I had been with them for about a year and that's only because I had moved. They have a really great rewards program and customer support line for any issues that may pop up. I had been taking my dog to the groomers regularly and they always do a great job. I highly recommend joining especially when your pup is young and needing all those appointments and vaccinations. I had an appointment to get my pup groomed here and brought in my proof a vaccination for rabies and all the other vaccinations my pup has had and was told my paperwork from the vet wasn't good enough. I went to PetSmart with the same paperwork again that I got from my vet and was told it was more than good enough. I'm really disappointed with this location especially with their lack of attention to detail. I know the lady at the desk told me she was new and I believe that I shouldn't have been turned away due to their lack of knowledge. Petco lost a customer for this. read more

I dropped my dog off here for a haircut and told them several times to make sure they kept the face longer but cut the body short. My girls brought him home just now and I was in shock! They chopped his face SO short he doesn't even look like himself. I called the store and asked if they didn't understand what short body/longer face meant. The girl on the phone said that she told whoever cut him to have a "teddy bear" face. Nothing about this cut looks like a teddy bear face. I am very upset since I wanted my dog to look cute for my son who is coming home that hasn't seen his dog now for 2 years. He won't even recognize him because he doesn't look like the same dog! We have to live with it now for months until his hair can grow back. If you want a short/short haircut all over then I guess this is your place. I won't be back!! read more

Why is this performance always so dirty? We frequent many Petco and PetSmart locations across the valley and this one always has half opened boxes and cartons in the aisles. After taking her two other places and then coming back I realized the grooming is terrible. I asked to have her completely shaved and this is what I got. I've taken my dog to Petco for grooming for years. I have been using the Bountiful Petco for the last year and a half for my older dog. She's an Akita and blows her coat. 3 times a year I take her in for a bath and de-shedding treatment. They have always done a great job with her, getting all of her undercoat off, trimmed her nails, and put a cute bandana on her. Unfortunately, this last time was horrible. She had tufts of shedding hair on her legs, head, and back. No bandana and they didn't trim her nails. I called to tell them I was disappointed in the groom and the young lady told me that I could bring my dog back in for 20 minutes of free brushing. I've never had to do that before. It was like they didn't even try with my dog. I'm not even sure they bathed her.... I will not be going back to Petco and have to find a new groomer. read more

I took my yorkie to get her hair cut, she had really long hair and I told them do not shave her really short, and they did anyways and they cut her legs and head looked like a 5 yr old took scissors to her and butchered her hair! It was not worth the price and I don't think they even showered her at all, she had hair coming out of her so bad, so I had to bathe her and see if I could even out her hair.. My dog got a choppy haircut. They even shaved part of her tail on accident. I'm not happy at all. The grooming here is the dog version of Fantastic Sams and Supercuts. I'd recommend spending the money for a haircut you'll be happy with. Unlike me where I have to look at this pathetic cut for who knows how many months until it grows back. I regret coming here and this will be the last time I come back. The store itself is fine. The staff is friendly and are always excited to see my dog. This store has everything and anything you could want for your pet, we just moved to Utah a couple of months ago from So Cal and our dogs aren't use to the cold so even though it was March they still had doggie jackets! They look so cute! And now they will stay nice and warm. They also have a treat bar were you can pick out a few of these and a few of that, and they are all gourmet! read more

The pet self-wash station for $10.00 is a quick and convenient way to clean our big dog. A puppy pal recommended the wash so we gave it a try. The large wash basin was three times the size of our 70lb. Goldendoodle. She enjoys the bath and calmly sits and basks in the attention. Petco provides shampoo, conditioner, medium size towels, and bulky blow dryer. The water pressure was high but not excessive. I used my own special shampoo and conditions for my dog's hair. The towels were sufficient. The blow dryer would shut off after two minutes. It was annoying with a dog shaking dry all over the room. I also brought my own wet brush and de-tangler. For $40 Petco would wash and groom the dog for me. $10 to do it myself and have my boys laugh as they wash and dry the dog is worth it. read more

We scheduled a grooming for today for our little yorkie a month ago, and when we brought him in, he wasn't on the schedule. That's ok, we understand when there are mixups, but the clerk was rude, and not willing to do any checking. Now we are glad we didn't leave him there, who knows how nice they will be to him. Bought some water conditioner from here for my rather established goldfish tank, as well as 10 new baby goldfish and then all the new goldfish died and two of my established goldfish died. After a 60% water change the water wasn't conditioned by the stuff I bought. After waiting 10 minutes for the aquarium guy to come out, he tried to say that it was a bunch of other things even after explaining to him the only variable between any water change was the water treatment stuff that I had bought. Apparently common denominators eludes him. Brought in testing strips and the one guy who's Brand New was able to find the key to the testing strips to be able to read the results and he was able to determine it was high alkaline and ammonia. The guy whom I was told has been working there for a little while in the aquarium section, .looked at the test strips and told me "I don't know what to tell you."bought a few things to actually help save my tank, get up to the register and they can only find five of my points. The cashier didn't know what she was doing and how to bring up my points and didn't know the answer to any of my questions pertaining to the points. She also told me, "I don't know what to tell you on that." These are people that are supposed to be working with live animals......sad. I'm going to drive the extra 10 minutes to go to PetSmart. read more

