When choosing a vet for our three dogs, we wanted a clinic that could support emergency visits (if necessary) along with good advice. We LOVE this clinic. The staff are amazing and seem to remember all of us each time we call or come in. The dogs feel very comfortable with the staff. We recently had a puppy eat some medicine that was not hers. They immediately got her in and made her throw up. Luckily crisis was averted. They calmed me down as well! Now I know how they handle an emergency! I would highly recommend. read more

Made appointment 10 days ago for a hemotoma on my dogs knee. Went to appointment to find that is not something that they treat on Saturday. Staff did not unlock the front door for us to enter building although I was on time, they just didn't have their shit together yet. Unorganized, unimpressive and wasted my time. If I could give this place zero stars I would. They treated my dog for cherry eye, failed to check her eye at check up, left a suture in her eye which has now led to an ulcer and may cause the dog to lose her eye. Spoke with office manager Sophia and Dr. Shelby Abetya who refuse to admit they're wrong doing even with notes, photos and medical records and the eye specialist stating the suture caused all this. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this clinic. The first time that I visited them was about five years ago with my sweet dog. We thought she had a UTI but after a few days of antibiotics I had to take her back when the symptoms were not improving. They did an ultrasound and found that her bladder and kidneys were full of tumors and unfortunately I came home without her after helping her cross the bridge. They were so very kind, and understanding, and even sent a sympathy card a few days later. Flash forward to today when I had to take my three-year-old cat in after he stopped using the litter box for a couple of days. I called yesterday and they were able to get me in first thing this morning. They could tell I was very nervous and again they were nothing but kind. Took my kitty here as someone recommended them for sphynx cats, out of all the clinics I've been to this one is definitely not the worst. My wait was a bit long but the visit itself wasn't, they were able to help my cats anal glands. Which has been a relief for him, they are pretty easy to get an appointment with. I just started visiting Animal Medical Clinic this year, a friend recommended them to me and I am so happy she did. I've seen both Dr. Joe and Dr. Amy and both are fantastic. Dr. Amy helped us through a very tough time with our senior dog, Mokie. She was thorough and kind the entire time. I really appreciated the staff checking up on him regularly to make sure that he was comfortable. When the sad time came to say goodbye the entire staff was so compassionate. Dr. Amy and the vet technician (Brianne) handled this very hard situation with sensitivity, tact and professionalism. You can tell they really love animals and want the best for them. I have brought our other dog (Uhura) in for dental cleaning since. They all treat my dogs like they are their own. I feel comfortable leaving my furbabies in their very capable hands. Some reviews have mentioned cost and it is true- they are not the cheapest vet in the area but you get what you pay for. I drive from SLC to bring my dogs here for a reason. The are not the cheapest, but for the services they provide... in my opinion, they are by far the best in the state. I have two dachshunds (don't laugh) and they are expensive little dogs to start with... He gives them nothing but the love and affection. He & his staff are all very professional and have great bedside manner (ever when you don't receive the best news from the staff). My female bull Terrier Truly was there on a Saturday, late December 2023. She had started to discharge the day before and I took her there the day after. I was informed that surgery would be required to save her life. The surgery "had" to be scheduled within 45 minutes. I had my co-owner on the speaker phone. She asked about whether there was another path, as she was a very valuable breeding bitch. Jan, my co-owner asked about a method utilizing a large dose of antibiotics. Your vet told us that she was aware of two cases that used alternate treatments that later died. We were attempting to contact regular vet, Dr Carl Pew, out of South Mountain Care. He is a repro specialist. He was unable to return our calls and I arranged the surgery under duress. She healed fine, but we cannot have puppies after the hysterectomy. Last week I had a sit down with Dr. Pew. He informed me that vets have another treatment plan which uses a refined version of RU486. It is a three part treatment, which doesn't sterilize. Why didn't your clinic know about this? The hard sell on surgery versus a drug treatment was obvious. Even if the drug treatment was equal to the cost of surgery, I would still have an intact female capable of breeding. I have learned a lot in the past four months regarding vet capabilities. Many times I have found that profit over rides convenience. We have to trust in our times of need. Your may have gotten your $2500, but you lost a customer. Trust in your capabilities and choices was lost. I contacted another bully owner who experience the same situation with another vet in California. She went to a doctor who treated her female bully with her customer's needs in mind. She was able to have another two litters. Live, learn, and prepare for the future. read more

