We've brought our two dogs here about three times for theirr grooming routine, and they have always been gentle and have given the dogs a great bath and cut. I was glad to see that they were open the day after a major holiday, and the groomer went straight to work. While that was going on, I walked around to see what cool things that I could buy for my dogs. We have plenty if dry dog food at home, however I kind of wished I had bought it here. Instead I got three refrigerated packs of the 'just for dogs' frozen food packs. I figured that they both will like the beef and russet meal, and the turkey with whole wheat macaroni meals. Our goal is to keep the dogs as healthy as possible, and this dog food can't get healthier than that! I also got the three pack of tennis balls which is their favorite game.

My DOG box I bought that is the same as the Capstar cat box.

I have never written a bad review but idk what just happened. I'll preface that I've been working in pet stores, for rescues, and even in zoos for well over a decade. I know my stuff. Also another young cashier (male) saw this happen on 9/15/23. I went in for some Capstar. Before the re-brand, dog and cat 2-25lb Capstar was kept in one box. Now they have them in separate. It's the same thing. I went up to ask for a box since they're locked. I asked for the cat 2-25 but if it's not there, I'd take the dog 2-25. The cashier (female, short dark hair, wearing a mask) proceeded to make a lot of snarky comments asking if I'm willing to risk my cats and about how flea medication has warnings to not use with the other. I clarified that Capstar is not one of those and it's 11.4mg of nitenpyram in either. I even said I'd pull it up online to show. We went back and forth for a bit. They continued to argue but went to the box to look for the cat one. I found the information on the National Institute of Health site showing it's the same active ingredient and safe for cats and when I leaned over to show them my phone, they straight up screamed and fell back. I said sorry and they said "YEAH COVID". I told them I just wanted to show the page that shows it's the same... I bought my Capstar and left but maybe train your staff about how Capstar differs from topical flea medication so people running rescues aren't forced to pull up the medication websites for things that should be common knowledge to the employees (i had to learn it when I worked in pet stores too). Proof in photos that I know what I'm talking about and don't need to be demeaned by someone who doesn't. Also maybe don't scream at someone and maybe just ask them to take a couple steps back instead?

I was driving by the petco in Annandale and decided to stop by and check it out. I'm glad I did!! They have a variety of healthy water plants as well as full tanks full of fish to choose from. I'll adventure to this Petco if the one in Burke is low on aquarium items.

Brian did an amazing job!!! and the staff at Annadale location were so helpful in using my Vital Care & checking out. Thank you!!

Email of only one item being filled, when then do have more in store on the shelf.

Awesome sales online with a promise to save 15% with pick up over $50. Time and time again I order from here to go pick up, only to find one out of several items I ordered are filled. However, upon pick up of my 1 out of 6 items, I found that others are found throughout the store on the shelf for customers to purchase at full price. If this was a one time occurrence, ok...crap happens. But this is an on-going issue that happens repeatedly. Why am I wasting my time to put in an order that isn't going to be filled (that could be filled) and then have to drive to pick up one item, and find my items are there and then have to repay and then play financial accountant to determine what should be deducted from my account. And to add to it spending more time making sure the correct amounts are deducted and credited back. This is exactly why people are shopping on Amazon. The cashier was helpful in giving me the original price I paid online, after negotiating--but this is ridiculous; and whoever is managing this store needs to get it together. It's great they have a satisfaction guarantee of products--but that's if you're lucky enough to get your order filled. My pets can't try what Petco doesn't fill. I guess it's shame on me this time.

This Petco hosts frequent adoption fairs with Tails High cat adoption where we fell in love with two kitties (Chubbs and Precious) and successfully made them our new furry family members so thank you for that Petco! The store itself could definitely use a good restocking when it comes to the cat section - I think the past 3 weeks I've seen the same litter box selection every time I've gone. They have great toys though and the store over all is very clean and organized, just needs more stuff. They also had a cute "free picture with santa" event for your pets.

She is clearly knowledgeable and skilled, but what truly sets her apart is her holistic approach and genuine care for animals. She treats every dog as an individual and tailors her training to meet each one's specific needs. That same thoughtful approach extends to her human clients. During this time, I was dealing with significant health challenges and was not able to attend every class. She kindly offered makeup sessions, which I deeply appreciated. When she learned that my absences were due to my health, she checked in on me personally and even asked if it was okay to call me at home to see how I was doing. Her compassion meant more to me than I can easily express. She showed more care and concern than many people I have known for decades. Anyone looking for a dog trainer should go to her, not only for her expertise, but because she is genuinely kind, attentive, and deeply invested in both her clients and their dogs.