I've had nothing but horrible experiences with this location from not having what I need stocked, rude employees that can't be bothered, and horrible groomers. I took one of my dogs (2 years old) in yesterday (5/26) he was in about an hour before close (their allowed time slots) and he got a very rushed bath less than 30 minutes. He now has dry patches everywhere, I'm assuming left over shampoo. I had a second appointment scheduled for the next day (5/27) for my other dog (1 year old), which I should've thought through before taking him since the first encounter wasn't great but I digress, he was in to have a simple bath. We waited for an update for about 2 hours and received nothing. Tried to call 4 different times couldn't get a hold of grooming. I completely understand the struggle of a busy Saturday and possibly not being able to answer the phone but not a single text update to let me know that my poor dog has been probably kept alone for 2 hours with nothing being done. I finally called customer service on the 5th attempt of getting an update and they were able to finally get a hold of the groomers. I was told they didn't even start. AFTER 2 1/2 HOURS. They told me they would get him in promptly it'll just take another HOUR AND A HALF because they're very busy. Just ridiculous. Again I understand it being busy because it is a Saturday but when I leave my beloved puppy in someone else's care I am at MINIMUM expecting some form of an update. When I told the women that it's was okay no need to start we will be there to pick him up she seemed confused and irritated that I didn't want them to even touch him. When I arrived to pick him up (10 minutes later) he was soaked from being bathed even though I told them not to touch him. Somehow it was going to take an hour and a half more to finish the service but he was soaked when I picked him up? Then they made it seem like it was my fault that they weren't able to dry him!?! Either he was soaked in the kennel for however long or another one of my dogs got a half assed bath. I will never come back to this location. Just to put a cherry on top of my experience with Petco I am currently locked into a YEAR subscription (vitality) for whatever services they offer so I will have to make use of that at another location so I don't waste my money since I'm locked into it because I was never told this was a whole year and not a one time payment. Please stay away from this location or at least read the other negative reviews before scheduling your dog with the groomers or trying to find an item you need. Also, avoid vitality subscription if someone tries to sell you on it. read more

We love the grooming and the groomers. Our dog is smaller but a character and hard for me to bathe. They are wonderful with him and he comes home happy and clean very time. We have taken him five or six times and will continue. Great place! read more

DO NOT USE PETCO FOR YOUR GROOMING NEEDS! My dog was subjected to incredible lack of care and subpar service. I called twice to check in on my dog and I was told that things "were not going ok." My dog experienced was a severely botched hair cut that left her looking like a dog that suffers from malnutrition and is in a state of homelessness. She has an amazing, loving, disposition and I fear that it will be very challenging for us to receive grooming services from Petco and anyone else in the future due to what happened. No amount of money or "comped" services are going to make this right. I am beyond livid and believe by the general manager, Yvette and Sam L. should be held accountable. Petco had at least THREE (3) opportunities, for Sam L and Yvette to pause, and consider more deeply the consequences of what was happening. Shaving off all of my dog's hair (on her face, shaving her whiskers, botching the cut around her ears and eyes, and partly cutting the hair on her tail), in addition to subjecting her to a very dangerous environment, should not have occurred!!!! I was less than 5 minutes away from the store and just a phone call away. Sam L. should not have been the groomer for Dancer. Sam L. is clearly inexperienced as a groomer, but I also think Sam L may not have the cognitive skills for basic problem-solving and decision-making to hold this type of position. So I asked if they had any in the back and they advised that they do but it is still all boxed up and they told me they wouldn't undo the box. Such poor customer service. We used this Petco for the first time today. We dropped our dog off and let them know he needed to be shaved, he's a long haired dog who ran through the sprinklers at the boarding place a week ago and as a result his hair matted up. He also hates sitting still so as a result the groomer nicked his ear. I got a call from the Petco manager saying the assistant manager was going to have to take him to the vet hospital that's nearby to have it looked at but not to worry because it's very minor. I went and met the assistant manager at the vet's office and my dog was completely fine. He did have a nick on his ear but it was so small I couldn't find it and the assistant manager had to point it out to me. I honestly wouldn't have bothered with a vet visit over that but it's store policy for them to take the dog to be looked at if they get nicked in any way. I was glad they called me and took the precaution and they of course paid for the vet visit, they also comped the grooming so I didn't have to pay for that. I was very happy with the way the assistant manager and the groomer handled the situation. Not having to pay for the grooming was a nice surprise because especially after seeing how small the cut was I was still going to pay. I appreciated the customer service I received here and felt like they really took care of my dog and me. read more
