While I have several great vets, they don't always have the time, experience, or a new concern arises a few days outside our appt window. The staff here knows us, and they've spent so much time just talking things out with me--from food choices to most recently figuring out how to protect her paws from further injury after rupturing ligaments in her hind toes from high dose prednisone. To actually spend time in a conversation is comforting when there are so many medical complications. I love that since Molly is trusted off lead, that when the store is empty she can wander around and be herself while we brainstorm. At the height of treatment for meningitis, when prednisone and chemotherapy were wasting her away, this was the one & only place Molly would go to and wag her tail. If not behind the counter waiting for more treats she wanders from sniffing the furry animals up for sale/adoption or is down the treat aisle with a tennis ball. Prices are the same, if not better than big box stores and they have treats that I don't find elsewhere. Our current favorite is St Rocco's Beef & Pumpkin. They are kind, patient & knowledgeable It is a fun and relaxing environment where they actually care about the needs of your pet. To have a small business last this long (55 years) is a direct reflection of their staff and customer service.

The week before my birthday, I was looking for a place to board my cat for three days. Before…read moremaking the trip, I called and spoke with the receptionist. I explained that my cat was currently taking cough medicine and asked what I needed to bring for his stay. I was told to bring his food and that it was okay to bring his medication, so I understood that there would be no issue boarding him. When we arrived, we were suddenly told that they could not accept him because he was sick. During the drive, my cat had an accident in his carrier because he was scared and stressed from traveling to a new place. One employee reassured me that they could clean him up and that everything was fine for him to stay. However, while I was completing the paperwork, another employee came over and said they could not take him after all because he was sick. The conflicting information was extremely frustrating and disappointing. If their policy is not to accept pets that are taking medication or are ill, that should have been clearly communicated during my phone call before I made the trip. Instead, I was given different answers by multiple employees, which caused unnecessary stress for both me and my cat.

During the tour, I specifically asked if there was anything else I needed to do before my dogs' stay, and I was told everything was set. Today, I arrived to board my two dogs before leaving on a trip tomorrow. One is an almost 2-year-old French Bulldog who is perfectly healthy and fully trained, and the other is my 17-year-old Shih Tzu. After arriving, I was told they would not board either dog. My French Bulldog was excited from the car ride and had just been outside before we drove over, so she was panting. They said her temperature was elevated and refused to board her. As soon as we got home, she was completely fine, acting like her normal self, and showed absolutely no signs of illness. My 17-year-old Shih Tzu was also refused because I had put a diaper on her for the drive as a precaution in case she became nervous and had an accident in the car or lobby. I explained that she does not wear diapers at home and that I simply take her outside regularly. I didn't even bring extra diapers because she doesn't need them. Despite explaining this, they still refused to board her. What is most frustrating is that none of these concerns were discussed during my tour or after I completed all of the paperwork. Had I been informed in advance that these issues could prevent boarding, I would have had time to make other arrangements. Instead, I was turned away the day before my trip with virtually no notice. As the owner of brachycephalic breeds, I fully understand that facilities must prioritize safety, and I appreciate caution when it is genuinely necessary. However, this experience left me feeling that my dogs were being judged primarily because one is a brachycephalic breed and the other is elderly, rather than being evaluated based on their overall health and individual circumstances. If your family has a French Bulldog, another brachycephalic breed, or a senior dog, I strongly recommend not boarding your dogs here. My experience was incredibly stressful. I hope Pet Paradise reviews its intake process so other pet owners don't have to go through the same experience. I would not recommend this business to anyone.

The front door is locked for a reason, no puppy gets in or out, unless the owner is in control of the situation. The owner keeps meticulous records on all of her clients, notes about how long, how short, how curly the last cut was, what looked good, what did the owner/parent like, what did not work well. These notes are all laid out meticulously on the desk for the day's clients, like little health records, ready for the patients of the day. This is a one-person operation, so all activities are performed by the owner, the wash/dry/cut/pedicure/tooth-brush/etc. Make a reservation at least a week in advance, but sometimes a hole in her schedule will open up and you will be honored to get a coveted spot. But what about the real client? My four legged ankle biters? What are their opinions? Well, unlike other groomers we had in the past, in which there was always a high level of anxiety on arrival and ever more anxiety to leave... NOT HERE.... my babies walk around the shop like if they were at home, NO ANXIETY what-so-ever. My babies love to meet the owner, and when it is time to go, they enjoy walking around and sniffing at this-and-that, and have no drama. That's the TRUE test of a good groomer. I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I brought my Pomeranian, Sophie, in for a…read morebath because one of the main reasons I pay for professional grooming is to have her properly dried. I was told to come back in 45 minutes. When I returned, I was informed that they were unable to dry her because she was being aggressive and could bite. I completely understand that employee safety comes first, and I would never expect anyone to put themselves at risk. However, I believe they should have called me as soon as they realized they could not complete the service, instead of waiting until I arrived and handing my dog back to me completely soaking wet. Sophie is a Pomeranian with a double coat, and I was not comfortable taking her home in that condition. I asked for a solution, and they only gave me a towel. I then had to go to the Pet Supermarket at the corner, where the staff kindly helped me dry her. I truly appreciate their kindness because they solved a problem they did not create. I paid $50, and in the end, I feel that all I received was a bath. If my dog was going to be returned to me soaking wet and I had to depend on another business to finish the job, I could have simply bathed her myself at home. What concerns me most is that if they are unable to complete a service because of a dog's behavior, the owner should be notified immediately and the situation should be handled fairly. I hope this is not their usual way of handling situations like this, because customers deserve clear communication and a reasonable solution. I am attaching photos showing how Sophie was returned to me, how she looked after she was properly dried, and my receipt. My biggest disappointment was not simply that they were unable to finish the service. It was the lack of communication, the lack of a reasonable solution, and the fact that I paid for a visit that left me having to go somewhere else to finish the job. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.
