They have the best prices especially with their frequent discounts. The online order to curbside is also a huge plus. Yes please bring out the 35-50 lb. bags of food my car :). The staff there are very nice and one time they didn't carry one of the items I wanted so they called me about a replacement item for the order and they were able to apply the same discount when I arrived to pick it up. The only annoying thing I've noticed is that they don't carry certain things that I would have to look elsewhere or maybe online. For example, the pill pouches/pockets I usually like getting the Milk Bone brand since it's the best value but they don't carry them in stock. I ended up getting these Canadian Zoe pill pops, which are kind of expensive but when they're 25% off discount it didn't hurt to try. read more

I started coming here when I moved to Waltham in early summer of 2020. Given that we were living through a peak of the pandemic, the store handled all the Covid hurdles in a very safe and effective manner, and even today they continue to work on their toes to make sure people's pets are able to get their food, medicine, etc. while keeping both human and animal customers safe. I appreciate the employees laid back manner, despite their being very hard working people. All of the managers I've had the pleasure of meeting have gone above and beyond to help me get the products I not only need but want- if somethings out of stock, they'll order it right away and update you on when it will be arriving in the meantime. They clearly care about their customers and knew who I was, my dog, his preferences, etc. after only 1 or 2 visits (and that goes for most of the employees, not just the managers!) and I'm always greeted with a warm welcome. I love that they ask how my dog is doing and they always let me know about certain products being in stock or on sale, knowing that they are products I buy for my dog. I also love how professional they are. Given that it's a pet store, sometimes im just browsing for a new toy or chew, and I've found that in some pet stores you can get a bit side eyed or have employees "following" you when taking your time to browse. I get it, but there's a way to be professional if you're concerned, you know? The employees here never make me feel like I'm doing something wrong by browsing but they also know when to ask if I need help. It's just awesome customer care. I saw a manager once take care of an issue (three middle school aged kids with no parents, not shopping but asking to pet customers animals, they asked me which of course I said no but very awkward) and they handled it quietly and quickly, as to not make a scene or embarrass anyone but to not put anyone in danger, either (that could be a huge liability!). I didn't have to tell anyone either, they noticed immediately, which is huge. When the new reward system came out, I had trouble with redeeming my points for months- but they stayed on the issue with corporate until it was resolved, keeping me in the loop the whole time, AND figuring out how to give me the discounts the rewards would have had they been working. I didn't give it 5 stars only because of a couple things: at first, the rewards program gave you a lot of ways to earn points, perhaps they realized they were giving away too many, and now they reduced the reward incentives by a lot. I loved that you were incentivized by reading educational articles relevant to the time of year (how to keep a dog safe in summer heat, etc) and they still have that feature, but you could read maybe 5 articles and watch 2 videos a month and now it's 2 articles if that, and only other incentives are buying products or services. Not a huge deal, but I also noticed their prices have gone up a lot since I started going here, so the extra rewards would be more useful than they were originally. I also wish they carried more products- specifically toys and accessories/supplies. Their toys are the same you can get at Marshall's for 1/4 of the price, and I haven't noticed any new toy lines. I'd also like to see more specialty products, like bandanas, birthday supplies and Halloween costumes. I really only shop here for my dogs food now, and get supplies and toys elsewhere. read more

I loved the company at first. They carried the dog food I fed to my dogs and had coupons, but now they don't carry it the last few times I came in. Dogs can't just change food like humans can. It causes diarrhea and vomiting. Very disappointed that they stopped carrying what I originally bought from them. They also looked at me like I was crazy when I told them that I have been buying this food from them. I know what I've been buying. The last two purchases I've had to get the Core brand instead of the regular grain free Wellness which is more expensive because it has fish chips in it. Why do companies do this with products that they originally got you in the store with? It's beyond me. read more

The people at this location are amazingly responsive, kind, thoughtful, and proactive! When I couldn't pick up my order due to a foot problem, they offered to deliver and also to help bring it inside if I couldn't carry it. Pet supplies plus has everything your pet needs. I love the location, and every time I eat at Chipotle I stop by to get a treat for my dog. They had the cutest donut treats a few weeks ago (see picture) and my dog basically inhaled it. He is pretty much a super-chewer, but the store brand of toys here is great for him; they have that really durable rubber-type toy here (see blue jack-shaped toy). What's even better is that their store brand usually has a 30 day guarantee so if you keep the receipt they will replace if it got destroyed. Haven't had to use the guarantee yet, but it gives me peace of mind that it exists. They have such a great selection of toys, and it's always different every time I'm there. I fell in love with the comically-large rope toys but they're perfect for my medium-sized dog. If you need toys or treats, pet supplies plus has them! read more

