The staff and the managers are very friendly and know what they are talking about. The selection is good, not great but then again what Pet store is really? The Dog wash center is good! could use some attention when I was there. The drying area was full of hair, the tub I was using kept clogging up. The collar attachment was torn and when we purchased the wash were were not explained on how it worked (they provided the shampoo and towels) and we ended up buying our own and not advised. I recently went there to buy some snacks and took a peep and the area was cleaned and all the defects corrected. This is probably the only spot that carries the dog food that I give my pup (Diamond Naturals). Overall not too big of a place but it suits the needs of pet owners. We purchased a rabbit here that tragically died within 72 hours due to a disease contracted from the other penned rabbits. According to the emergency vet, the rabbit had a 50/50 chance of survival and should never have been sold. My child was devastated, and when we requested a refund or exchange, the staff insisted we bring in the deceased (and already buried) rabbit's body, rejecting medical documentation as proof. After spending $500 on supplies, $350 on emergency vet bills, and encountering a complete lack of empathy from staff, we are deeply disappointed. Corporate needs to address these issues, including the health standards for their animals and the unacceptable customer service policies. We will not be returning. read more

I discovered this place quite by accident while in the shopping center it is located in. I think my Mom was getting flan at a nearby Hispanic bakery and I noticed this incredible place out of the corner of my eye. I am quite familiar with Petland and PetSmart. However, I much prefer The Pet Supermarket and in particular this location. This store is newer than the one in Sunrise on University and it has wonderful dog grooming stations. The dog grooming stations are waist high sinks (in more than one size) that you can wash your dog in for $10. That includes the shampoo and conditioner which you can upgrade to other products for additional money. I bring my own stuff as I love what I use on my dog. It also includes towels to dry your dog off with and an apron you can wear while you wash your dog. They also have a blow drying area for your dog. Of course that depends if you have the type of dog that would allow you to air dry it with something that likely sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I did not even try to do that with my dog as he is hyper. I dried my dog with towels and let the air do the rest. Sometimes they have bags of treats near the grooming stations to make the process less stressful for your dog. Now I have to be honest here. The first time I took my puppy here he was pretty good and tolerated it well. A month later when I brought him back, although I got him nice and clean he literally had a major melt down. Then again he is a Shiba Inu and a real drama Queen. Someone in the store at the time listening to his hissy fit walked over and suggested he could use a tranquilizer. I can understand why she suggested that, but no. He does not do that at home. So despite loving this store and their dog grooming stations, next time I will wash him at home and see if he is calmer. I hope so. I honestly would very much prefer to wash him at the Pet Supermarket as it is less stressful on me physically. It is a great idea and if for no other reason, I sincerely appreciate The Pet Supermarket for this one thing. BUT there is so much more to this store. They carry wonderful high end products and I have bought many items at this store for my 9 month old puppy including a pet stroller. I swore I would never buy one till he was older but when I take him shopping inside a store I prefer he be in a stroller as it is easier to control him that way without having to carry all 18 lbs of him. They have a very wide selection of food, toys, and every imaginable (and even ones you have not imagined) item you need for your dog from small to big. They also carry pets. I have seen rabbits, birds, hamsters, etc. In addition they offer a Vet Clinic. See my photos for further details on this item. If you have a pet, you should really check out this store. read more

I went into the store today to exchange an item. I'm a new pet parent, I had a lot of questions. Desiree, was AWESOME. She was very patient and knowledgeable. I was in the store over 45 minutes. Love the spacious self wash tub and friendly staff, however, the water had a recycled smell. ugh!

I am very disappointed with my visit to the Tamarac location an will not be returning due to the attitude an way I was treated by the newly promoted store manager Alyssa they have. I spend a tremendous amount of money there an visit the store quite often on daily basis lot of times because have lots of fish an a new puppy. I tried exchanging puppy food that was well over 75 percent full due to allergic reaction my pup had to it an she would not allow me to exchange it even after you could clearly see it was 75 percent full,I feel she could've at least gave me smaller bag if she did feel that way knowing how much it is to get a new puppy an all the shots an things you have to go through you really don't want to throw money away on food. I went to Coral Springs location were I was giving no issues at all an when explained situation from Tamarac an how I was treated they all were very pleasant an polite an told me to never feel bad about returning a bag of dog food no matter what the condition of it is although they stated looked right to them. I was happy To be treated with respect there,an have matter resolved lucky for me I'm about same distance from each location so I'll just take my services to Coral Springs from now on since I want be returning to Tamarac anymore,I really like The guy Dominic that works there an a few others as well but I've heard several bad things about this new store manager you have since her promotion an I'm pretty sure I want be only customer you lose due to her customer service read more
