The process was easy, they were very helpful and accommodating to guide us about the final menu and how much we needed to insure we would have plenty of food. Our party was being held in RP so we picked up the food ourselves, they helped load it taking care it would arrive safely...and it did. We choose the Tri-Tip that comes with containers of Demi Glaze & BBQ sauce Balsamic chicken Sausage variety (that they sliced into rings) Pesto Cheese Tortellini Beef Ravioli with red sauce Roasted whole red potatoes Garden salad Caesar salad. Everyone raved about the food. We highly recommend using (or at least getting a quote from) Petaluma Market to cater your next party. One of my favorite things to do on vacation is walk through local grocery stores. Petaluma Market is a really nice one, with a long history in town. The afternoon I went in I was getting pretty tired so I decided to get a bunch of to-go beers and ready made food to relax at the hotel. The store has a cozy character that comes with being loved. They had a lot of ready made food items, plus all the traditional stuff of other grocery stores. Prices were reasonable, especially with how healthy a lot of the selections are. It was a popular spot with many people doing their afternoon shopping. The beer selection was amazing for me, lots of Russian River and other regional staples. The staff was also friendly, both the beer stocker and cashiers. I highly recommend shopping here if you're in Petaluma. read more

Petaluma Market Catering made catering our Petaluma-based event incredibly easy. The staff were helpful, clear, responsive, and patient with every question I had. All of the catering platters were delicious, generously portioned, and delivered right on time. This place is expensive, but it's worth the money. My husband wasn't feeling well, and we were staying home all weekend, so we decided to go to Petaluma to get some pastries and some pre-cooked deliciousness. We always know that the Petaluma market delivers, and we get the chicken tacos outside the taco shell. They have melted cheddar cheese, and inside is ample chicken. It's marinated with something I can't tell you what, but it is delicious. Like I said, it is quite a solid bit of chicken. If I want something quick and delicious, I grab these. Stick them in the air fryer for a few minutes, ready to rock. Delicious. We also got the chicken quesadillas again for a couple of minutes in the air fryer. You're ready to go. It was a hot weekend, so I was not interested in turning on the oven. They make these almond Joe cookies delicious, moist, but crispy on the outside, crispy almonds inside, delicious every time I come here, I get at least one bag of those. In fact, they use my picture on the cover of this market. They make a bomb quiche, Lorraine, another perfect choice. You can heat it in the microwave, and again, you can use the air fryer, which works like a dream, making things crispy on the outside, bringing them back to life, and making them delicious. Everybody here is always helpful. Nice big smiles. It has an old-school feel, and there is definitely a lot of wood. It's a little cramped, but it has a ton of great stuff here, and if you want something that's premade and delicious, which is very difficult to find, this is your answer. I visited Petaluma Market in Petaluma, CA on Saturday, 3/1/25, around 1:30 PM. What stood out to me about this market was the offering of hot & cold food. There were a plethora of options such as prime rib, chicken marsala, ravioli, macaroni & cheese, ribs with barbecue sauce, soups, salad bar, etc. I decided to get a box of salad, prepared with chicken breasts, eggs, shredded cheese, tomatoes, black olives, and cucumbers. I paired it with ranch dressing. The ingredients were delicious and super fresh. I truly enjoyed the salad. Along with the salad, I also opted for soup. I got a bowl of Chili and added shredded cheese on top. It was warm, hearty, cozy, and flavorful. Upon my observations, the price points of most products are on the higher end compared to other stores. Even for my salad and soup, the total came out to nearly $30. That was a bit expensive for just two products. Overall, Petaluma Market is a clean, well-organized store with friendly staff members and tasty hot/cold food. It may be good to shop here for certain things, but not primarily for a huge grocery trip, as things can add up very quickly. read more

We must be considered "poor" or something, because when my EBT card comes up declined answerni got was very uncaring and "yeah, EBT cards haven't worked since Wednesday" great, is anyone doing anything about it? I feel like a revenue stream for your store not functioning properly should be a big priority instead of telling your staff to inform the customer that "it hasn't worked in a while". When I walk into a grocery store and am immediately greeted by the lady cutting the cheese, I know it's going to be a good experience! Stopped in while visiting Petaluma to see what the locals buy to make their meals and ended up walking out with a variety of cheeses, wine, fresh fruit, and veggies. Had to tell everyone about the excellent lasagna and penne we had catered at Petaluma Market for a big birthday bash on Friday, June 13 for 60 people! A number of people asked where we got the food catered and EVERYONE was shocked when we told them it was from Petaluma