I couldn't reach where the can foods were, I asked for help from an employee who was unpacking. She very rudely said she was busy and I would have to wait! Then I asked if they had more variety of the food I had gone after, again the employee barked at me with the respond of I'm sure you are not blind and can see for yourself. So I got a manufacturer coupon at the face value of $70 and when I tried to redeem it here. But they said they could not take anything more than $30. Their cashier Brandon was very responsive and passionate to help me out but their shift manager Amy was a badass she kept saying "no you are wrong we don't do coupon more than $30...". This store has the friendliest, helpful staff out of any pet Supplies Store that I've experienced. The store is very clean. I'm always greeted cheerfully. If I need help finding a product they show me right where it is and have knowledge of it. If I don't need help they let me shop alone and let me know they are there if I need anything. If I need help carrying heavy purchases to my car they are more then happy to do so, and when I've tried to tip them for the help, they won't take it. This store is the best. It blows Petco out of the water in terms of price and customer service. The folks that work here are always very helpful and pleasant to work with. I also volunteer with a local cat rescue and have participated in a couple of adoption days with them at PSP. The staff is always welcoming, supportive, and sweet, and always has a box of donations for us to bring to the rescue cats. They have an extensive selection of product at competitive prices. Plus, if you have a courtesy card with them, you'll receive coupons and promotions from them in the mail. I love buying supplies here because of the cost and selection. Plus, the store is always very clean and well maintained. I was really tired of the highway robbery going on at the nearby competition, and PSP has been a welcome addition to the neighborhood. read more

I was so excited when this store opened. Clean store. Friendly staff... But my excitement quickly faded. I now drive to the other side of town back to Petco. Simple reason too. Every time I go to buy food or supplies they are out of stock. The staff always say they can "special order it". That's very nice. But I go out to buy cat food, a new cardboard scratcher, or even fish food and they don't have it in stock. Now I live 2 minutes away..... First time it happened I said well, it's a new store. 5th time for canned cat food and I said I'll be going to Petco. Sorry nice staff. Maybe the dog owners love you. Not this cat & fish owner. I'm going back to sitting in traffic to drive to the store that stocks their shelves so they have what I need when I walk in even if I drive past your store every day. Another observation that I noted while waiting 15 minutes for a person to tell me they didn't have a basic fish tank bulb in stock, they don't even have Gold fish. Really??? They must have fired half the staff they originally hired. You're lucky to find anyone to help you. But the staff that are there aren't rude. So I gave them two stars instead of one..... BUYER BEWARE. This pet store is one of the worst pet stores I have ever been to. I went in and bought a dumbo rat, as I fell in love with her, she was about a month old when I had purchased her, and she was always a little off but still sweet. I took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with mental problems and the vet determined, from scarring on her head and throat, that she had been struck at by a snake. A DUMBO PET RAT ATTEMPTED TO BE FED TO A SNAKE. She was in my life for 9 months and she passed a couple days ago. After an autopsy from the vet it was determined she had been neglected at her first couple weeks after birth and it ultimately led to her death. As I have forgiven this pet store for my loss, I have since recently returned. When I walked in, I was disgusted by the smell alone. It smelled as though there was old dog food spilled and maybe even a hint rodent pee. I was looking through the store and noticed they had more baby rats. As I am a rat lover, I walked straight to them. Their enclosure, in which I should mention was over crowded, was completely disgusting. There was urine all over the side and I could see nothing but feces covering their poor feet. I could no longer look at these dirty babies, so I decided I would get what I needed and leave, if only finding it was easy. As any customer would, I asked for some assistance finding the product I was looking for. I asked a woman named Tanya or Tina or something for some help. Upon seeing her, no offense, she did not seem very professional. She had on a sweater that was covered in hair and she didn't look very approachable. Anyways, I asked her for my product and she, in my opinion, very rudely checked for me. I understand people have bad days but they are in customer service. AND AFTER THIS TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE THEY DIDNT HAVE THE PRODUCT. I'm extremely disappointed because I really really loved this pet store when it first opened. I became close to people there and everything was clean the first couple of months. There was one particular woman who worked there who always knew what I needed and even though it wasn't in the job description, was like a friend to me. Jen has since left and the whole store is falling apart.
