Great pet store with many varieties of toys, tears and food. However bummed they stopped carrying the brand I used to purchase for my doggie, right when I was so close to getting a free bag too! Three stars rating is due to the uncleanliness in the bathing area. Disappointed to see the area dirty in between clients. Never used the self bathing services again. read more

My husband and I really like the convenience of taking our miniature schnauzer Gracie for her weekly biweekly bath here at Pet Supplies Plus. They offer a really nice bathing center. They also have hairdryers as well as shampoo and conditioner if you don't have your own. To be fair the staff here are young, but in most retail places the staff is young. Taking that into account they are always pleasant, they may not readily greet you when you walk in the store, but that's okay with us. Once we're at the counter and ready to check out , they are very friendly and do ask if we found everything we needed. If we ever have a question, we do approach them at the front counter and ask if they have a specific item we're looking for, they are always more than happy to walk to the aisle and show us what our different options are, which is very nice of them to do that. We are so very pleased to have this nice pet store in our neighborhood here in McKinney, Texas. read more

I was trying to go to a different pet store and punched in the wrong location in google maps and ended up here. The staff was very nice when approached but they didn't offer to help me without me approaching them first. I did look around the store and I thought it was reasonably priced on things I knew the prices of. They had some really good clearance prices on items at front of store. I was able to get some $40 parrot food for half price. That was a major find. The clearance items do require a manager to ring them up - it only took an extra 2 minutes to get checked out. The store has a few reptiles and a very good fresh water fish selection. I don't think they had any other live animals for sale. I thought the prices were all in line with other stores in the area - and better by a dollar or 2 on many items. Some of their fish were lots better priced than other stores. I paid just over $3 for 50 mealworms & they were all in great shape. I liked the store quite a bit. read more

**Warning, this review is about crickets! ** I have a tree frog as a classroom pet. I buy small crickets about once a week. All reptile owners who buy crickets understand the struggle of keeping live prey. I always buy 30 small crickets weekly. It usually costs $5-$6 from competitors (petsmart & petco). Pet supplies plus only cost $3 for 30 crickets. The downside is these were teeny tiny crickets that didn't survive the weekend in their cricket carrier. So, yes Pet supply plus was cheaper, but the crickets were micro small. I can get heartier crickets from competitors that are twice as much. read more

Diane in grooming was very kind and gentle with my dog, who is such a scaredy-cat and special needs dog! Diane was quiet but very quick and thorough to get him in and out and kept him calm. I've taken my dog to PSP several times before, always had a great experience and accommodating for my fearful brindle Boxer needing his nails trimmed. But today was EXTRA special and I want to acknowledge how great Diane was, I so appreciated her! Diane's the best! read more

Grooming Service--Lizette (Groomer). The day before my dog's grooming appointment, she called to relate she could not groom my Yorkie because he was too old. My dog is healthy with no ailments, extremely calm and has never had a problem with grooming. After speaking with the manager, Eyan, Lizette told him during the last visit over a month ago my dog had been stressed due to the Express Service (that I pay extra $$ for). This was not mentioned when I picked him up and I was never informed of this! Although the manager offered concern this is still not acceptable customer service. Employees should not be allowed to turn away business, make up untrue statements whenever they choose and if Express is not a service they can honor it should not be offered. read more

This location seems to have some questionable business practices. I called and scheduled a Bath and brush, I have used this location regularly for several years, but they will no longer receive my business. After paying and leaving with my pup I got a call an hour later stating they did not charge me for the de-shed package. First I requested a bath and brush, second I never received a call stating my pup needed a de-shed. Christian the manager even stated their policy was to call before adding any additional charges. I did say I would pay the difference but after going in today I realized this must be very common at the McKinney location. First I was asked if it was a nail trim, nope not me, then came back with a de-shed package for a Ms Jackson with a Siberian husky, nope wrong name and my pup is a GSD. Asking my name at the beginning would have saved me 10 minutes of waiting. This is poor business management, why are so many customers not being charged at time of service? As Christian put it, it must have been a miscommunication problem...apparently it happens often. read more

I went in over the weekend to look for something for my dog. I ended up finding a cheap toy on clearance so I decided to pick that up as well. The guy at the register rings me up and notices that the clearanced toy isn't ringing up to the price on the sticker. He verbally tells me this then also says he doesn't know how to change the price and instead of calling his manager over he says sorry and charges me the full amount. Now, this was a cheap toy, this review isn't about the price, it's about the principle. If you are going to mark down items then at least train your employees on how to use the register or have your system recognize the discount. If it requires a manager approval then the employee needs to know that. I usually love pet supplies but I'll stick to a different one moving forward. read more

I generally go to Petco, Target, Ross or Homegoods for all my dog's things, but ever since this PSP opened, I love checking it out every now and then! There are things that are still quite expensive and you can find cheaper elsewhere, but occasionally they have really good sales such as buy one get one half off or big discounts on certain items. I also definitely recommend becoming a member. It's free AND you get special member only pricing which saves you so much money. They send out coupons every now and then too! The thing I love most about this PSP is how clean it is. Yes, it's new, but they're doing a really great job maintaining it and keeping it clean. They have a self service bath area, grooming, and a wide variety of canine and feline food, toys and more! They also have aquatic things as well! read more

Use the dog self-wash for our labradoodle and the area is always clean and well-stocked with various types of shampoos and fresh towels. Great variety of dog food, treats, and toys, as well. Great Grooming Department! I have brought my collies to PSP for grooming or for a "bath & brush" ever since the store opened in McKinney. The groomer, Lisette, and her assistants are excellent. Lisette is very skilled at grooming and the BOYZ look great each time she sends them home from their appointments. Lisette and her assistants are patient with and nurturing to each of the dogs. I appreciate the friendliness of all of the workers in this store. Hector, the manager, inspires a welcoming atmosphere where customers are assisted courteously and expediently. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG INTO THE STORE IF YOU CAN NOT HANDLE HE/SHE OR IF HE/SHE IS AGGRESSIVE TOWARDS OTHER DOGS THAT MAY BE IN THE STORE. I just went to this store and in the same visit not even within 10 minuetes when first walking into the store this lady was near the front with her French bulldog who she had on a lockable leash but was completely extended and the dog was walking around freely I walked in with my dog on a short leash right next to me my dog had no interest in the bulldog as my dog just was walking by this French bull dog snipped at my dog and got his butt.. didn't break skin but just the fact that people bring their dogs in the store who cannot act right much less have an owner who's just like them‍ a few minuetes later we were in the dog toy isle and this wet poodle who had just gotten a bath there which they did not dry this dog at all but off leash this dog is running around and comes up to my dog and starts getting all in his parts and doing too much being way to aggressive to where my dog again got scared. The owner of that poodle was just walking no bother to quickly handle the dog just saying Ariel!! Come here!!.. that's not gonna work.. my boyfriend and I just decided to leave after that. There was no workers around or even at the register and they released the dog to the owner without the leash on after the bath... with the dog still soaking wet... terrible experience read more

Today they decided to cancel his appointment talking about the weather is gone be bad because it's raining outside and was trying to move up his appointment to the morning after they set the time for 1:30 pm. This place is right off of Virginia and 380 and it's such a great place. Clean and nicely layed out. Has a great wash station. And some of the only brands of food that one of the pickiest of cats will eat.
