As soon as I walked inside the well maintained store, I could hear a loud excessive chirping. As I followed the irrirating sound, it brought me to a bird in a cage next to the parakeets, rabbit and guinea pig. The bird was called Sun Conure and was wonderfully colorful but no way would this hand-fed loud annoying creature live in my house, especially for $1,500.00. It's a regular pet store so it smells like dog cats all of it haha. This was the 2nd time I've gone here and I has just been to bathe my puppy. The washing station is semi clean. It has a lot of dog hair everywhere and can be slippery so be careful. It's very convenient to have around especially when you just pay like $20 to use their soaps towels and everything. read more

Our fur babies need their supplies too, and it makes life so much more pleasant if you like the store you need to go to. My 14 year old Maltese decided he no longer liked his present food. My vet made a few suggestions of what to try. I bought one of those foods, but Lisa gave me at least 6 different samples to try as too. Well, Rocky did not like what I bought, but seems to love one of the samples. Luckily, I was told I could bring back what I bought if Rocky didnt like it and exchange for one he does. This is my go to location whenever I need basic items for my fish tanks or snakes. The employees here always have greeted me and treated me very nicely and are decently knowledgeable on fish. My questions have never gone unanswered at this location compared to other local animal stores. Recently, I lost 2 of my fish and I took some water to get it sampled and the gentleman that assisted me, Varnel, was extremely nice, educated, and took his time to explain what might of had went wrong in my tank. He answered all my questions and thoroughly explained everything to me even if I asked what seemed to be silly questions. I greatly appreciate his time and knowledge. read more

This store is an absolute favorite for my husband and I to visit for the freshwater fish selection due to one of the most consistent and very best customer experiences we've ever had, no matter the location of Pet Supermarket or even other pet stores, due to Varnell!!! The entire staff is nice indeed, but from the very start when our love of fish emerged for us to start out on our journey to hunt down much needed supplies or even coming across various fish, Varnell has been the person we found that always gave top notch service. He's very helpful with all the knowledge he has to give guidance the best he knows and will tell you if he is unsure. Not just to sell you unnecessary items or fish he's not that familiar with. We can't thank him enough for always being so kind and patient whenever we have 101 questions about a new type of fish he's received at the store since he is constantly requesting a plethora of fish, beyond any other chain store we've visited, which has helped us expand our fish family. He truly should be given a major raise and promoted to the top of Pet Supermarkets Fish Division because his passion shines through like no other we've experienced for service like his from day one compared to so many other stores and he could teach the other locations so much if he oversaw things. There may be friendly batch at other stores but then the insight of various fish isn't always there or they don't entirely have enough staff so you're stuck waiting around or looking for someone to assist with getting a fish. This Pines location is a hidden gem in South Florida to say the least for the aquarium department thanks to him that we always find ourselves back here. This is my definite go to for any pet accessories/food. They are super nice and go out of their way to make you happy which you don't get very often these days in other stores. We bought a cat tower for our cats and the gentleman whom I can't remember his name, Went above and beyond helping my husband putting it in the back of out truck. Even the young girl at the cash out counter was amazing and friendly. It was actually a very genuine kindness with both of them helping us out. O am a new pet owner so it was good to check out another pet store. Although they had a good variety of items, the staff did not have a available presence and the prices seemed high. When I came to check out, there was no one at a register. Could have been a fluke, but just didnt get a very warm feeling about this store. The staff I did see and talk to did not seem very knowledgeable. Walked in to get new and smaller food for our picky eater, Storm, a miniature poodle and as we were looking at the different options one of the girls that works there came and started telling us about he different ones and whats best. She also helped us get a few other things we had forgotten we needed. All in all, yes, spent more than we first thought we would, but just based on this visit (although I've been several times before and always been nice and helpful), would definitely come back to this store and recommend it solely based on the customer service. Walked in immediately noticed the customer service wasn't good. Nobody helped me find a tank for my bearded dragon, but when it comes to check out 7/8/22 at around 1:30. The cashier starts to tell me how my tank is to small for my pet, looks around her and tells the other employers the same and then tells a coworker to take me to a larger tank. After The Fact That I Said, I'm looking for a smaller tank not because I want to but because I'm moving somewhere smaller and can't take the tank I had before. On top of that came home to unpack the tank and I see a large crack in it, which would have been prevented if there customer service was 10/10 when I first walked in. This was my first and last time coming to this "supermarket" I shall stick to Petco and PetSmart. This place is so amazing and the people who work here are absolutely wonderful. I have an adult age and cats, who I think is on the brink of death. He is 17 years old and started to reject his food. One of the employees here, I believe she is a manager, Teresa, was so wonderful. She was able to suggest things based on the experience she has had from other cats and clients and it looks like my cat might be on his way to recovery. In no way do I suggest to come to a pet supermarket in lieu of a veterinarian. However, based on the age of my cat and the situation I am in, this was my best bet. All in all, this place is fantastic, clean, best rate guarantee and they are very ethical. I had two Gold fish I couldn't care for and it was a mother and baby goldfish. I took them there hopping they would take them for free but the store employees not only flatly told me no, but couldn't even provide a place to take the fish. I am an avid animal lover and I would expect an animal store to at the very least help guide me in the right direction I understand no one is obligated to take anything but it was the lack of care or advice that upset me. read more

This Pet Supermarket is the closest pet store to my house. The staff here are very nice and have always been helpful.Their prices are fair, relative to other pet stores like Petsmart and Petco. They send out coupons once in a while if you have a members card. Also, this location was recently renovated and is looking really nice! It's small and compact but has a lot to offer. The pets they have, like birds, hamsters, and fish seem well taken care of, although the birds seem overpriced to me... but that's always the case with stores. I only go there to see the animals or go get hay for my bunnies. If you buy bunnies from there I suggest you watch a few videos from Lennon the bunny or bunnies 101 on YouTube before getting one because employees will try to sell you things that aren't even fit for a hamster. Never get hay that has raisins or other things but hay, Always get oxbow hay, don't get a cage it's too small and causes aggression, don't get water bottles either instead use a water bowl (fun fact bunnies can drink as much as a big dog) AND NEVER EVER GET YOGURT DROPS THAT IS DIABETES FOR YOUR RABBIT. Best service ever with knowledge of pets to help making a good and economical purchase

I want to pet supermarket today to get some pet supplies for my cat. I got a scratching post for her while we wait to get her declawed. I mentioned to the Clerk that I was thinking of it and she rudely said "did you know that they break the bone they don't just cut the nail off?" Well you know at the moment I got very defensive and said "I'd rather do that than have her scratch the children. This was something i had contemplated but didn't really read into it. So, at the moment i was furious. Thinking why would she be so aggressive? This is my neighborhood pet store. Wow i was in shock. Well, I read up on it and decided it is not something i will pursue. You should have talked to me, not at me Or offered some educational tips rather than being so aggressive and rude to me. Remember, everybody doesn't know everything.
