Honestly I was very anxious about moving our Dog & Cat from Texas to London. But Jane & Jillian were both amazing. We missed the travel window to fly direct from Dallas to London (As LHR was full and you can't fly pets out of Dallas after 1st June), so we had to send them Dallas t Houston to Amsterdam to Manchester to London. A long and stressful trip for any of us, never our furry family members. Our pets arrived safe and sound. A little confused and tired; but nothing to be surprised after 4 days travelling. I can't recommend Pet Express more highly. I reached out to a few companies when my friend, Cindy, was turned away from her flight to Hong Kong because she hadn't followed the proper procedures to travel with her two dogs (she had been living in LA but was moving home to HK). Cindy had given up her home, given away or shipped her possessions, had no family in Los Angeles, and is legally blind - all combining to make it a dire situation. While the other companies were slow to respond (or replied by automated emails), Alicia from Pet Express called me as soon as she saw my emails, realizing that this was a critically timed situation and she really just jumped in. Her guidance was remarkable. Cindy was in a hotel, and with her visual disability, dealing with the forms and process was a challenge, but Alicia and her team patiently walked us through every step. And we made it all the more challenging since I started the process but then was traveling, so THREE other friends of Cindy's all jumped in to help out - adding to the communication chain. But again, Alicia and her team dealt with every challenge and kept us all in the loop. They worked effectively with Cindy's vet to get all of the forms, measurements, breed info and so much more to make the process go smoothly. And while other companies said it could take 2-3 months (or longer), and many charged more than DOUBLE what Pet Express did, they expedited the process (at no extra change) and Cindy and her dogs were on a flight to Hong Kong in less than a month! And this could have been an incredibly stressful situation for Cindy and her dogs - but Pet Express assured it was stress-free! And the care of the dogs was always of paramount importance to them. They worked with us to be sure they were well-cared for, comfortable, and that their medical needs were also attended to (one is on meds). They made the drop-off process so easy. Cindy felt do comfortable leaving her "babies" in their care. And the delivery to her apartment in Hong Kong was timely and professional and the dogs arrived safely. Pet Express even took the time to share photos once the dogs were in their spacious and comfortable crates - and the dogs were drinking and eating right away, so we could tell both dogs were comfortable! As we just used pet express to move our dog from the States to Europe I could of not had a worse experience. To start there is already plenty of stress on a family of five with the move and our dog is seen as the 6th member of the family. We entrusted pet express to make this as stress free as possible and actually had the adverse effect. The lack of professionalism and sense of urgency was extremely disappointing. The service provided worried more about the up-charge than getting my dog's ticket booked. They rescheduled the ticket three times because they waited till the last minute and in the end the dog had to fly three days later than us. We were lucky to have family help us out. I would not entrust pet express to move my dog who is a member of our family again. They are more worried about up-charging than ensuring your animal gets there fast and safely. read more

Absolutely Superb... Having no clue how to get my 15mth old Terrier pup from Los Angeles to Sydney, a friend referred me to PetExpress. Initial contact was a chat with Scott walking me through the process, I was sold from there. The next call was some more information from Amanda and a thorough walkthrough of what I needed to do with Bruce (my pup). From there check-ins when I needed to do something with him - shots/vet appointments, etc etc. I honestly have no idea how I would have done this without Amanda, Scott, Therese, Jeri, Sean and Co. It's a huge process and they made it easy. And they also managed the introduction and information with the local company handling his transit from Melbourne to Sydney. The big things for me were explanations (telling me to the letter what I needed to do), able to contact them any time, comfort as it's a 10-15 day process. I was moving to Australia for at least a year for work. I reached out to a bunch of different agencies in the fall of 2022. By January 2023, I narrowed it down to two different agencies including Pet Express. I went with them because they were a bit cheaper. Plus they were very responsive and always on top of emailing me. However, the day after I gave them the deposit, Australia changed their policy. Pet Express claimed that they were not aware they were going to do this. Even though that is their job. For months I was stuck in a holding period wondering if I was able to bring my cats or not. Pet Express stopped following up with me. I always had to reach out to them. It is like right when they got my money, they stopped caring. I am living in Australia now without my cats because it was not worth the new policy and it got more expensive to bring them for one year. Pet Express never reached out to follow up or offer my money back. If you are between agencies and one is just a bit more, go with that one. Pet Express has managed the relocation of my two cats for me from LA to Melbourne, and I couldn't be happier with the service they have provided. They walked me through every step of the way, and were compassionate and understanding during what is a complex and traumatic process. Sending a beloved pet home is difficult enough at the best of times, but this last year of pandemic, and all of the problems that has caused with airlines, with quarantine and so would have been nearly impossible to negotiate without their help. This was a terrible experience. I had reservations about using a pet service, but we were moving to Australia and it seemed like the regulations were too much to handle, and our vet insisted on us using a third party. Pretty much all of the reviews here are accurate. Pet express nickel and dimes you, doesn't communicate very well (Cassandra was pretty much the worst), charged me 1600USD for a feline to fly in cargo, the cat showed up on a public holiday and needed to fly again, charged me extra for a crate... the whole thing is a mess. It's just completely inept over there. Use another service, you won't regret the decision of having your pet arrive safely and happy. read more

