Very disappointed with Pet Supermarket in Florida. I have repeatedly received defective dog food cans that are dented, which is concerning because damaged cans can compromise the safety of the food for pets. I have already submitted complaints through their online system and by email, but no one has responded or followed up. The lack of customer service and accountability is extremely frustrating. Pet owners trust companies like this to provide safe products for their animals, and ignoring customer complaints about damaged food is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Pet Supermarket and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I visited this pet store yesterday with the intention of adopting a cat, and unfortunately, my experience was completely unacceptable as an African American woman From the moment I walked in, I was met with unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. The store manager, Kayla, was especially rude and dismissive. Instead of being welcoming or helpful--especially to someone looking to adopt--her attitude made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. They were so mean to the cat she jumped out the cage and was lost for several hours. As a customer, I expect basic respect and professionalism, and that was clearly lacking here. The way I was treated did not reflect a business that values its customers or the community it serves. I strongly encourage others to be aware of how they may be treated before choosing to support this business. There are plenty of other pet stores and adoption centers that are kind, respectful, and genuinely care about both animals and people. I will not be returning. read more

TLDR: Excellent customer service, ample products, pricier than online retailers. I stopped here after meeting a sales rep at the Raleigh Pet Expo. The best part of my visit were the incredible employees. Each employee I interacted with was friendly, patient, and ready to help. Several asked if I needed assistance and checked to make sure I found what I was looking for. The store is packed with merchandise. It is fairly organized and the items are labelled well. It is surprisingly pricy. I would opt to purchasing toys and treats at online retailers. Then if in town around this location I would get live insects here. They also have a lot of food options and adorable live animals for purchase like bunnies and ferrets. Overall, they have a good selection of items and excellent customer service. read more

I stumbled upon this place when I was at another establishment in the same shopping center. My daughter had just called to tell me that our puppy had diarrhea. I went in and asked for advice and some help and was not disappointed. This place has any and everything you could ever need for your pet. The very helpful staff member helped me with something for the diarrhea as well as a quality chew toy for my fur baby. There was so much to look at, I didn't have time to take it all in! Inside you'll find food, books, toys, chews, collars, leashes, cages, beds, and much more. The employees are nice and helpful -- the one who approached me even knew of the dog breed that I plan to get which was impressive since it's not one of the more well-known breeds. I was immediately given a tour of the store, tailored to the foods, toys, chews and treats that will be good for a large-breed dog. What service! This person was also a specialist in pet nutrition. To be honest, I found this store by accident and ended up really liking it. It was clean, nice toy selection, loved the fact that of you buy I believe it is 10 bags of dog food (same size each time), the 11th is free. So, my wife and I went in today for both of our dogs food. We noticed the Putin's Pro Plan Sport, 24lbs, tag said "$57" and some change, well, the same food but in 37lb, on the bottom shelf to the right said $54. We both looked at the tags to make sure it was right and sure enough, it was. So we took the 24lb bag to the counter to see if it would ring up at a different price because obviously that makes zero sense at to why the 24lb bag is MORE than the 37lb. We asked the you g lady to ring it up and sure enough it came up as $57 and some change. We both looked at her and said that doesn't make sense. I said "I don't understand because I can get the hug bag for that price at Petsmart" and before I could even finish why I was saying she cut me off and said "i don't know" and even put her hands up. Then my wife asked "well can you check the other bag because something isn't right" and she literally said "no i just don't know", so i decided to say "wow that was such a huge help", (obviously jokingly) and told my wife to leave the bag there for her to put back. For one, I completely understand this is not Petsmart. But as I said with the price, IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. I was simply trying to compare based on price and to bring it to her attention. But, since the young lady standing there, who barely even moves and clearly doesn't know (her words), didn't even want to look into it. I'm good on this store and will not be back. I am huge on customer service and have worked in customer service, I was in no way rude until she could not even look into it and had no care in the world. I'm done with this place, which is unfortunate for them. I bought 2 parakeets who died within 12 hours of each other 2 weeks after I brought them home. Because I made it to the store 2 days after the warranty they only wanted to give me store credit, which does me no good at a store I will no longer shop at. I also called corporate t9 get there help but they wanted the dead bodies of the tw9 poor birds. We didn't save them! Why would we? Wouldn't it cost more to "study" then or whatever they were going to do then just to give me my $40 back. I own 8 pets and have a pet sitting business, they just lost out on plenty of money. And the location is on my way home....it sucks for them but this is not customer service. I will continue my business with petsmart who has always taken care of me and my furbabies. I got a training lesson package for $300 from them and after 3 sessions we realized it wasn't a good fit for our dog, they gave a full refund...no questions askwd. Asked which way to the bedding. And the clerk asked, Dog bedding?!? I was tempted to say: Nah, I'm looking for your satin sheets. I actually spotted it stacked high on the far-right wall before he even had a chance to reply. Not a ton of variety, but had some nice options, and prices were reasonable. I also found a coveted soft e-collar (made of cloth-covered foam, adjustable with velcro). Have been hunting for one of these for a while, to shield my dog's ears from continued fraying while in her crate. They do have some pets available (birds and other small pets). the selection of products is pretty good but the staff make it worth the trip. they are always super friendly, seem very knowledgeable and are always willing to help! I have been purchasing pet supplies and fish and fish supplies from here for a while. Today I brought in a dead fish per the stores policy with water and a receipt for the purchase. the manager came out and advised me she would do an exchange 'this time ' . I asked her if I have not fulfilled the policy requirements and she basically said the fish was not being entered into the aquarium correctly. I advised her I have been breeding fish for over 30 years and was aware how to introduce fish into new aquariums and she again said she would do it 'this time '.There are plenty of fish stores in Raleigh where I don't get the hassle from a manager questioning a four dollar purchase ? read more