I was looking around and found Keri, and right after the consultation session I knew she was the right fit for Mamba. Mamba has gotten much better around dogs and and other people, and not only that, now I understand his behaviors and what to do in specific situations, She not only trains the dogs, but also emphasizes training the handler (me). After the 6 sessions (I am actually only 5 sessions in) -- I can confidently take Mamba around other people in crowded areas knowing in advance how he will react. Keri is not a trainer, she is a coach and I swear also a dog whisperer. She is very flexible when scheduling and even brought me homemade cookies when my dad passed away. His initial three-hour in-home training course was amazingly effective, so much so the change in Buddie was almost night and day to us. Upon meeting Buddie for the first time, Tommy immediately knew the kind of sensitive dog Buddie was and tailored his training to suit. His techniques were easy to understand and master and can be practiced anytime we're with Buddie. No more barking when the doorbell rings, or when a car passes, or a stranger approaches. The tension was gone, the barking and toy-fighting stopped, and even our older dogs--who had been keeping their distance--seemed relieved. What really makes Tommy stand out is the continued support. He's incredibly responsive, provides real tools and a step-by-step plan, and genuinely checks in on your progress. The Lifetime Guarantee is a huge comfort--knowing we have ongoing access to help if new issues arise takes so much pressure off. Pebbles (blue heeler, 1.5 years old) would never listen to me, would not sit or lay still, and had a lot of other obedience issues that caused her to be stressed or confused. She was a TOUGH dog to train and I was concerned I couldn't find the solution for her to get basic concepts. This view has completely changed since working with RSK9's 3 week program. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. This isn't a regular class or something you just pay for; it's truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together. Side note: it's worth doing 3 weeks versus 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark is when Pebbles really started to understand her marks and cues. From here there is so much more that can be refined and Brandi/Perry really capitalize on that threshold being crossed!

He's very sweet but started to get rambunctious to the point that my remote work felt challenging. He also started jumping or freezing when he saw other dogs on walks, and he occasionally barked or growled and men. We weren't sure if it was the start of aggressive behavior or just the result of a shelter dog that hasn't been exposed. After doing our research, we decided to do the 3 week behavior modification board and train program. We were really impressed from beginning to end. They shared a ton of information upfront, walked us through their facility (we opted to drop him off) and sent pictures and updates every evening. It became clear right away that they both have a very deep understanding of dogs, as well as a real respect and love for them. Tuck loved them! The best part was the "transition" day when Perry brought Tuck back and spent the day teaching us everything they've worked on together. We are first time dog owners so generally going in pretty blind. Perry gave us a 101 on dogs and the importance of clear and consistent communication. He talked through all of the layers of training and how/why it is effective. We felt this part was SO helpful for us to understand how to be better owners. Then we walked Tuck around the neighborhood with Perry guiding us and then spent time addressing indoor behaviors too. He was flexible and stayed until we felt comfortable with everything. This is a long review so the TLDR: finding a trainer is a big decision and investment so we wanted to get it right. Brandi & Perry were really incredible and beyond our expectations!! Truly worth every penny! Tuck has been doing really great at home and outside since being home. I've been able to work full days with him holding "place" on his cot, which would have been unheard of before!

Lisa was so great with my 6 month old beagle and was professional, a great teacher, and such a nice person! We had gone through the basic puppy training at Petsmart (6 weeks of one hour group sessions) and that had helped with basics like sit and stay but we had problems walking him on the leash and getting him to be more obedient. The four session package was $320 and so worth it! Lisa starts out by discussing your expectations and makes sure there's no expectation gap. I told her that our big goal was to get him to walk better on a leash because he either dragged behind or ran ahead, stopped to sniff forever and it would take 5 times as long to get wherever we needed to go. Over the course of the four sessions (spread out over 2 months, per my request) my little guy has gotten very good at down, stay, staying in his bed (Lisa said this was good because if the pup is trained to stay on the bed, then you can take the pup to hang out at a coffee shop or restaurant outside); he got over a stair phobia, we're working on recalls ("come" command, even from a distance), and she gave us advice about how to walk him (apparently tugging on his Easy Walk harness is ok...he is much improved now). I highly recommend the one on one training because you can train your dog in home, outdooor, and dog park (or places with other distractions) environments. Lisa is a great teacher and gave us fundamental skills to keep training the pup. The homework is targetted at your dog's specific needs. Well worth the $320.