Having initially thought we would manage the paperwork and booking for taking our 2 year old English Springer Spaniel Bobby from California to London, we realized regulations and requirements was somewhat confusing so we contacted Pets Express for their advice. They were extremely helpful with explaining the new procedures and options available for flights, and were totally understanding that I wanted to be on the same flight as our fur baby! The photos are very upsetting for most people so be warned. Let me start by telling you that two months ago I had two beautiful, healthy dogs and now I have none. We relocated back to the UK from the USA two months ago and the whole experience was hell on Earth. What they don't tell you is that they contract out to other companies. When I asked for pictures of my dogs where they were staying for the 3 days required it was shock and horror. It was disgusting and then you find out you are more dealing with multiple companies. When our dogs arrived in Amsterdam (due to Brexit) we then got a call to say one of our dogs wasn't 'very well' and was taken to the vets. Two hours later she had died. She had just turned 1. We still do not have her ashes back. We're finally managed to get our other dog home to us who wash soo traumatized by the whole ordeal attacked my dads dog. He was 7 years old and never ever done anything like that before and is now in a rehab facility after me begging not to euthanize him. There were our life. Our beautiful babies. We still have no answers or explanations or even my baby girls ashes. I will not stop until I get justice's and make others aware. read more

So I would like to state upfront that I did not use this company!! I have not done business with them directly, I only requested a quote for their services. Having said that.... I was so shocked and appalled by the quote that I had to come to YELP and share my findings. I fly with my dog all over the world. We bought him in Spain, and I live in California and Australia, meaning he is a flying veteran. When I fly with my dog it costs between $150-300. The MOST I ever paid was $600 and that was because Swiss Air is super strict. Anyway, the dog flies as cargo and the process is relatively simple! This company quoted me $1740.50!!!! The ONLY difference is that I'm not on the plane. He will be dropped off at the gate by us, like usual, and we will do the paperwork, like usual. For that amount of money my dog should be picked up at my house in a limo with some fine bitches, fly in the cabin of the plane, get 3 square meals, AND a bath and blow dry!!! They don't help with the vet, the paperwork, or the transport... so how on earth can they justify such an outrageous price?!? So, like I said, they did not get my business. They might be a good company, but I'm not willing to pay $1740.50 to find out!! read more

So I just shipped my 4 dogs from Orange County CA to England Manchester. It costed me around $5400 just for the flight and for them to sort out my paper work, I obviously took care of all the vet bills, which I would say brought it up another 1000. I don't really care about the price I just wanted my "children" to be taken care of! So I dropped them or at the new location in LAX, Sandi was there to greet me, it was sad but it was a lovely and clean location, then they went on there two day travel to Manchester, everything went smooth, and I was always updated, Cassandra was extremely communicative with me! So overall I entirely enjoyed the service they provided, the only reason I give a 4 star instead of a 5 was because they didn't travel the same day I did which just prolonged the whole journey when it didn't need to be that long also I was really wanting a direct flight and they didn't provide that. BUT these experts do know an important detail or two that google won't tell you - details that will determine whether your pets will wind up in unnecessarily long periods of quarantine in the destination country. Moreover in terms of pricing, Pet Express does charge rates which are comparable to other pet movers I have called. I selected them because (i) my vet recommended this pet mover, and (ii) Pet Express provided a detailed breakdown of the services it provided and the charges associated with each service. So essentially I got what I paid for - hassle free customs clearance, prompt consultation on import/export permit certification requirements, and most importantly that, BOTTOM LINE, my pets are safely home :o). With their experience in getting all the documents ready, my pets cleared the customs at the destination within an hour. In terms of customer service, the staff there are friendly and efficient - and they do care for your pets. She said they usually ship dog for moving purposes but asked if I can explain my situation and see how she can help me. If I could give these people ten stars, I would! :-) My miniature service horse just left on his final leg of his journey from Chicago to Hawaii. I can't thank Scott and Adrienne enough. Adrienne was AMAZING! She texted me, emailed me and responded immediately to any questions that I had. She even sent me photos and videos of Little Sprinter eating and walking around so that I would know he was okay. Adrienne kept me calm in a stressful situation and Sprinter seemed very happy with her as well! They bonded quickly! This morning when he left, I was very concerned that his tracking didn't show him on his final flight to Hawaii, so I frantically texted Adrienne and