Donna usually takes care of him but when she is unavailable I've had others bathe and/or groom him and each experience has been positive. Don't take your large dogs here (Lab or bigger). They can not accommodate them - crates are not big enough, bath tub is too small and grooming tables are way too small! They let all of the dogs roam around together under the legs of the groomers ... while they are grooming! How safe is that? And I don't think this place carries insurance either! read more

Let me qualify my poor rating, Donna actually does a lovely job in grooming the dogs. My one star is that their unprofessional scheduling is absolutely terrible. More than 50% of the time I have had errors in the booking. Examples: - I show up on the day of the grooming and am told i have the day wrong...only to pull up the email confirmation that showed I have it correct, - They cancel with only 2 days notice an appointment that has been made months in advance and then tell you they can't take your dog for another 1.5 months, Not sure if it is the groomer changing her schedule last moment or if the woman at the desk is inept...either way I can't go months between grooming for my dog. I have given them 2+ years to try and get this ironed out but they keep making these mistakes. So unprofessional. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Fur Friends for about two years now and Arial is my groomer. She does a fantastic job of grooming my guys. Plus she really cares about animals. She is the reason I use them. This leads me to the problem I have with getting ahold of them for appointments. They never answer their phones and do not return my calls when I leave messages!! Its so frustrating!! I am a regular customer and I had to physically go there today to make an appt. since they were not returning my calls. The front desk person always seems to be frustrated and overwhelmed. I had to speak with Arial today in order to get an appt. I would like to speak with the owner about this issue. Outstanding groomers, plus!! They really care about the animals, unlike some in/out places. I have a rescue dog, that was obviously abused at some point, and she is very nervous around new people. When I first called, for her first visit to be groomed, I explained the situation...they put me with Lindsay, who is outstanding! All the dogs I see, when I take her in, are always as happy as they can be without their people! Lindsay, the first time and everytime, came out and greeted Sue Lillie with me there and let her get used to her...infact she always comes out, when she sees her to make sure Sue Lillie is doing okay with her anxiety that day. This last time that Lindsay groomed her she noticed, what looked like an infection that was forming. As soon as I got there Lindsay asked me to come back and showed me what she was concerned about. Thank God, because I did take her to the Vet and she needed antibiotics and steroids to clear it up. My experience with everyone there has been nothing but positive! I have nothing but great things to say about the entire team! read more

What a rip off - they advertise a free grooming when you buy one as a new customer - here is the secret you cannot get the free grooming first they make it hard, second it has to be within 30 days (I have small Dogs who stay inside and I bathe) why would they need this to be every month The scam is to get you onto a monthly billing cycle There are a ton more places in mckinney that offer nicer, cheaper services - would stay away from this one. read more

I brought my dog in for the first time to get his "summer cut". Fur Friends did an amazing job and my dog and I were extremely pleased with his haircut. They asked questions about any possible concerns, listened to my suggestions and gave him lots of TLC. We will definitely be back! read more

Not a fan of their grooming. Gave a fluffy puppy and got a shaved puppy. I was told he was matted. We brush him every alternate day so not true. We put that behind us and let him grow out. We had an appointment this morning that we were given zero reminders for. No email reminders or calls or texts to confirm this appointment. They would reschedule with a 20$ no show fee. I didn't even know they have that policy. I voiced my disappointment about not getting a reminder and the lady on the other end says "sorry you feel that way" and hangs up. I'll be taking our business and pet elsewhere. read more

Fur Friends is the BEST for pet grooming! Our dog has been going there her entire life and has never been anywhere else. Debbie takes such good care of her and grooms her perfectly. You will not find a pet grooming establishment that cares more about your fur babies. I would not even consider going anywhere else. They are the absolute BEST! Fabulous!!! Went here for the first time today and are so pleased! Our little dog is a little nervous (ok, a lot) around other dogs - when I came to pick her up she was perfectly groomed and playing with the other pups!!! Big bonus with Fur friends - they have set appointments! No dropping them off in the morning and wondering when they will be done!! A full groom took only 90 minutes! Very impressive! We took our Schnauzer there and was very disappointed in the results. He was matted in areas, as he has been in the past. However, his nose was shaved uneven and he was mostly shaved all over. Our previous groomer in Houston would work to get the matts out if possible and only shave in certain areas. After the grooming at Fur Friends, he looked ridiculous for months. I would have expected a call if they were having difficulty with the grooming and have an agreement as to how to proceed. read more

I agree with the comment about set appointments. I have a rescue dog and I took her to a place where they made her stay all day long!!! She actually cried all the way home. Never never again. Fur Friends' policy of appointments is very considerate of the dog and the owners. And they are very nice people. read more

Very disappointed. Premium pricing with student/apprentice results. I called the owner who offered a touch-up, but it's hard to touch-up what has been cut off. My Yorkies' ears are jagged, places along their bodies are not even, tuffs of hair are sticking out here and there; just a general mess. The student/apprentice was so frazzled she could not get the harness on one of my dogs, and forgot about the bandana and cologne that were supposed to be included. Very difficult to understand how this business could receive any type of award from McKinney Magazine. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

I will never return. My dog was groomed their twice second time neck,ear cut bad enough where I had to take it to the vet for meds and nails clipped in the quick as well. Ran thru the ringer and will never be the same due to this experience. read more
