Horrible experience. When my friend and I first walked in, we were not greeted by any of the two female employees. We looked at all of the dogs and felt the majority of them, all of them had matted hair and felt musty. The one dog was getting attacked by the dog that shared the cube with them and the sign says that you could grab a dog when I asked for assistance. The lady straight up, said that nobody is allowed to grab the dogs. I then explained to her that the one dog is trying to hump the other dog and is getting her ears bit, the dog reached out for me to grab it and I felt terrible. The worker still refused. I then walked over to another dog, and the dog looked as if he was struggling to breathe. His nose was hot and his eyes were beat red. My friend tried to shake him awake and he was not budging. I then asked the same rude employee if the dog was OK, she then got snappy and said that the dog had a long day. But a dog having a long day does not resort to a dog that is unable to respond to a shake when trying to be woke nor does it have a scolding hot nose. The place also stinks of poop and neglected animals. This is my first and my last time entering a store of such sadness. Do better you guys! Wash these poor animals, clean their kennels out, and hire new employees. My guess is probably kennel cough? Please, to the people who are reading this review, buy these precious angels and give them a better life. I would if I could, but I have enough animals of my own. What a shame! read more

Unprofessional rude staff. Dogs smelt like urine. Charging over $2500 for mutts? Each child staff member was standing around gossiping. To begin, I had purchased a puppy last week under the impressive given from employees and management that she was healthy and seen by a reputable veterinarian. This is not the case as within 5 days after purchase, she developed kennel cough while not exhibiting any other symptoms of stress. Due to the lack of phrasing and misinformation listed through their agreements, they stated they were not responsible for any illness contracted through their facility. However, this is also misleading because as stated in their agreement: "if within ten days of purchase should your dog develop any contagious, infectious, or parasitic illness from which it becomes clinically I'll or does, you may exercise the following options: 3. Retain the dog and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, not exceeding the purchase price". The explanation I was given by Emily was not written anywhere in this agreement, which led to my misinterpretation of the agreement. Instead of explaining this misunderstanding, she explained statements that are not physically written anywhere in this agreement (as I have it in front of me currently). When I called and explained how nowhere in this agreement does it state a specific vet (which she insisted it does) I have to see for treatment in order for it to be covered, the employee was very rude and upright instead of calmly explaining this misunderstanding. Beware of purchasing animals from this facility as the employees are extremely rude, unprofessional, and do not care for the animals' welfare. PROS: This pet shop is an interactive shop which I love. You're able to go to the play pen and pet the puppies. You cannot lift them up though. They have all kinds of breeds, and toys to go with them too. The staff is also very very nice CONS: The only con they had was that they block people with this felt rope by the door. I bought a beautiful English bulldog from there. He passed away at 10 months old. I payed 5,000.00. Inquired about the one year health guarantee. Did take him to vet within ten days of purchase. I was told I would have to pay for a dog autopsy , which will cost about 3,000.00, to prove he he died of natural causes. They have no sympathy. It's just business to them. So to warn everyone, the one year health guarantee is a load of shit and still have to pay the loan and don't have a dog. Horrible place! I was required to give a star. I saved who is now my fur baby and paid ALOT of money to save him. shared a 3'x3' pen with 2 other dogs.Purebred with papers. Was 5months old. Very thin and filthy and anxious. Glad to say he is happy and healthy. With no problems. Many people keep saying to adopt from shelters but what about the poor things in these pet shops? These shops shouldn't be permitted at all, but for the ones that remain and those who can afford it.... do the right thing. The staff is NOT rude and they care for the animals. Multiple dogs in tiny spaces & "no photos or videos" makes it evident they are embarrassed of the conditions the animals are kept in. I agree with ethical and responsible breeding, but this isn't it. ABSOLUTELY END THIS PLACE!!!!!! I know I purchased my puppy from there and I've always rescued prior. However, knowing the conditions these puppies are in, you're rescuing from there. I got my border collie puppy from there and ten days later she's still hacking a lung, she had kennel cough and still was suffering with a fever AFTER being taken to the vet they recommended- warren animal hospital in NJ. We have purchased 2 dogs at the Pet Stop. They were both healthy pups. The staff was very nice.

This store should not have anymore than 1 star. These puppies are skin and bones, not to mention how they keep 2-3 dogs in one 3ft by 3ft square. The mice and hamsters are on one shelf in the back in glass tanks that look to never been cleaned. They keep like 10-20 mice in one 5 gallon tank. No food, and barely enough water to keep 5 mice alive. The same thing occurs with the hamsters. I did not see food in any of the tanks. Besides the poor animals, the store if filthy. Disgusting. There is dust on all of the dog food, dog toys, small animals houses, dog beds, and small animal supplies. The staff were very rude and didn't seem to care about the animals lives. I even saw one staff member pick up a puppy, then swing her around, realize she grabbed the wrong dog, then threw the puppy down back into the cage. This is animals neglect and cruelty. Went to this place to see if we could get financed for a puppy since their puppies seem way over priced. They have a sign that says credit or no credit ezpay. They apparently go through 3 banks and they told us that all 3 banks wouldn't approve us. We even told them we can put 500 down and the store manager refused over phone to hold the dog is we paid the 500 down. He said because of the coronavirus they must get rid of them but it's funny because if they were really worried about the dogs finding a home then they would sell them at a cheaper cost or agree to let someone put money down for a hold on them and then pay the rest in a couple of days. Besides all of that the dog we wanted felt hot she had a fever. I don't know what these people are doing but it seems like they are a puppy mill. Horrible just horrible. read more

