I was there last night with so many questions about adding a new addition to our family. The first woman seemed bothered by my questions but then I ran into a young man who stayed with me and answered every question I had. He showed me around the store and showed me everything I would need to purchase when I decided to take the new little furry baby home. The world needs more people like this. read more

The staff has been much friendlier and helpful lately. However, prices are still high. Watch for coupons to ease the pain a bit. There's no reason why dry foods and most treats are as expensive as they are. Most are made with meat scraps, fillers, grains and other cheap ingredients. Manufacturers have been raising prices because they know people love their pets and will likely spend more money for them. It's time for stores to push back to PSP corporate and to manufacturers and get them to lower prices. But I doubt these greedy people will do anything about it. My new go-to for my 5 dogs! We use Purina Pro Plan and this store has a much larger variety of flavors than our local PetSmart. I believe they pretty much have supplies for any animal. I can only speak about dogs as that's all I come here for. Large selection of varieties and treats! Always busy and better pricing. Sign up for their free rewards program and check the back of your ShopRite of Wallington receipt next door for even more coupons to use with them. Generally clean store. Worth driving few extra miles to get what I need then be stuck with limited supplies elsewhere. Highly recommend you visit! read more

My visit was very disappointing. The store was cluttered and not too clean. Many of the Betta fish in bowls and fish in tanks were dead. There was a ferret in a three tiered cage that was very dirty and no food or water was present. Also, there were no toys or bedding provided for it. The staff needs to improve on animal care. read more

We trust our puppy's grooming to Pat. She is familiar with his breed and connected with him from day one. Pat does an amazing job with him and always has his best grooming interests in mind. This is a great pet shop with really friendly customer service! It's not as big as PetSmart or Petco of course, but that's why I like it. It's not overly crowded and they sell a popular brand that I've only been able to find online until now - Open Farm! You can order online for in-store or curbside pick up. I was a true believer of "shop local" . When the best pet store (so I thought) closed by me, I was at a loss. I saw ads for Pet Supplies Plus in my local papers. I decided to give them a shot, since I figured I had nothing to lose. So happy! I was very pleasantly surprised by all of the selections! In our home we have dogs, cats, birds, Guinea Pigs, fish & bunnies. They offer a nice selection for each of these pets! It makes shopping really fun for them, and that actually means fun for me! Coupons for this pet store on the back of all shop rite receipts. The fish section is a bit sad as they don't properly care for the fish. Many are dead, weak, or sick. They should do away with the fish section if they don't know how to properly care for the fish. I have visited a few times and I agree with the other reviewers. The staff and managers are super helpful. They have a good return policy and it completely painless. When I needed a recommendation about which of the many antibiotic sprays to use they were spot on. I think it helped my cat's paw heal. I just wish we could get him to stop chewing on it. The bitter apple spray did not work. They do price matching which is great. I never once had to wait to find a cashier or hunt for someone for assistance. The store is very clean as well as the bathroom. When I visited I saw 2 dogs in the grooming area and they both seemed to be in good hands. The only issue I noticed is that the adoption both/ section is small, looked sad and was empty each time I visited. It would be nice if they had an arrangment with a rescue group or shelter for one or two mature cats who need a home. It also might help the store sell more cat products. Seeing cats in a cat tree, using a facy litter box, wearing a harness, using a cat scratcher, or playing with a featured cat toy. It migbt be a good way to sell more cat stuff. I have 4 rescued cats so I buy lots of cat stuff. I generally go to the Secaucus Petco specifically because that store does so much for animal rescue. Wallington is much closer to me so it would be nice to see more involvement with rescue groups in this store. read more

Even though this store is quite far from me, I drive here monthly for my dogs specialty food and their baths, who nobody seems to have anymore. The food has great specials and the self bath station is unlike anywhere else I've ever seen, the water comes out w shampoo and/or conditioner infused. I wish there was sucha thing for humans too. I was VERY happy with the Wallington NJ Pet Supply Plus. They have everything I need for my dogs and birds. I went there for an adoption event they were having and when I brought my new rescue in everyone was so kind and helpful. Pat Raymond was an amazing groomer who took my new little Bella in, gave her a bath, dried her, and put an adorable bow in her hair. I took my German shepherd to pet supplies plus self service and gave her a bath.. she very soon developed a huge lump on her spine. I noticed she was in a lot of pain so I took her to the vet and came to find out she got furunculosis. Which was from bacteria that had developed in their dirty soap bottles . Not to mention their nasty dog towels. Definitely do not go here , it is not worth having your pet go through something this bad. It is a painful deep skin infection. read more

