Stay as far away as you possibly can from this place. I dropped my yorkie off this morning and the last thought on my mind was his safety. When I walked back in the doors to pick him up, I was greeted with "I nicked his leg". No one called me when this happened so that I could get my 4 lbs dog immediate medical care, so no telling how long he was in pain. He then proceeded to carry my 4 lbs dog by his neck, not the scruff on the back of his neck, his actual throat to the front of the facility to show me the horrific scene even closer. I had to rush him to the hospital where they performed emergency surgery on his leg. There is no way the man who "groomed" my dog is qualified to work for here. I've brought my border collie here for a few years and never really experienced any issues ( nothing superb but no big issues). However I brought my Golden Doodle last week and my poor dog was nicked on both ears as well as had a big cut on his back. To add to that there's a random bald spot on his hip. I'm not one to do many yelp reviews but with so many pet grooming options in Mckinney, I had to provide this feedback to see if Eldorado Grooming would step up their game. This is the second time we took our 1.5 year old golden retriever here for a hair trim and wash. We had a 10:30 am appointment and was told it would be 2.5-3 hours. I told the guy exactly what she needed and expressed that she did not need her nails trimmed as the vet had just done them the week prior. 1:45 pm hits and I still hadn't received a call to come pick her up. I call in and they tell me she just finished a bath. I don't know what the point of making a 10:30 appointment is if they didn't get her started until 1/1:30 in the afternoon. We didn't get to pick her up until almost 3 pm. In addition to that, we get home and see blood all over our white couch, to find that her nails were trimmed after telling them not to. They had clipped through the quick on her back toe and she was still bleeding 40 minutes after getting home. I would absolutely not recommend this place and will not be going back. It's no wonder it's the only groomer we could find with next-day appointments available. read more

This place takes ALL day for them to groom your pet. I've gone here multiple times and I've dropped my dog off before 10 am several times and they always say it'll take a few hours to pick him up but my dogs never ready until 5:30-6-30 pm EVERY SINGLE TIME!! And that's after i call them and ask for a status update. They don't let the dogs out to go potty they just keep them in the cages all day like if you're at least going to keep them from 10-5 TAKE THEM OUT TO GO POTTY!! they're also super rough with them too!! My dog has came home with a broken blood vessel in his eye and cuts all over his neck every single time! I'm not sure what they do here but DO NOT come here. read more

The first time I used them and they did not follow the written instructions so I gave them another chance because I thought there might be a language barrier but obviously they decide what's the best look for your pet. So for the 5 star reviews you are seeing, keep in mind the groomer likely has the same taste as the owner because they absolutely do not follow instructions. Butchers!!! I have two cats who have been getting trims their entire lives, 3 or more times per year for 10 years. Never had a problem with anyone else. FIRST TIME I bring them here, one gets a nice gouge out of her side, the other get s a really long cut on the front of her hind leg! The worst part is, THEY DIDN'T TELL US ABOUT IT!!!!! WE HAD TO FIND OUT A DAY LATER!!!!! The long cut, they fixed it with superglue!!! What kind of silly sadist makes this big of a mistake and doesn't even tell the owners?!?!?! Their answer to that? "oops, sorry i messed up, it happens." Their solution, we take the cat to our vet and they pay half the bill. OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!! NEVER use these guys! If you treat your pets as family, keep this in mind. As a response to the comment below, its all true. They did give my wife a refund last week however, after she brought the cats up to show the cuts that were having trouble healing. If anyone else wants to see them, I have pictures feel free to ask me for them. Updated Nov 11: Their first response here was a complete denial, now 9 months later the response was changed saying they offered to pay and all this other stuff, still not true just a different lie than before. No worries, I still have everything documented, anyone wants details and pics can email me for the information. Fortunately my cats have healed, I get them trimmed by a professional now, and judging by the continued decline in ratings of these guys I don't think they'll be in business much longer. read more

We have tried multiple groomers and have Not been happy. ELDORADO is AWESOME. We have used them 2 times now and they are so kind and loving. It makes me happy that they groom in the front they are gentle and talk so sweet to all the fur babies. The guys at Eldorado Pet Grooming rescued me from an ocean of fur! Lucy, is my funny, rock star cat, but she was also a big-time shedder. Fur flying all around all the time. About a year ago, I looked at reviews for pet groomers and found these wonderful, creature loving guys. I decided to take a risk and see if she could handle being groomed (okay, shaved). A big miracle truly happened that day; Lucy did totally great and looked absolutely adorable! She goes crazy happy, running around and playing every time she gets home. AND.... no more fur everywhere!!! For real! I still can't believe I no longer have to vacuum twice a day anymore. Lucy is now a loyal and regular customer. Checked my dog in at 2 an came up at 430 asking how long. Was told by Zeth th owner that and I quote "people have been waiting since 8am just because you have a appointment does not mean anything" he was aggressive rude and out of control. So bad that his employees had to ask him to call down. My dog had been there hours and had not even been touched. They have also gone up in price by $10. When I spoke to the owner, he was a jerk and wasn't even concerned about my dog. He just said - things happen, it was your choice to bring your dog to my place...... They only have that business for the money, but it is obvious that they don't care about animals. I'm so upset because of what my baby is going through right now. I don't normally write reviews but all the negative reviews were really surprising and I wanted to speak to my own experience here. I've lived in McKinney for 6 years now and have taken my two shih-tzu's to many groomers in the area, this place was by far the best one I have been to. My first visit was this week and after calling our regular groomer and not being able to get in for 3 weeks I called Eldorado Pet grooming and they got us in the next day and the cut looks fantastic! They were also softer than any other place I've been to. Added to that my dogs didn't seem to want to leave when I picked them up. The owner seems very friendly and made it very clear he would fix anything I was unhappy with and just to ask. I was pleased with the prices and the customer service and will definitely be returning in the future. read more

