Located at 13 mile and Southfield Rd, this store is tucked in a busy shopping center but don't let that deter you -- this place is spacious and so clean! I am a dog mom so I very much appreciate all the various dog toys, treats options, clothing, medications, etc that is sold here. You can essentially find anything you may possibly need. I'm struggling to write this because I love Premier Pet Supply- we've been shopping with them for years and we have always been advocates for supporting local business. Today's visit was chaotic. We used to frequent the West Bloomfield location, but recently moved to the area, so we figured this would be our new home location. Today was our first visit. It was also the first day of the customer appreciation/ anniversary sale. And it was a Peticured nail day. This might have just been the perfect storm. My dog is mildly dog-reactive while on leash. This means that when he sees another dog while he is on a leash he starts barking. He's not aggressive, he just can't focus on anything else until he can meet the other dog, and he gets frustrated when he can't. I had been watching the Peticured online queue throughout the afternoon to find a time when it was quiet. We waited for the queue to fall from 9 to 3 people before reserving ourselves a spot. Once it was nearing our turn we got our hot dog treats and headed out. From the parking lot I could already see it was going to be chaotic. People were hovering by the entrance, in the parking lot, and inside. For those paying attention to the global pandemic that is still very much happening- people were going in and shopping WITHOUT wearing masks. I watched 4 different people walk right in and shop without masks, without any kind of enforcement from any employee in a 15 minute window. People were also not socially distancing, and it was also NOT enforced. The only redeeming thing about this visit was that employees of both Premier Pet and Peticured were wearing masks. For anyone looking for a mask- they do sell Premier-branded gaiters at the cash register. Once we finally found our way to the Peticured table (they set up immediately to the right of the entrance when you walk in) we got our dog up on the table. I explained the reactivity situation, just so she wouldn't be surprised if he barked. The nail trim went well, no issues. They accept payments via square on an iPad, so you are basically contactless. As we were nearing the end of our visit, people started hovering. The whole point of the online queue was to have people wait their turn and not gather. We were suddenly surrounded by people and their dogs just hanging out and waiting for their turn. It was stressful. I had my dog on a 3-ft leash and people were still within our little "bubble". Again, no one was enforcing and kind of social distancing. We will be going out of our way to go back to the West Bloomfield location where they are enforcing social distancing and the people are actually considerate of others. This was just too chaotic. I do not recommend this location in the afternoon/ early evening if you are socially distancing. FYI, if you have a yappy chihuahua that lunges and barks at people or things, your dog is reactive. Aside from this awfully chaotic visit, I still do recommend Premier Pet Supply. These guys work hard, do their research, and are willing to help you find whatever it is you are looking for- whether that is a product, a a service, or a resource. They do really great work in the community and give back to many great organizations. We will continue to support them, just not at this particular location. read more

My mom and I have been coming here for years for almost all of our pet supplies. They cater to a lot of different pet needs like cats, dogs, fishes, ferrets, koi fish/ponds, bunnies, chinchillas and they even have a store pet tortoise, Winston, who can be seen walking about or napping in the back near the fish tanks. The staff here is super helpful and can tell you just about anything in their store. Speaking of the store, the inside is a lot bigger than it appears from the outside. They recently moved some aisles around and it's really opened up the space. They also have some of the best pet finds here too! Like I can find a lot of safe and natural jerky treats and chews for my boys and not have to worry about them swallowing anything harmful. And the last time I was here I saw cat and dog wine, haha! Be sure to check out their cool punch card for dog food (probably on all pet food but check first and do not quote me on that lol), after you buy 10 bags you get your next bag free :) !!!!! read more

I called this afternoon at 2:30pm to see if they had my cat Bella's cat food in stock. Dry available, moist had to be ordered. They are offering free delivery right now for purchases over $25. They told me 24-48 hrs for delivery, which is more than reasonable. A little before 6pm, a car pulled into my driveway. It turned out to be the Premier Pet Supply owner Mike Palmer. Cannot add much that isn't already here so all I can really say is that I concur 100% with everyone else. The selection of everything you can think of for your pet is as good as it gets. They also have fish and reptiles as well as regular dog and cat adoptions. If they don't happen to have it they will get it for you with a smile. The service is the absolute best you will find, not just in any other pet store, but in any other business I have frequented. Oh, and they added a couple of dog washes when they remodeled that look pretty awesome. Lastly, Mike the owner, likes to give back to the local community. He and his team have been at my son's Elementary School every year introducing the kids to different animals. My dog, Luna, loves this store. She gets a very warm welcome with lots of pets and scratches from k-9's and staffers alike. The staff is knowledgable, the facility is clean, and the treats are at Luna's level. These days with PetSmarts on every corner, I am often tempted to shop there for the sake of convenience but I highly recommend making a special trip to premier pet supplies. If you could see the contentment in Chubs' (my 2.5yr old golden retriever) eyes right now, you would love this place too. This is the place where we found her best friend, Hedgy. Hedgy is the size of basketball. It squeaks and goes with her everywhere. Hedgy somehow ended up in the middle of Maple one day! :( She often falls asleep with Hedgy gently tucked in between her jaws. Don't worry Hedgy is fake. Merely a stuffed animal-- she actually has four Hedgys but doesn't know it (one for my parents cottage and one for their house and of course.. two back-ups). Her relationship with Hedgy is absolutely precious. When Hedgy 1.0 first was found in Maple- my dad went to Premier Pet Supply and they were out.. the man understood the dire straits (think Busy Bee situation from Best in show) my dad was in, and ordered more Hedgys for Chubs. They also get the cutest Halloween costumes for pups-- even though Chubs would NEVER allow that. I would strongly recommend bringing your pooch to this place. read more