The staff is excellent, everyone is friendly and helpful. Pat is my English Bulldog, Carmy's groomer. Everyone on the grooming team is really good, patient, helpful, and go the extra mile. The only time i've had to wait for a cashier for a couple minutes, is bc they're usually petting my pup - or someone else's, and honestly I will never mind waiting for someone who is enjoying a job perk, like petting or playing with dogs. It's not as big as the other per chains, but that's one of the reasons that i like it. Plus their online rewards are some of the best out there. When I bring my dog there, he's on sensory overload, between other dogs in there, and the treats - he loves all the sniffins. For him, I think it's like the equivalent of how I'd be if I went to Willy Wonka's factory. lol read more

if you have reptiles and purchase live bugs here please make sure you're checking for life and mold I was given dead molded bugs that smelled horrendous told them and she brought out two more claimed to be just received in store but all but 3 worms out of three 25 packs were alive I doubt you'd feed dead molded food to your pets so I shouldn't I was highly upset that all three containers were bad how do you not check this before handing to customer read more

If I was given a choice to give negative 5 stars, i would. This place is the by far the nastiest, heart breaking pet store I have ever visited. Let me just start off by saying that most fish tanks had MANY dead fish inside while having the rest swim around them. Secondly, there was a cage with two ferrets that were just so angry and vicious towards each other and it seemed as they were hungry. The cage was so filthy beyond measures. I am such an animal lover and when i saw there was a pet store right next-door to the ShopRite I was visiting, I instantly parked my car and was so excited to go see a few animals with my daughter but unfortunately this is what we walked in and this is what my daughter had to experience. I really hope the right person sees my review and goes to the store and regulates. It's horrible. read more

Alyse, the excellent groomer of Pet Supplies Plus (Wallington, NJ) was highly recommended to me via a good friend who has a handsome cocker spaniel. I have had my dog for a few years now, a valuable service dog who helps me in so many ways. However, it's been more than difficult to find a groomer that is reliable, experienced, compassionate, patient and loving to her charges (and their owners) the way Alyse is. Out of all the groomers whose services I have utilized in Manhattan (with one exception) and Northern New Jersey, Alyse is by far the absolute best. I was fortunate to book my dog's grooming when Kayla, Alyse's assistant, was available to assist. Kayla is an 'Alyse in the making'- compassionate, caring, professional and with an innate sense of understanding dogs (and I'm sure cats as well). Kayla helped my dog be extra calm and relaxed. Very few dogs enjoy being groomed but it is necessary for their health and well-being and as such, I devoted a lot of time attempting to locate just the right groomer, someone who could do a wonderful job for my dog and fortunately I have found that treasure in Alyse. The work she did was beautiful AND functional. My dog's fur remains gorgeous even after several rains and snowflakes which usually turn his fur into frizzy knots, but not after Alyse groomed him! He is just as fluffy and handsome as he was when I picked him up after Alyse finished creating her masterpiece. Not only did Alyse do a fantastic job, she is a pleasure to speak with about dogs and is very knowledgeable regarding their behaviors. I started going here because they had VIO pet care here twice a month. Smart move I am always leaving here with something for my baby. I have never encountered a nasty person all have been polite and helpful. I haven't tried their grooming service yet I will update when I do. For those who don't know what VIP pet service is, they are traveling Vets. They have great packages for their shots and what not. Save money. Vets are very loving to the animals. Went for the Self-Serve dog wash! Loved it! 5 sessions for $25. It includes 4 different shampoos/conditioner, hose, blow drier, apron, towels and they have a spot for small and another for large dogs. Attendant was very nice. She explained how things worked and was at my services if I needed anything else. They also have grooming. So I did a nails walk-in. Everyone was nice. The store looked well stocked and they had several sales going on. Definitely going back and would recommend it. Only one detail to point out. It would be nice to have some hooks or shelves for people using tue self-serve to put their stuff. read more