Dr Moon pulled all of our Chihuahuas front teeth (although our dog only had one loose tooth). After the surgery our dog now has issues breathing and has 82 tremors per hour. She damaged our Dogs sinus cavity and deprived our Dog of oxygen. RUN from this place & do not allow Dr Moon near your animal--this place could kill or severely injure your Dog. The prices are the same but thry have 3 vets and full staff. My dog was at ease with them she usually is so very scared and has anxiety attacks. So having curbside service was worrying. They saved my dogs life. We brought him in with spots all over his stomach after the groomers recommended we get him seen asap. All other vets we called had a month long waiting list at least but these guys were able to get my dog seen in less than a week! If we waited a month then he probably wouldn't still be with us so I'm very grateful to this clinic. It was fairly inexpensive even with blood tests weekly and the medication. Animal Medical Clinic has provided great care for my pets for about 25 years. At times, it was hard to accept a diagnosis, but they were understanding and stood ready to provide the necessary care that my pets needed. I appreciate the attention to details and follow up. My rescue dog has had several teeth pulled over the course of 3 years, as they've become severly infected. Dr. Moon showed us which teeth were bad and explained why they were giving our dog issues. We were also included in the decision about which ones to pull and which to wait on. It was hard to understand at first, but we now can appreciate how much better our dog feels, demonstrated by her increased activity and allowing us to pet her near her face, which, she enjoys. We have two boxers (one is not friendly to strangers and has separation anxiety) that have stayed up to 4 days in their kennels and we seek them for all vaccinations and medical needs. Worst grooming job my dog has ever had (in 5 years). The overall trim was very uneven, they didn't even trim the fur on his feet (the most important part, in his case), his face was left very asymmetrical, and worst of all, they cut off his very distinctive long black eyelashes.My children were horrified. I just hope they didn't treat him as badly as the quality of the work. They offered no real apology, just "We must not have communicated well." In my opinion, communication cannot account for lack of skill and care in one's work. In general, their prices for vet services are exorbitant. read more

He caused a month of undo pain and suffering when caring for our dog that led to death. I cannot say enough about the service me and my little old lady (dog) received, from the time I called to the completion of my visit I received nothing but the utmost compassion and support. I have a regular vet that had been my Suzie's vet for several years. Unfortunately Suzie got very sick very quickly, she was seen at an emergency vet which advised there was not much that can be done. She was given comfort meds from the ERVet and advised to reach out to my regular vet to discuss end of life compassionate care (euthanasia). My regular vet was not helpful and advised they would have to "squeeze" us in. At such an emotional time I could not understand the way they treated us so I made the decision to call around to other vet offices for assistance. I was provided the Animal Medical Clinic's number from another Veterinary office that was not able to see her for about a week, I didn't want her to suffer any longer then she already had so I called Animal Medical Clinic - they were so compassionate from that initial phone call. I have never been through this. They explained the process and what to expect she spent the time on the phone to help me understand and come to terms with the decision. When I arrived all the staff was so wonderful, the compassion from all I cannot even vocalize, I will forever be grateful for the loving service we received for such a difficult time. I feel bad I did not remember all of their names but I am so grateful for each one of them. They gave me strength to get through one of the hardest days of my life. THEY KILLED MY DOG. DO NOT USE THEM. If we could give it ZERO stars we would. We took our 3 dogs to them for boarding because one was diabetic and needed injections twice daily. They were the only place we could find that would do it. We will regret that choice the rest of our lives. We dropped off 3 pretty healthy happy dogs and picked up 2 sick dogs plus one-not yet sick. Our female that was diabetic smelled of vomit and poop. We were not called about her being I'll nor was our emergency contact called and when we had our daughter check on them mid-week she was told they were fine. We took the dogs to our personal vet ASAP the next day because the female was still vomiting and still had diarreah. Long story short we had to put her to sleep 3 days later. she had developed pancreatitis from so much vomiting. Her blood sugar was over 720. She had fluid on her lungs, a high temperature and high BP. The only malady that she had when she was brought to them was diabetes. I had to ask for a detailed receipt. Didn't get it. No mention of meds or illness..just boarding expenses. When questioned the vet-GaryN.-at AMC tried to lay blame on us, our vet, anyone but them because, in his words, his techs" never forget to document illness or give meds". Yes. We blame them. We took our dogs there for medical attention that could not be done at other boarding places (injections) and clearly she didn't get it. Our other dog has a respiratory illness and a cough which is being treated with antibiotics by our vet. I urge Everyone to think a million times before using them. read more