Every time I shop here, I'm always impressed with staff & customer service. I felt like they needed an updated review! Staff is consistently nice and eager to help. I'm always asked if I need help loading the giant bags of dog food in my car. There is never a shortage of staff willing to help either. I feel like that's not very common these days, especially in chain stores. It really seems like they enjoy what they do and helping customers. I realize I already mentioned this in my original review, but I really do appreciate the huge variety of dog treats that are healthy, made in the USA, as well as some grain-free options. There is no comparison with the chain stores. I pleasantly surprised to save $10 at the register tonight with my rewards points (I think that's what she said). Awesome! There isn't a pet store in the area that stands behind the products they sell more so than Premier. I've been going there now for a few year and have never had a bad experience, I always leave happy. I did have a problem about a year ago where the food I was feeding my cats had changed and they wouldn't eat it anymore. Premier stood behind the product, contacted the local rep for the food manufacturer and even gave me trial packages of other foods to help me find something my cats would eat. My whole family shops there even though it is a bit out of the way for all of us but it's definitely worth it. read more

It embodies everything you want your neighborhood pet store to be, hell I have come in here when I didn't even own pets! Yes you will pay a little more than at a big box chain, but that is expected, and I am happy to do so to support this business. You ill also find a lot of unique, specialty products here that you will not see at those big box chains. Their inventory is massive. They have a washing station in the back with towels and shampoo if you have a smaller pet. In addition, on the weekends they host adoption events for several local rescue leagues. In a world of Petcos and Petsmarts, the Beverly Hills Premier Pet Supply is a nice change from big box pet supply stores. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, (they'll grab bags for you and set them at the counter) they're always ready with a treat for your sweet puppy, and they have helpful recommendations from what to feed your pet to what toys would be best for them. The store is clean and organized well and they carry a variety of treats; high-end dog food as well as good priced brands. They have supplements, cleaning supplies and the other day, a chinchilla was rolling around in a hamster ball getting exercise. Cats are also there on site, ready to be adopted at any time. You can of course, bring your sweet pooch in - if leashed- and you can enjoy the friendly service while they enjoy a treat (or two). read more

Premier Pet Supply has got to be by far the best pet store in the world. Petco or Petsmart don't even come close to being as awesome as Premier Pet Supply. Every single employee is smart, considerate and helpful. They will answer all of your questions and explain the differences in all the food and treats they sell and give you suggestions on what is best for your pet. It's amazing how well informed the staff is. Your pets are welcome to walk around the store with you while you shop. The staff will come play with them and give them lots of loving. To top it off I have found that almost everything they sell is cheaper the the big chain stores. Once a year they have a huge customer appreciation day sale were your entire order is discounted a percentage for the number of years the store has been open. So this year everything was 21% off. They also bring in lots of venders to answer questions you may have and give out free samples. read more

I'm not a fan of the big box, chain pet stores (Petco, Petsmart) because their prices are ridiculously high and the products they carry are like the Walmart equivalent of pet stores. Premier pet supply is great, the staff is very friendly, helpful and they carry products that I can't find elsewhere. I'm a big fan of this place. Their prices are a bit high but it's a mom and pop joint so I don't mind. Premier and pet supplies plus are the two stores that I'll go to. The staff here are my main reason for the high rating. I went here about a month ago on a whim after hearing on the radio that they were voted best pet store in metro Detroit.......well for good reason! The staff is pleasant, the selection is wonderful and they appear to be very invested in the local community. I also heard a rumor about another store in Rochester Hills and a possible partnership with Leader Dog?!?! Yes, please. Amazing place. Really. This family owned store is truly amazing. They have a huge selection of pet food. Lots of natural stuff too. Pretty much anything you need pet-wise they have or will order for you. Staff is great too. Always friendly and helpful. They are great about making sure you leave happy overtime. This is by far my favorite pet supply store in the area. They are definitely oriented more towards dogs than any other animal with a large selection of toys, treats, and foods. They have a large selection of both dry, frozen, and fresh dog foods; but at a price. They do tend to be slightly high in cost, but the selection and knowledgeable staff help make up for it. read more