We just adopted a kitten, which means that we need to stock up on pet supplies! Pet Supermarket is the closest pet store to our apartment, so we decided to check it out. The store is laid out very well and everything is organized by pet type. There are a few small pets and birds to adopt at the store. We found everything on our list right away. The prices were not bad and the staff was friendly. We signed up for a VIP card so we can earn a free bag of cat food in the future. read more

I always go here for my dog food bc this is the only company that sells senior dog food with NO chicken or any bird in it (i use lamb) for my 8yo shep who's allergic to chicken but at the same time DOES INCLUDE GRAIN!!!! This is so important I need to put here that unless you've done a test on your pet with your veterinarian that says they are allergic to grain, they are most likely allergic to grass or chicken like my pup. A LACK of grain can lead to heart problems bc grain has taurine so without grain your pet isn't getting any taurine. Ask your vet please. Thank you Pet Supermarket for carrying something like this!!!!! Otherwise I would be stuck buying 90$ bags of prescription dog food every week. Only problem to knock off a star is I have to drive 30 min to my nearest Pet Sup since there's not one in my area of Clayton. I loved this place unlike the Pet Smart on Six Forks. I came in to buy a hamster and they told me everything I needed to know on how to take care of him. They were all super nice and polite. I now have a dwarf hamster and his name is Paul and he is sitting happy and healthy in his new home. The staff here is very friendly but they have been an unreliable source of food for my pet Ball Python. There are not many options for live feeder rats /mice in Raleigh, if I had to rely on this store my snake would starve. They are out of stock for weeks at a time. I am told it is the vendors issue. I suggest they find new vendors. The store in Cary often has them so I drive an hour round trip out of my way. I will again today. SMH. Very disappointed overall. The store itself was okay but the service was terrible. I walked in with my significant other just looking. Amanda was the staff on the floor at the time. We received no greeting, did not get asked if we needed help and even when we got to the register she walked straight up to the counter, rang our things up and never greeted us. Others coming in after us while we were shopping received warm hellos, high energy, and full staff support. I don't want to say it was based off of skin color but the energy was completely off and just overall rude. Staff needs better basic customer service training. read more

Pet Supermarket is a good alternative to big box pet stores. They are pretty big with the usual supplies for dogs, cats, rodents, birds, and fish. I came looking for small Butterfly Moor Goldfish. They are rarer and hard to find in general. They had a freshwater fish section about half the size of a regular PetSmart. Staff was attentive and the store was clean. Too bad no Demekins. read more

This is the third year I have used Seresto brand flea collar. First two years were fine. This year I put a new one on June 17,2018 when I came home from vacation on Sept. 10 I spent the next couple of days picking fleas at least 50 off her. So I spent $64.99 plus tax for about 4 months to be flea free. And my dog was miserable. No more Seresto for me. read more

I have very mixed feelings about Pet Supermarket. They have a great selection of toys for all of your critters and the staff is usually pretty nice. My bird is quite picky about his toys, but there is always a good selection there for him (believe me, that's harder than it sounds). Not to mention the location is super convenient when you are in a pinch. So why not 5 stars? The day I got my bird from there. He is a green cheeked conure who we believe to be about a year or so old when we bought him. I meandered into the store one day just to see what they had. I saw him and asked if I could hold him/meet him as I was interested in making a purchase. At first the salesperson told me "no." I then said, "even if I am strongly considering buying this bird?" So she just sort of shrugged and walked off. Fine, whatever. The birds that they keep there are not in the most ideal conditions. The cages seem small for some of the bigger birds there (like when they have quaker parrots, which are pretty moderate sized birds). Also, the birds are always shivering or looking somewhat disheveled. Anyone who knows about birds as a species is that they care a lot about their appearance, so when they begin to look like that, something must be wrong. I asked for the records of my bird so I could know roughly when he had hatched and all of that stuff. They said they didn't know. They offered a seven day guarantee on my little bird, so I promptly took him to my local avian vet. The poor thing was about 15-20 grams underweight. He was weighing in at 60 grams when a bird like him is supposed to weigh about 75-80 grams. The vet asked me what they had been feeding him and I responded that he was eating a diet of seeds. Apparently, diets like that have really bad health implications for birds such as fatty liver. I know most people would have told me I shouldn't have brought him home because buying animals in those situations just perpetuate them, but I really could not just leave him there. After a year with my little friend he is doing very well, but I can't help but worry what would happen if I'd have left him there. read more

I honestly wish I could give this place no stars because it is horrible. These poor animals live in the worst conditions ! I own a conure myself and the conures at this store lived in a tiny cage. One was biting up the other and bullying him/her. They were all bit up and I could tell they were plucking their feathers through stress. There was also a rabbit/bunny living in a very small cage, it's like taking a 7 foot person and putting them in a punch buggy and telling them to live there until someone gives their "owners" the money to get them out. Seriously you guys need to clean the animals cages and not act like they are just dollar signs, oh wait, all you people care about is money ! Just let these poor animals live in filth with nasty water and cages filled with poop ! Oh well ! More money for us ! read more
