recommend anyone new to the valley or anyone looking for a new Veterinary to seek out Dr. Hundo-Rust. She was great; but Megan was great; the staff was just very helpful. It was a pleasant experience in a situation where Copper was not doing well. Thank you, thank you, thank you! DO NOT TAKE any avian to this vets office not only did they really not take the time to really examine the animal but got upset when I took her to another vet during the weekend thinking I might have to put her to sleep. Then the Dr. called me to let me know she was aware I had gone to an emergency vet not because she was concerned about the bird but to inform me they had given me medication that would make it so I could never eat her eggs again. I am going to an actual AVIAN VET today since my duck is still struggling !
