I recommend the Crosby Pet center to anyone! The puppies there are healthy and happy. I got my Maltese there in March 2020. We are so happy with our fur baby. And if you need grooming ask for Enza!! She groomed my puppy today and I couldn't be happier!! He looks great and is so clean and fresh. She gave him a great haircut. Go see Enza at the Crosby Pet Center. The only con is that they give you a 10% off discount card for grooming and pet supplies but the girl behind the counter would not give us the 10% discount. I spent a lot at this store and I feel the girl behind the register today should have given me the discount but she would not do it. That's it. Everything else is good to go. Recently had my puppy groomed or ( butchered ) by Jane not only was her coat uneven but her nails were cut two short to a point that her paws were bleeding, when I called to ask why I was told that I should have trained my puppy better, also paying 115 dollars for a job I could've done myself, super unprofessional I would not recommend and actually fire her for her immaturity and lack of compassion. I have been bringing my dogs here for a few years was given Information from a friend. But yesterday I was given an appointment because someone cancelled. Did not see my usual groomer. I should of gone home. When groomer switched leashes she was pulling my dog. I explained that that one dog had trauma. When I picked him up his face was not fully groomed and she mentioned something about bleeding. I did not address right away because both dogs were really anxious to get out of there, they have never done that. When I got them home I closely examined boy dog who was not fully groomed in his face and found a laceration under his eye. I called shop today and spoke to a woman. I explained that I knew that my one dog might of given her (groomer) a hard time, that I understood things happened, that I had been going there for years and never had a problem. I told her I would of appreciated a call advising me of incident. She said well you were a walk in (was not I was given an appointment), she also asked if I wanted groomer to call me. No apology, no admission of anything. I guess walk ins deserve bad and rough service. Took my dog to vet and he has a laceration under his eye, groomer pulled a clump of hair under his eye and created it. Rushing or carelessness . Never going back. read more

I love this place and can't believe all the negative reviews. I have been bringing both of my Yorkies here for years to get groomed. Just today I called them up at 10am to schedule an appt and luckily was able to snag a same day appt due to a cancellation. I dropped off my Yorkie and when I picked her up I was so happy with her Yorkie cut. Their groomer Jayne did an absolutely beautiful job with her cut. She carefully styled and cut my dogs hair around her face and I love it! Jayne is the absolute best! read more

Yelp! I am beside myself! I call Crosby Pet store to give them an update on my furbaby after his grooming injury I will share how Furious I am at James the owner. Other staff members we so upset and empathetic About my dog being injured. But Not James ! So very rude put me on hold twice .I cannot believe for his lack of concern empathy and total disrespect of a customer who is Concerned about her furbaby after being injured by Enza the groomer. I understands it was accidental but nonetheless she clipped so close probably with old or un oiled blades causing his gentile is became raw and blistered. I called for empathy I expected to have a heart to heart with the owner the grooming cost 65.00 plus her tip and a vet bill I only wanted a small portion of vet bill since I had decided to get him a complete work up. In case the symptoms were due to another issue. Btw Coco Is very healthy . We are religious about his appointments and he has health insurance! However I expected the opportunity to ask for a refund. Coco is traumatized! Poor baby is miserable he has to wear a puppy diaper to keep him from the wound. However i am a fair and decent person so I didn't think they should have to pay for entire vet bill. But James became irrate defensive down right dismissive. I couldn't even get a word in. Have always brought my dogs for grooming their. Never ever complained about the prices going up with each visit. Never complained about the times the grooming was no so good just smiled and took it as it was. Many times had to call last min with a call back if things slow down and I'd go real quick and drop them off so they can get groomed and I can pay their forever increasing prices. All until today when I realized yesterday's voicemail about today's 930am appmnt and called them up cause I was 15 mins late. Every time I walk in this store I am greeted right away. If I can't find something, I'll ask and they help me right away. I have five guineapigs pigs and this store always has what I need. I don't understand the bad reviews on this place. My boyfriend and I stopped here just for kicks to look at dogs. With no intention on buying one. 3 hours later we walked out with a Yorkie, and $100 dollars in store credit. The staff is knowledgeable and personable. They are from the Pelham Bay and Country club areas who h is comforting. Kenny was great in educating us about the purchase of our first pup as well. Prices are great THIS ISN'T MANHATTAN. I recently purchased an Alaskan Klei kai from here and I am so happy! The staff was amazing, they were patient and kind with me and my two boys while I made my decision. Catherine and Sayret were so sweet during the paperwork process and recommended great products to take care of my new puppy! Where to even begin with this old "gem". For starters, just avoid this place all together. You can find ANYTHING in this store on Amazon for half the price , sometimes less. Horribly overpriced and taking advantage of the love owners have for their pets to pay their own rent. They have an aggressive cat that walks around the store freely hissing at customers (this place smells like fish tanks and cat piss). Got my yorkie hair cut there for $70, looked like I let my 5 year old cut my dogs hair. Never again.