Market and not from one of our better Italian restaurants. In fact, I was sitting with a couple, and the wife said she NEVER has seconds, and she went for a refill of the lasagna for her husband and herself! She owns a major business on the eastside and said she will keep Petaluma Market in mind for catering that she may need later on in the year. Poor customer service, the young cashier was standing there laughing and snickering at my mom because she was taking her time writing out a check and my mom has Parkinson's disease so her hand shakes and she has no control over it. Great local speciality grocery store located in Downtown Petaluma. They also have a variety of slices of JM Rosen Cheesecakes available for sale, which I highly recommend! I stopped by on a Monday afternoon, and they had a few different cheesecake slices available: blueberry, mango, fudge, fantasy chocolate (with a layer of chocolate cake), and amaretto. They also sell whole cheesecakes for $29.99. The cheesecakes are located in one of the refrigerated sections next to their deli. The blueberry flavor was very prominent, and the cheesecake was the perfect thickness but still had a smooth consistency. From the minute you walk up to this store until you leave you are in another world. The store is clean, filled with items you can't get anywhere else, fresh produce, a huge selection of cheese, amazing meat and a deli that just takes your breath away. If you like chorizo make sure to try theirs, they make it themselves and it is the best I have had. Did I mention that the staff is amazing? They go, routinely, above and beyond to help you, and always with a smile. Yes, this store is expensive, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. While this may not be the place to do your everyday shopping, it is absolutely the place to go when you are having a special event, when you need the absolute best to serve your guests, when you need the perfect loaf of bread (row after row of bread you won't find anywhere else), when you are wanting to treat yourself to the very best that a store should offer. I have been going to this store for over 15 years (as we would be going to Bodega Bay to visit my Dad who just passed in December), and as with a fine wine, they have gotten better with age. This place deserves the 5 stars despite many claims to their steep prices. You get what you pay for they always deliver not only in quality groceries, but also in great customer service. A special shout-out to Laura, one of the friendliest and sweetest cashiers you will ever meet. We ordered a thanksgiving meal and I was just impressed on how well everything tasted and how perfect the portions were for 6-8 people. Everything came neatly packed and with heating instructions. This was a tremendous help for my wife and I since we don't have a lot of time and we were able to focus on appetizers. What can I say about their hot food bar? I'm all about the breakfast items, especially their burritos and sausage muffins (now more affordable and extremely better tasting than a McMuffin). Love the bacon. Sometimes I go in there just for a few strips. Salad bar is also phenomenal. Very clean and fresh! Really love this market in some areas and not so much in others. Cheese section and butcher/deli are really great. The "cheese lady" is knowledgeable and so helping when selecting premium cheeses. Bravo. The staff is really nice and helpful and overall the experience is a good one. Whomever manages the produce section should understand that tomatoes should never be refrigerated if you care about the flavor. Anyone in the food industry knows this is a rule however, there are those that overlook it for cost savings as tomatoes degrade more rapidly without refrigeration. Tomatoes are expensive these days and to pay $$$ for tasteless refrigerated maters is not something I will do. It was beautiful pieces of chicken, all white meat and warm sauce in separate container. Petaluma Market has always been more expensive than the competition and I would never do the majority of my shopping there consequently. However, it is a convenient location if I need one or two things. AND, they are a family store so I let it go. I buy Schepps Zero Tonic at Bev More, Raley's $3.99 a 6 pkg of minis. I went to Petaluma because the person at Bev More DIDN'T LISTEN, I drove there and they were OUT. I called a liquor store, $5.99 so I called Petaluma Market. I figured it would be $5.99, NOPE $7.99. I won't be shopping there any longer as $4.00 above 2 other competitors that I checked, forget the liquor store is BS. I went in today for 1 item, BEST FOODS, 30 oz, $12.99!!! I called the Grocery Outlet, after talking to their useless son Benjamin (who couldn't check the shelf) I got someone who would, $5.99, $7.00 MORE than the competition? It's overpriced - but my main complaint is the sourness and hostility the management puts on display. So unhappy and unhelpful. Is major bad energy just inherent here? It just feels like bad will here. I'm sure it must trickle down to the employees as well. So much turnover - always new faces that seem stressed they can barely communicate. We don't shop much here as it's only gotten worse over the years. All, be sure to check expiry dates on products as I've put way too much trust into purchasing items only to find out that pint of vanilla yogurt expires on tomorrow.