she called the cargo facility to confirm that he was on the place immediately. She's my friend for life now :-) I'm recommending everyone to use use your service from now on. I know people that ship out of CA all the time to Hawaii and Australia, etc. Please let her know how much everything she did meant to me and to my service mini horse. First off, I cannot begin to explain the utter disdain and disappointment I have for this company that should NEVER be allowed to do business again. If you can think of the worst situation minus your dogs being dead upon arrival, read this. I called Pet Express to get a quote from them as they work with Lufthansa, and while 3200 for two dogs was steep, I will willing to pay it to have my two labs shipped from SFO to Dublin via Frankfurt, making the person taking care of the dogs have to drive an extra 8 hours so that the dogs could have the shortest flight possible. Then the horror of actually working with them began. First off, their knowledge of how to ship my dogs was non existant. It was only because I went out of my way to contact the USDA office in the states and find out the exact regulations (a service that is supposed to be provided for you) that my vet could even figure out the unnecessary paperwork that Pet Express was sending her. In addition, they sent a form to my vet that took 5 hours to complete that was completely unnecessary (unfortuantely I didn't catch THEIR error in time) and I ended up having to pay the extra vet bill. Kindly the USDA stamped it for me for free because they were so disgusted with Pet Express that they felt sorry for me even though they too informed me that it was no longer a required travel document. It took me over ONE WEEK (this is on a two week time period of trying to get everything handled with the dogs) with 8 emails being sent to my contact person in San Franciso to even get one reply, and that was only to confirm my payment. I finally called, and after call number 5 (keep in mind I had to call THEM from Ireland to even get through) I finally received the details that I needed to get the paperwork started. Then, 15 hours before the person with my dogs was supposed to meet them at 9 am (which also changed times four times in two weeks) I got an email asking for them to be there at 8:30. I had to call at 2 in the morning in the US to make sure the person would be there a half hour earlier. On top of all this, and to me one of the worst, I paid for them to have a comfort stop in Frankfurt where they would be let out to walk around, go to the bathroom, etc. IT NEVER HAPPENED! SO MY DOGS WENT 24 HOURS IN A CRATE WITH NO ATTENTION WHATSOEVER. They were traumatized upon arrival, and while they did arrive safely, Pet Express had nothing to do with it. In general, I was really happy with Pet Express (and Tisha in particular). We needed to move our 14-year-old pug Murray from Atlanta, GA to Dublin, Ireland. At first, it seemed like we were doing a lot of the work ourselves. However, they did keep us informed of everything we needed to do, so we were never in the dark, which was reassuring for first-timers like us. But then two days before Murray's flight, we got hit with a heat embargo. It wasn't safe for Murray to fly. Pet Express worked with us and our vet tirelessly to find alternatives. Ultimately, I drove Murray up to San Francisco, close to the Pet Express office, because that was the coolest place with an international airport. Pet Express really kicked into gear at that point. Tisha recommended a hotel for us to stay at in town, she got the paperwork sorted out, and she even got a vet to come into the office to get Murray ready. They treated him like a celebrity when he came to the office. I expected to have to do a lot while I was there, but Murray and I spent a relatively relaxing time in San Francisco (after a four-day cross-country drive!) They even understood when I cried after he went to go get ready for his flight. We got updates and pictures of his progress, and the biggest complaint Murray had when he arrived was a spilled water dish. Great service for a highly complex and chaotic situation. So glad I chose them! My cats made it from San Francisco to a little city in Mexico with no issues, and they arrived in very good shape; better than i imagined they would be. If you are exporting internationally, the paperwork must be exact and up to date, otherwise the consequences are pretty unpleasant to say the least. They are very much on top of all the details that doing it yourself you would not be able to be. I would give them five stars if they had chosen a direct flight from San Francisco rather than a connecting one, and provided me more frequent updates - but overall they handled everything very well, got my cats through customs in Mexico (which can be very tricky to do) and I am grateful i can recommend them. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Besides being incredibly overpriced and a complete rip-off, the staff was condescending, rude, and responded days later to e-mails/calls. Even my vet and roommate (who assisted in the pick-up of my pet) commented on how awful the "pet transport specialist" treated them. I used this service to transfer my cat from Chicago, IL to Dublin, Ireland. The pet transport specialist, besides being incredibly rude, did not review my paperwork correctly (which is outlined as her responsibility in the contract). I asked her multiple times if everything was set to go, and even spoke with her on the phone the day before we were to depart. She ensured me everything was ready to go. However, the paperwork was incomplete and because of this my cat had to be transported to and from the airport multiple times and boarded overnight in a kennel.Worst of all, they charged me an extra $375 for the transport/boarding!!!!! So, the total cost of his transport ended up being $1950!!! Even more disturbing was when I saw the airline's paperwork for my cat's flight cost and it was only $740. So where in the world did the other charges come from??? Because they obviously did not do the paperwork, so what did I pay for??? read more
