Deserves no stars. I found a cat I liked at PetSmart and I asked staff if the cat was available…read more They said yes. Ok great. We applied. Three weeks later, NO communication and we heard NOTHING. Unfortunately, the shelter called us and said they messed up our application and gave the cat away to someone else. Huh?? BUT they said they have a new litter coming in and to check them out. Ok great. We check out the new litter and . Two out of the five were already adopted somehow, despite getting the cats literally an hour ago. They didn't have name tags out and they weren't even set up yet. HOW?! There was one I really liked. Once again, I asked if the cat was available and they said yes. I told them I'll apply. I also called the shelter to make sure and yup the cat is available. Not even 5 minutes later, they called me back and were like "yeah.... Sorry, that cat is already adopted too." I get a call later at night from the friends I put as references telling me the shelter talked to them for application but sounded disorganized. At this point, there is no cat we applied for that was available, as both of them went to other families. Who were they calling for?! It's extremely sketchy. Finally, they called us AGAIN and told us to come in one more time. We gave up at that point, but went just for the hell of it, once again, basically all the cats are adopted already. They instructed us to go to their actual shelter (this was all PetSmart) and we were like NOPE. I refuse to give these irresponsible people money. I hope the animals have great care because this place cannot be trusted. HORRIBLE experience, AVOID and go somewhere else.

We adopted 6 cats from Walden but they were located in PetSmart of Middletown. The process there was easy and seamless and we have nothing but good reviews for that process with the exception that sometimes they don't have volunteers during the times that they list and my wife and I wait around for an hour or so for someone to show up... The Walden shelter was difficult as well to get a hold of people or adopt a dog. The had a manager I believe Jessica or Jennifer and I could be wrong completely but she no longer works there. She tried to adopt out a dog to us that was "aggressive" and a "fear biter" and the dog needed to be worked with and trained before given her to a home with kittens. When we tried to explain this after our initial visit it became hard to adopt a different dog. Once we were able to agree to fostering a different dog, they shelter forgot we had the dog. It took almost a month to get a hold of them and get the necessary paperwork in the dog. We are happy with our fur baby and grateful we saved him from that shelter as they forgot about him after making us seem like bad adopters when we wouldn't home a dog they were trying to push off on us and growled and nipped at us in our visit.

*******ZERO STARS*******…read more DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE (MILFORD, PA) The woman who "helped" us today had the bedside manner of a Nazi concentration camp guard. We were so in shock with grief we allowed her to direct us to put our animal on a steel scale, without his towel, RIGHT NEXT TO THE OVEN. He died weighing 6 pounds, significantly under their cutoff for the first level of pricing. Why was this necessary????? HIGHLY TRAUMATIZING. After the paperwork was signed, she said, "You'll have it back tomorrow". It? Really? Our beloved pet? Don't get me started on the plain white tin. They have a nice display where they rip you off on the prices of decent boxes and urns. After we got back to the car, my husband raced back in and retrieved our cat's body (and our check). We took him to our usual vet clinic, which is WONDERFUL (Wallenpaupack Vet Clinic) where we and our cat were treated with the kindness and respect we would have expected. Our wonderful cat will be cremated by the good folks at Abbey Glen in NJ (who have cremated most of my companion animals). (And for the same price.) This is an update from a review I wrote previously. I do not have enough good things to say…read more I have now been here twice with very different outcomes, though both ended exactly as they "should." The first time was 6 years ago with my dog who was bitten by a venomous snake on a hike. By all accounts, he should have died. They absolutely saved his life and kept me updated every step of the way (it was covid, so I couldn't even go in with him). He had to stay overnight for 2 nights and the vet even called me at 10pm with progress reports. They gave me an estimate range, and while it's expensive to save your dog from a copperhead snake bite, the bill actually came in at the very lowest end of the range. They were phenomenal. My dog fully recovered and is happy and healthy. Today, I visited again with my 15 year old cat who needed to be put down suddenly and our local vet was closed. Once again, they could not have been more thoughtful in how they handled us and our beloved cat. The vet explained things clearly and sensitively. Immediately, they offered to sedate him in the exam room with us so that he wouldn't have to be scared and taken away. They brought in a bed for him and we were able to be with him and pet him until the end. It was the least stressful it could have been for our cat. Every staff member was sensitive, respectful, and accommodating. I'm incredibly grateful. Two of the worst days of our lives could have been much, much worse without the care we received.

I am deeply disturbed by the dishonest billing practices and dismissive customer service at VCA…read moreFlannery Animal Hospital. During our visit, the vet explicitly advised me that blood work was necessary to properly diagnose my pet. I was given a financial estimate that included this blood work, which I explicitly agreed to and authorized. At discharge, I was charged the full amount of that estimate. Because no one discussed the lab findings with me, I assumed the results were still pending and that I needed to call back. When I called for the results, I was shocked to be told that the blood work was never actually performed. To make matters worse, the staff insultingly claimed that I had "declined" the service--which makes absolutely no sense given that I paid for it based on the required care outlined by their own vet. When I tried to address this blatant error, the front desk staff was incredibly condescending and dismissive, giving off a "deal with it" attitude. Charging a pet owner for diagnostic procedures that were never performed--and then shifting the blame onto the client--is entirely unacceptable. Check your receipts carefully if you bring your animals here.

He helped me with a very…read moreunusual and deeply personal situation, and the compassion, kindness, and professionalism he showed throughout the entire process were extraordinary. I am preparing to move out of state, and my beloved cat had been buried in my backyard for more than ten years. As the move approached, I realized how difficult it was going to be for me to leave her remains behind, particularly knowing I would no longer have any control over what might happen to that part of the property in the future. I reached out to Victor to see if there was any possibility of recovering her remains and having them cremated so that I could take her with me. Victor could not have been more understanding. He traveled a considerable distance to help me, carefully recovered her remains, had them respectfully cremated, and returned to me. At every step, he treated both me and the situation with tremendous sensitivity and respect. He never made an admittedly unusual request feel unusual - he simply understood that this was important to me and wanted to help. What Victor did brought me an enormous amount of peace of mind. After more than a decade, I now have my cat's ashes and will be able to bring her with me when I move and keep her always. Victor provides a truly special service for people who love their animals and understand that the bond we have with them doesn't simply disappear when they are gone. I am incredibly grateful to him and would recommend Pets To Remember without hesitation to anyone looking for compassionate and respectful aftercare for a beloved pet.