I can't speak to this establishment's dog grooming but DO NOT TAKE A CAT HERE. They are neither equipped nor qualified. My persian cat had had a bath here several months ago and it was $50 for a pretty poor job of bathing him. He looked like he had not been brushed and they hadn't even dried him. He was obviously still dirty too. I took my cat here to get a lion cut and bath today because I was in a pinch for time and no other groomer was available for a week or so. When I dropped him off, the woman told me it would take TWO HOURS to finish and I asked her why so long? She replied that they give that amount of time for all pets regardless of how long it will actually take. SKETCHY???? Am I right? I was like oh okay lol I'll just wait here, I kinda want to be close or see how you guys do it. I didn't think anything of it because I was genuinely curious but the woman seemed panicked that I had asked and said that I couldn't go past the front desk for "insurance reasons." The woman and groomer quickly became nervous when I politely asked "oh weird why is that?." Again, "insurance reasons," and the man who does the grooming said there are lots of barking dogs it would be unpleasant, but no actual reason. I reluctantly said alright and my bf and I went next door to the awesome pho restaurant (but that's another yelp review) to grab some thai tea and wait. I had a really bad feeling about leaving him there and he may just be a cat but I would hate myself if he was traumatized. I read the yelp review where two cats had gotten pretty bad cuts that the groomers did not tell the owner about AND had even tried to fix one of the cuts with superglue... I flipped the hell out and ran out of the restaurant and told them I changed my mind and wanted to take him back. The guy comes out laughing and said he already shaved him and goes over to the station and grabs a wad of his fur and throws it up in the air. I'm like oh how wonderful... okay I'll take him then. They said oh he hasn't had the bath yet see? He goes to the back and picks up my 11 POUND, huge ass cat by the back of his neck with one hand not supporting his body or anything. He's holding him up and shaking him at me yelling across the room to me. I understand you probably would hold them like that to wash and groom them but it definitely wasn't appropriate to hold him in mid air and shake him that way. What if he was an older cat with back problems???? I was HORRIFIED. I was trying to act natural and I was like ok fine go ahead just wash him and we'll be on our way. They said it would take an hour... I was like no problem I'll wait in the front chair, where I was previously told I could wait, and they told me I couldn't wait inside the store... I COULDNT WAIT IN THE FREAKING STORE FOR MY CAT? I said fine I'll just take him then, please just stop holding him like that. Took him home and washed him myself. He had knicks and little cuts here and there but a pretty bad one on his tail. read more

My dog Diva is my baby. This is the first groomer I've gone to where she didn't hesitate at all. Even when I was filling out the questionnaire and the groomer was holding her she didnt whine or cry. The whole grooming experience took under an hour and Diva looked great!! I recommend Eldorado Pet Grooming if you want somewhere to take your dog that you can trust!! WOW! Our Maine Coon cat came home calmer than when we dropped her off! She looks and feels so much better. They bathed and thinned her coat beyond my expectations. My dog had puss oozing from bloodshot eyes and razor burns and nicks. I asked the owner to cover the costs of seeing a vet and he just wanted to argue about not noticing anything while my dog was there. Be very careful if you pick this place. read more

I have been going to this salon for about a year now. I have a goldendoodle and a golden retriever that are groomed about once a month. I have always been very happy with the grooming. My goldendoodle looks wonderful every time. They always comb out her mats instead of just shaving them like other places have done. They are very consistent with the cut she receives, never too short or too long. I highly recommend these groomers. read more

I have been taking my dog here for the last year or so. The last two times have been a disappointment. The last time they nicked him so badly he had to go to vet for antibiotics. This time, he came home with bloodshot eyes. I'm not sure if they got hair in his eyes or soap but it took 4 days to get them back to normal with daily saline flushes. My pup is like family and it hurt my heart that these things happened. I think they care about the animals but I think they have gotten careless.. I won't be going back.. I have taken my Wheaten Terrier to this groomer three or four times and I have always been very pleased. They seem very knowledgable about the proper cut for pure breeds and I think they do an excellent job of making sure their customers are very satisfied with their services. Horrible horrible experience, I get there and the guy (I don't remember his name) manhandles my fur baby, secondly watches me and my boyfriend leave the store. He tells us she will be done at 1, mind you she got there at 10, and only three dogs there, then we get there at 1 and she still isn't done and more dog that got there after my dog was already done (she had an appointment). So he tells us at 2 she will be done we get there at 2, and she is done, we notice that she is favoring her paw, come to find out the groomer cut her right paw pad bad, and then she can't be picked up because her right leg was hurting also she cried every time we tried to pick her up! So sad that my baby had to experience this just because her normal groomer was super busy. Just a horrible experience I DO NOT recommend anyone coming here ever!
