I am very late in writing this review, but I wanted to share how meaningful my experience was. I…read moreenrolled my puppy, a red standard poodle, in her classes, and very quickly realized she was exactly the kind of trainer I had been searching for. She is clearly knowledgeable and skilled, but what truly sets her apart is her holistic approach and genuine care for animals. She treats every dog as an individual and tailors her training to meet each one's specific needs. That same thoughtful approach extends to her human clients. During this time, I was dealing with significant health challenges and was not able to attend every class. She kindly offered makeup sessions, which I deeply appreciated. When she learned that my absences were due to my health, she checked in on me personally and even asked if it was okay to call me at home to see how I was doing. Her compassion meant more to me than I can easily express. She showed more care and concern than many people I have known for decades. Anyone looking for a dog trainer should go to her, not only for her expertise, but because she is genuinely kind, attentive, and deeply invested in both her clients and their dogs.

April is knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly effective at tailoring guidance to each dog's temperament and each handler's skill level. I especially appreciate how she focuses not just on obedience, but on building confidence, socialization, and a strong relationship. Seeing the progress from one generation to the next has been really special, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with those critical early training foundations.

It is apparent they love pets and ensuring their proper care. The reports I receive after each visit put my mind at ease, particularly since one of my kitties is wary of people she doesn't (and, at times, does) know. I also enjoy the photos. The app that APC uses is a user-friendly interface that allows you to handle virtually all business with APC, and the team sends reminders to confirm the scheduled visits a couple or more days prior. As others have commented, make no mistake about it: the services cost and sometimes, the sticker shock gets me, particularly considering the circumstances for the visit. There is a weekend charge, per day, per pet, and a holiday fee, per day, per pet whenever there is a holiday or it's APC's dedicated holiday season. While I expect to pay to have someone briefly interrupt their own holiday plans to handle the things with my kitties that I cannot, boy oh boy does it add up and quickly. A loyal customer discount or customer appreciation savings here and there would definitely be welcomed! That said, I know I can leave my pets in good, competent hands and that my home is secured, as well. They will tend to plants and pick up the mail, if you ask, and they do leave things orderly. I love the notes, the pictures, and the care they show my pets. I know they have been kind to my pets and that's the most important thing to me. I definitely recommend and will use again.

Columbia Pike Animal Hospital & Emergency Center

I developed a relationship with Columbia Pike Animal Hospital a couple years ago. My fur baby was…read moreattacked by a much larger Akita. Needless to say he lost the fight and needed emergency care. I called 4 nearby hospitals and they were booked solid. I called this facility and they promised to be ready to help upon arrival. I drove over an hour to utilize this animal hospital, staff met us at the door as promised, then quickly proceeded to treat him. They showed so much care & compassion! A few days ago, I noticed my pup refusing to walk even during nice weather days. His genitalia was dark red & inflamed. I took the voyage back to the hospital and received the same level of care that I remembered. They have an onsite pharmacy, so we went home with 3 Rx & an e-collar. He's healing slowly but surely. We have pet insurance and a wellness plan elsewhere, but I will pay out of pocket for the top tier service & 24/7 coverage that I receive here.

It felt as though profit was prioritized over patient care, particularly when dealing with elderly clients who may not fully understand medical decisions. While I was out of town, my mother-in-law brought in our family dog, Walter, after he fell and became paralyzed from the waist down. He was diagnosed with IVDD, yet no one at this hospital knew what stage he was in. After returning home and doing my own research, I determined that Walter was already at Stage 5 IVDD. I then contacted the veterinarian I work with at a different hospital. Based solely on the information I provided, she was able to conclude that Walter would most likely never walk again due to not receiving surgery in a timely manner. At no point did anyone at Columbia Pike explain the urgency of immediate surgery or that delaying it would drastically reduce his chances of recovery. Instead, we were told that three weeks of medication and strict crate rest would be sufficient. When I later called seeking clarification and guidance, the only recommendation given was to pay for an MRI to obtain more information. Additionally, despite knowing that my mother-in-law would have difficulty administering medications, no one offered basic suggestions such as using pill pockets. As a result, she resorted to giving Walter chicken nuggets to get him to take his medication--something that could have negatively impacted his health. This experience was deeply upsetting and highlights serious issues with communication, medical guidance, and patient advocacy at this clinic. If you truly love your pets and want the best for them, avoid this place at all costs. EDIT : I called 3 times today in the span of 11 hours asking for medical records and still have not received any.