Awful. Every dog was sick. Decided to stop inside to see some puppies and a bunch of them had kennel cough, crusty noses, and patches of hair missing. Totally unkempt litters. None of the pets here had any engery, even the kittens. Completely unfair for these animals, the staff clearly has no care at all seeing and HEARING all of these puppies sick. One would think not to keep the puppies that have kennel cough out in the open with other puppies and humans touching them all day, ESPECIALLY only being a few weeks old. Disgusting. I made the mistake of falling for a border collie puppy. I bought him about two weeks ago, and I went to look at where he is from. Paperwork says the breeder is from Missouri. After a bit of research, Missouri is the NUMBER ONE places for puppy milling. Absolutely despicable to me. Adopt if you can. The people who work there have absolutely no care for the puppies at all, they just do what they have to, to keep their jobs. Absolutely overpriced. Don't even get me started on how the puppies are more than likely crated at the puppy mills for a long period of time until they're shipped off, and makes crate training these pups an absolute nightmare as they are scared shitless of crates. I was going through his paperwork and stumbled upon the return policy section and there are absolutely no returns, even if I am unfit as an owner. This to me proves they do not care one bit about these animals and just see them as dollar signs. read more

Puppy is amazing. I had to buy him because I knew he was sick. The puppy felt warm. They told me his temp was 100.8, I went home and took it and it was 102.3 we are at the vet now and it is 103.8. When I bought him, they clearly advised me that I would need to pay for his first vet visit and if he was sick it was my responsibility because I was from out of town and would not be using their vet. They told me they would not cover any care. I still had to buy the dog and get it to a vet. Here is the issue, pet stores have come along way. Investigating breeders, and only taking quality pets. I love the concept of pet stores but only if they have a vet on staff checking the dogs everyday, and if they have puppies cohabitating in cages that are controlled by staff and not handled by all. Day one, I left the dog, day two, I had to buy the dog and get it to the vet. My regret is that I had to pay money to this company to like ransome and get this puppy healthy. I wanted the dog to be safe. I asked several times about lethargy, I was told he was tired, not sick. He was just diagnosed with pneumonia. He's 3 lbs. 14 oz. Who knows if he would've lived. He'll be ok, but it's costing. However, I'm glad he's ok. I will update. read more

Rude and disinterested staff working here. The whole shop has a stench that is nauseating. They cram several dogs in one small cage which obviously is causing anxiety in the animals because some of the behavior was aggressive. There is one dog, Comet, that is very aggressive and had another dog by the throat pulling her around the cage so roughly that he was pulling her hair out. When it was mentioned to the staff the response was, "oh they've been doing that for weeks, they're fine." This is not how you talk to a prospective customer, or anyone for that matter. The dogs at The Pet Shop were under HORRIBLE management. All of the pups were adorable however they looked as if they hadn't been properly taken care of. Several of the water holders nailed to the walls were too high up for the dogs to reach. They looked very dehydrated and malnourished. The employees there were EXTREMELY rude and majority of them stayed locked in the office leaving one employee on the floor. They knew nothing about the dogs and yelled at at several customers who were taking pictures to send to their families for serious inquires. If I was able to give no stars I would. I purchased a Bengal kitten in December 2018. paperwork was submitted for her tica registration. I was told I would receive a call once they come in. Time went by no call. I finally had an opportunity to find out what the hold up was. Here is the kicker we are now in June 2019. I stopped in the store on June 8th 2019. Amanda whom is the store Manager stated oh I believe they are in the office let me call and check and also stated to my face directly I havent gotten to it. Amanda then stated I will have to pick them up on June 14th a week later and was instructed I will have them that Friday however doesnt mean I will be in that weekend and that I should come in on Monday June 17, 2019. Well I show up and guess what no Amanda and no paperwork. Oh here is another kicker. I happened to be at the pet shop in the Whitehall location and only reason why I stopped there because I had made a purchase from Sears. That day was June 15th 2019. I just asked a store rep to please remind your Manager to have my papers at the palmer mall on Monday which is today the 17th. I think you know what I'm getting at. So I said I am wasting my time coming here and not only is your Manager a lazy POS now I have to come back. So the girl Maci whom is at the palmer location is a sweetheart and proceeded to call Amanda to find out where the papers are. Amanda rudely picks up and says "what" like not only are you lazy but your not rude and lazy but she was how can I put it not rude but not caring or apologetic to not doing her job and Getting my docs. Amanda not only treats customers like crap but she treats her employees like crap. As Maci explained to her how angry I was, Amanda turns around and says they are in my car and tell her I will call on Wednesday. Uh Umm excuse me? She is the one that stated come in Monday. So this makes it even better she now cannot face me to be an acting Manager to apologize for her laziness and rudeness but you know why she had to come in. The other customer who bought the other Bengal that was born in July 2018 still never got there papers too. I mean let's call it like it is. She is definitely a lazy rude manager that is miserable and doesnt like herself so she treats others like crap to feel better. Went to this store today to buy a puppy. The store was well stocked with a variety of puppies, mainly small breeds. The were placed in large pens on the floor. Customers walk through the store touching the animals without supervision as the staff congregate at the front of the store. Some of the puppies seemed lethargic and even ill. I know this because I purchased a puppy 3 years ago who was very ill at the time of purchase. The associate was helpful and friendly. However, the person who said they were manager was not at all professional in her manner. When I asked questions about purchasing a puppy she responded abruptly and insisted that in order to purchase a pup, I had to buy a bag of food. I wanted to purchase the puppy but the attitude of the manager of the store was so confrontational that I felt insulted and decided to leave. My family and I wanted to buy the dog and would have liked to have the helpful associate earn a nice commission. Working with customers requires a professional and friendly demeanor in order for transactions to happen. read more
