I called on a Saturday, and I was so happy to hear they could take my Shih Tzu in. I ran right over and from the minute Sonia started talking, I knew it was the right place for us. It's a family oriented feeling, she picked up my dog and held him like she knew him forever. I showed her pictures and she said I'll do whatever you want, and she did. Update, my cat has been vomiting for over 9 days and continues to hide and is shaky. Guess that is what happens when a groomer shaves off a cats whiskers. After speaking with Sonia about this cruelty, she simply stated, "you are right, I should not have done that. Your cats balance might be a little off. I won't do that next time". Oddly, she told me when i picked up my cat that "he was so well-behaved and never moved while she worked on him"..... Then why shave off whiskers. My cat has more than balance issues, he is traumatized! My Vet here in Plantation, was in shock when he saw what Sonia did and said we have to wait and hope they grow back and hope there is no permanent damage. Not sure how other cat owners can say she does a good job, they must be friends or she just chose my cat to abuse that particular day.....sick! This woman is a danger - you give her specific instructions and she does what she wants and feigns ignorance. She absolutely ruined our dog. We are horrified at how she destroyed a years worth of a long coat with perfect grooming in one fell swoop - she just shaved it all off after being told 100 times not to - She is a nightmare. When my wife picked up our dog - she demanded payment before we even saw our dog - and asked for a tip! (Imagine asking for a tip for service you already paid for ) and my wife naively paid and tipped her - then our dog came out - A year's worth of perfect grooming - a long beautiful coat - shaved right off - we didn't recognize her. She then takes no responsibility and rather than being contrite and apologize gets offended that we are so upset. The gaslighting is incredible - we asked her to take off ONE inch and she says "so its a little shorter than you wanted" You cannot imagine how offensive, dishonest and manipulative this is. She literally ruined our dog and shrugs it off as if "so its little shorter than you wanted" She talks a good game but every word out of her mouth is dishonest. Do not trust her. You will be heartbroken as we are. She has one setting and that is to never admit a mistake, be defensive by going on the offensive -- and deny any responsibility. (LONG BUT WORTH THE READ, PET OWNERS BEWARE) if you care about your cat/dog being HANDLED WITH CARE, in a WELL DETAILED manner while caring for your pets health & beauty while listening to what you want & communicating what'll be done with full transparency, then I could truly not begin to recommend Sonia enough. This morning i actually had a groomers appt (with a mobile grooming service) that had a ton of what seems to be really "great reviews" for my 5 month old Persian kitten but it quickly turned into a quite horrid one instead... 10 minutes into the appointment I get told that my kitten is too afraid to get blow-dried and that the groomer could not finish the job, so I pick my kitten up & he's not only shaking because he's soaking wet, but he's bleeding from THREE of his PAWS!! (He didn't need a nail clipping as we just did it a week prior) I'm no expert, but they this has never happened to me while attempting to clip my kittens nails but he did let me know that I should leave my cat on the balcony to dry off since it may take all day! But he could come back tomorrow to finish the haircut, I told him that it was fine and that I would just dry my kitten off myself, he agreed then charged me $120 In the moment I quite honestly just paid & wanted to get him out of there as quickly as possible. as soon as I got in the car I remembered a friend recommended royal paws boutique a few months back, so I gave the owner Sonia a call around 10am right after this horrid appointment & explained what had just happened; she told me to come on in, which then I frantically did, as soon as I stepped foot into the pet spa o immediately felt safe having my kitten in her care, she was attentive, thorough, and has true passion for her craft. When I went to pick my kitten up from royal pet spa, Sonia immediately filled me in on how the session went, and not only did she address his bloody nail situation + knots that the previous groomer didn't even consider to brush upon receiving him but... she found COTTON BALLS that were left in his ears from the previous groomer which to my now known knowledge, could've led to a much bigger issue if i hadn't seen it (which I probably wouldn't be able to as I am a first time cat owner) nor did i know there were any cotton balls in his ears, she expressed how sweet my kitten was and just afraid of the drying noises, which will take some getting used to. In the end he looked beautiful & freshly clean and seemed as if he were back to his normal sweet & relaxed state, and to top it all off she has FAR BETTER prices, i also wrote a review sharing my experience at the other groomers & they asked me to take it down offering a % of money refunded, so i see how they've kept their "highly rated reviewed" company alive. in the end I really felt like my kitten got pampered. This review is for cat grooming services only. I am so happy to have found Royal Paws, and it's wonderful owner/groomer Sonia! She always treats my baby, Lulu, like one of her own (or at least seems to!). Lulu won't let me near her claws to trim them, so off we go every 6 weeks or so to see Sonia. I'm not good with making appointments, so I'm very lucky that Royal Paws is very accommodating about fitting us in on the day I call. I know trimming her claws only takes about 5 minutes, but it's still a huge convenience for me. The salon is cute and Sonia really seems to love her work. You can hear her talking and cooing to the animals as she works in the back. My cat goes in majorly stressed out from the car ride there, but leaves relaxed and with perfectly trimmed claws - even the vet commented on them the last time we were there. read more

My daughter took our 6lb chihuahua to be groomed today. He is a rescue and was abused his entire life. He doesn't trust many people. He is always scared when he goes and comes home from being groomed. We have tried many places with bad outcomes each time. Today is the first time he came home happy and wagging his tail after being groomed. He was clean, hair trimmed, and she even took the time to take of his nails and paws. My daughter said he even licked the lady who took care of him and she referred to him as "Baby", which I thought was so sweet. I took my nine month old ragdoll kitten to Sonia today and I couldn't have been happier! Quinn (my kitten) had gotten dirty last night and refused to let me bathe her.
