System was down and the salesman there wouldn't honor the dog food sale price. I had to go to another Petco and had no issues there.

I WILLL NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS TAKE MY PUPPY HERE EVER AGAIN…read more Last year took my poodle for a groom service and they cut him pretty bad on his stomach and i took pictures and sent an email to the owner. Only to say it wasn't so bad and that he'll offer 50% off. I'll leave the picture below for your own judgement. I also have a yorkie so decided after a year later, hey why not see if they can groom him and maybe it wont happen because its an easier cut and guess what. Same thing again. I contacted the owner only to receive back another email saying how the dog had eczema when he doesn't only on his stomach and i specifically told them that, they look for every excuse to not be responsible for the harm they caused my dog. Do not expect to have the webcams work, they never do. I've also only received video posts or pics when I call and ask them, and it's mostly them standing outside the pen randomly filming a few minutes of dogs barking crazily or sitting bored. My main concern is the staff to dog ratio always seems off, and some of the employees don't always seem attentive to the dogs or anxious behaviors. Often (at least in the morning) there is just one employee with up to ten or more dogs. I've walked in for drop off and had to shout for someone to come out from the back while plenty of dogs are in the pen with no supervision. If a fight had broken out between the dogs, I can't imagine how bad it could get! They offer feeding and some sort of potty schedule, but there is no nap or break time option and the dogs mostly seem to be in the same play area every time (despite the facility have two or three?) without new activities, size groupings, or activity level groupings. Not industry standard which is a shame. I hope you can invest in a few more staff or volunteers and PLEASE GET YOUR CAMERAS OR CONSISTANT PICTURE REPORTS GOING.

Frankly, my first thought was, "Is it going to worth the money?." Answer is it was the best money I ever spent. The main thing to know is that at Instinct it is not a one-off appointment. They provide you with training and support well past your initial session (for no extra charge). I've had dogs all my life but when Ginger started to refuse to be leashed up to go out and did not fit the profile of a dog afraid of the outdoors, I knew there was something else going on. On the Trello website they provide for you after your appointment, I posted each day with an update on Ginger's progress or lack there of. Brian responded promptly each day with thoughtful questions, insights and recommendations. He walked me through various possible issues and potential solutions until we got it right. With Brian's patience, expertise and generosity of time, we were able to determine the issue behind Ginger's reluctance to being leashed.

I was traveling with him, and our departure the next day depended entirely on making suitable arrangements for the dog. We needed care for 10 days, and with so little time to research options, we went with a recommendation from my trusted vet: Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. We reached out to person who identified herself as one of the co-owners, who offered to personally care for the puppy. Because he was too young to stay at the main facility, the plan was for her to keep him at her personal residence. We dropped him off at the East Harlem business location and headed home. My friend is very attached to his dog, and he even got an Uber back the same day just to bring the puppy's blanket. He left feeling reassured that the dog was in good hands. That night, my friend was already missing his puppy and asked for an update before bed, and she sent over some photos, which he shared in our group chat. At first glance they looked great. Almost too great. Anyone who has spent five minutes with an 8-week-old Aussie knows they never stand still, so my first thought was that she must be a remarkable trainer to get a puppy posed so perfectly. But looking closer, I noticed irregularities in the images, and they appeared to be AI generated. These were later confirmed to be AI generated. I want to be fair here. I don't believe there was any bad intent, and the puppy was returned to us in perfectly good condition. But sending what seemed to be AI-generated photos instead of a quick real snapshot was a lapse in judgment that undermined our trust at the worst possible moment. When you've handed over a very young puppy on short notice, an honest update matters more than a polished one. Given the circumstances, we felt more comfortable collecting the dog, and a refund was promptly issued, which we appreciated. With departure set for the following morning, there was no time to find replacement boarding, and the trip had to be cancelled entirely. Between the non-refundable bookings and rearranged plans, it turned into an expensive problem. Others clearly have good experiences here, and the co-owner was pleasant throughout. This just wasn't the right fit for us, and I'd encourage them to stick with real photos for owner updates, even imperfect ones. Honest beats perfect every time.

Both cats were left in their carriers for long periods, resulting in fur discolored by urine. Despite providing enough food for 10 days, it was all gone when we picked them up, and the cats had lost significant weight, were dehydrated, and extremely anxious. To add insult to injury, the owner not only denied the poor treatment but also accused my daughter of lying about boarding the pets. She even managed to have my daughter's honest reviews taken down. Thankfully, we have photos of the receipt and texts messages between the owner and me. My daughter also has photos from that time that clearly show the deplorable conditions the cats were returned in. Those were submitted in the initial review that the owner had taken down. For the price we paid, we expected basic care, but what we got was negligence and dishonesty. This SHOULD be a police matter. I strongly advise against trusting your pets to this establishment.

Upon bringing my Kingston (all black cat) to the location, it was very clean and the owner was very inviting. She asked if my cat was in distress prior to his arrival, and I mentioned that he was meowing a bit in the car. She allowed my boyfriend and I to stay for a bit, to ensure that he was calm. She said that she can often tell how the animal (mainly cats) will behave the minute she starts to clip their nails. She asked for us to pet him and stay near him as she clipped, so that he felt safe and secure. Nothing more than someone other than me caring about my pet's wellbeing. This meant a lot! As we were there she also cleaned his eyes and ears, and brushed him gently, and she even got a wag from Kingston which is a sign of happiness. I then felt comfortable enough to leave so that she can continue to work on him. I will be booking another appointment with House Pet Grooming in the near future, as I felt she did an amazing job. May I add this was also my cat's first time getting groomed, so it was a new experience for the both of us. Thank you!

To cut it short we stopped in today after getting out from work. The store was lock, perhaps for security matters. I proceeded in ringing the doorbell. It looked like there was no one on sight. Out of a corner a Caucasian woman emerged, I assume it right after the events unfolded. This woman seem like she did not one to let us in. First hand she semi open the door and asked us very rudely what did we want? I was very surprise by the attitude and the stern dislike look in her face mind you no good afternoon or any courtesy greeting. I blurted out that I needed products to control fleas for our dog. She decided to let us in, my husband felt offended with her attitude and we decided to leave right after we step in. Why spend money where you are clearly not value as a potential customer? Seriously what was her problem? Obviously anyone that comes to your store is to either purchase something or might have a question. So, why have a business open if you cannot be courteous to your neighbors? She than got upset and blurt something out, I told her plain and simple that she was being a racist, why do you have a business in the Bronx? I mean Kingsbridge is predominantly African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Albanians and Greeks. So if you can't stand Spanish or whatever particular races you have issues with than you should rethink your location. I am rather offended because she than decided to follow us out and stared taking picture of our car. Like seriously what do you think, we wanted to rob your store or what? Did she assume this because I am Hispanic? This is just intolerable; we are in NEW YORK. I really hope that people think twice about doing business with someone with her behavior. I know I am certainly letting everyone know about this incident.