New in town, and found myself in the position of having to put my longtime cat and sleeping companion of 18 years down. So I brought her to this clinic, and sorely regret having done so. They sanctimoniously made me feel like I was suspected of putting her down for "convenience", and then *they* caused her (and us) unnecessary suffering. I have two major problems with their treatment of me and my cat. First, while I understand their reticence about euthanizing animals "for convenience"as they put it, the doctor scrutinized me and questioned me like I was a suspect, making me feel like I was trying to come up with spurious reasons to convince them to put down my cat. Sort of like a social worker who is barely concealing her belief that you are abusing your child and her consequent hostility. I hated being made to feel like that. Perhaps the Dr. is frustrated, but you just can't treat people like suspects and grill them when they're in grief. Second, and worse, I am not sure how someone decided that taking our cat in the other room, sticking an IV in her so that you can give her a sedative (and I did see that you guys tried and failed in one paw before doing the other... no wonder you had to sedate her), and then bringing her back to us drugged and non-present for the actual euthanasia... how this course of action is somehow more humane than simply euthanizing her with a single barbiturate shot with us in the room with her comforting her. Either way, she takes the pain of a shot. Either way, she is sedated to an extreme. But their way deprived us *unexpectedly* of our last moments with our little cat, while putting her through the extra anguish of establishing an IV in her arm with strangers, away from us. Instead, we were brought back our cat drugged with mouth hanging open. I wanted to say my final goodbye and comfort *her* in that last moment of her lucidity, not have her have that last moment with doctors fumbling with her vein and a needle. Not have our genuine last moment be with a heavily drugged, ragdoll cat. Funny thing was, they said they were just taking her out to put in the IV and then asked if I wanted to be present when they sedated her. I said yes. But they brought her back in sedated. Really? My guess is the IV was going badly, my cat was being hurt and resisting, and they sedated her to avoid the ugliness of bringing her back in traumatized and in pain from their questionable and over-engineered pain management method. Perhaps I am being cynical when I wonder why all this extra procedure was necessary, and I wonder whether it was a way to inflate the bill to $250+. The last moments of her littermate who was dying of cancer a year earlier was much kinder for both the cat and for us. The doctor waited til we were ready, then gave him one shot while we held him, and didn't hit us with an unexpectedly high cost for it all. I just felt sick afterward. I think, giving them the benefit of the doubt, these people are at minimum penny-wise and pound-foolish in their approach to managing suffering... all this production to reduce suffering, using means that create extra suffering on the way, for both the animal and the bereaved. I will not come here again, and I highly recommend going someplace else when you find yourself in the position of having to put your beloved pet to sleep. read more

We have been taking our dogs here for four years and we absolutely LOVE them. The vet staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I know that my dogs are getting the best care. We also take our dogs to their daycare facility a couple times a week. My dogs love it there, they get so excited when we pull into the parking. They treat my dogs like family and I appreciate that. I strongly advise against anyone taking their pet to this vet! A couple of years ago my dog was going to go to their doggy daycare but his records weren't updated for Giardia (he had been sick but it wasn't Giardia ). They wanted him to take the medicine for Giardia but I refused. His regular vet tested him twice and confirmed both times there was no Giardia. Recently my husband went to take them again to doggy daycare and they again wanted to medicate our dog. Just because they use a different test than our regular vet does not make them better or more knowledgeable. My dog is still fine, never did have Giardia and I will never use their services again. Don't push drugs on animals that don't need it just to bring in more money. read more

They charged me almost $50 to check my dogs blood pressure. When I filled out the medical questionnaire I listed that she had high blood pressure, along with the medication she took for it. They said that they didn't see anything on her chart about that diagnosis or the medication. They thought that I was still taking her to her old vet to get her blood pressure medicine. I said no, they just gave me refills on it. No other vet has charged for a blood pressure check! You would think this would be included in their exam! I had to ask them to check it (of coarse not knowing that they would charge me for it). If you want to get ripped off then feel free to take your pet here! read more
