We had to euthanize our 17 year old cat today, and have been dreading this day for years. We needed a compassionate vet, and I'm so grateful I found Dr. Allen. She was so incredibly kind and we could tell she genuinely cared and felt for us. She guided us step by step through the process, gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye and made sure we were ready for each step. We'd initially scheduled her for 4 pm, and our fur baby started declining fast the night before. She rearranged her morning appointments so she could come earlier, and at the time we requested. That meant so much to us, especially since we're a new client - she didn't even know us. Her paw print box is the sweetest keepsake and we appreciated the beautiful basket she carried our baby out in. It had a blanket to cover him which almost felt like a burial. Euthanasia feels impossibly heavy, awful, and sad. We discovered today that choosing the right vet is so, so important. We'll never call anyone but Dr. Allen.

She was 16 years and 7 months old. Treatment with IVs would have been stressful, may not have helped, and her kidneys would have failed again. Sweet Dreams has designed a Memorial Garden where Sweetheart's ashes will be scattered for future visitations. They now have their own cremation facility.

Oliver passed calmly, at home, in his favorite spot, surrounded by love. I'm deeply grateful for their kindness and professionalism.
