History
Established in 2014.
Pet Parent Allies was founded in 2014 by Curtis Kelley. He began his career in Baltimore, Maryland working as an apprentice at Unleashed in 2013. He began working with more advanced dogs and their humans in private sessions in 2014. Curtis moved to Philadelphia in 2016 and began working as a trainer for Zoom Room in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia prior to its closing in January 2018. Since then, Pet Parent Allies has taken off and is quickly becoming one of the most sought after dog training businesses in the Philadelphia region.
Meet the Business Owner: Curtis K.
Curtis is CPDT-KA.
Having received a foundation as a trainer, communicator, and behaviorist from Petco for two years, Curtis branched out and began working with private clients, as well as working in other parts of the pet service industry including veterinary and shelter care. He worked as a veterinary technician at Stevenson Village Veterinary Hospital in Baltimore, MD in 2016 and is a supervisor for non-profit, Hand2Paw, in partnership with the Philadelphia PSPCA. At Hand2Paw, he teaches young adults the skills needed to work in the pet service industry, such as reading canine body language, dog handling, and training techniques. In 2017, Curtis worked as a trainer for Zoom Room in Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia where he further honed his craft. He also attending the APDT Annual Trade Show and Conference where he attended lectures and workshops by prominent experts in his field such as Patricia McConnell, Sue Sternberg, and Suzanne Clothier.