I recently sent my father in law to have my beautiful Sheltie groomed. What resulted was the most horrific cut I have ever witnessed on my poor baby. This isn't the first cut at this location, in fact we have trusted them numerous times with our family dogs. This time I'm not sure if the groomer is new or just was having a bad day but my Sheltie has the equivalent of a military haircut. The allure of a Sheltie is its beautiful mane and fur, why on Earth would anyone do anything but trim it? Why would it be any different from any of her other cuts? What truly bothers me is the lack of professionalism when this was brought to their attention, zero accountability was taken. In fact my husband was then accused of incorrectly remembering her previous cuts. As if we are delirious and can't remember her beautiful fur. The groomer also insisted that the only time Sheltie's are left with a mane is when they are boys. That's the most ridiculous statement ever, considering how my dog has always had a full mane and simply gets a trim on her body with special attention to her bottom. In the grand scheme of things my dog is healthy but to disrespect a customer and then insult their memory and intelligence based on their lack of professionalism is ridiculous. Dogs are family members and to treat them like anything less is disrespectful. You wouldn't be okay with a botched cut for your child then don't do it to our four legged family members read more

They always have what we need for our dogs. We have a 6 year old pekengese mixed with shih-tzu and a 5 month old japillon. They have been grooming my older dog for years and always do a great job. They gave me some tips on what food to give my new puppy. One of us is slightly allergic to dogs, so they gave us some tips on how to reduce allergens and recommended puppy wipes. They were a bit expensive, but worth it. Very helpful staff. Always supply what we need and answer any questions I may have. read more

I usually drive to Woodlawn to get my dog groomed. (The place is national pet supply) But today usual place was closed. I decided to give this place a chance since it's closer to home. I called and the guy on the phone was super nice and accommodating, the only nice person there. When I arrived he directed me to the back and told me to knock on the door. When I did I saw three people in the shampoo area, none of them acknowledged me, even after turning around and seeing me. They continued to just stand there and talk. I said hello and was still ignored. I couldn't believe it. How can any business not value costumer service. It's takes 2 seconds to acknowledge your guest and tell them you will be with them in a moment. I don't care how long you have been open, if you treat your clients like this your business will gradually fail. I'd rather drive to the other side of the Bronx to see my regular groomer then go to a place just because they're closer. It's not even like it's enticing with a low price. It's the average cost and you get shitty client care. After then returning home and seeing all the horrible reviews about fleas and a dirty environment I am glad I didn't give them my money. I give this place 2 stars. I've worked at multiple doggy daycares in manhattan, I own my pet service and have 13 years experience in this industry. With that being said none of them smell the way this pet store does. Just by that odor I can tell the whole facility does not get the proper cleaning that it needs. Not sure of the grooming section of the facility. 20 years is a long time but that's what happens when there isn't any competition in the area.... you start to slack off. Clean this place up. Treat the customers with more respect then maybe you'll get better reviews. Plus owner is a liar. Plus you guys sell and feed your customers the basic materials just to make money. Like your pups. No information for dog trainer ,dog walker, etc. pups get older and then the owners don't know to really deal with a full grown dog who's tearing things up or being aggressive in any situation, or has separation anxiety, etc. you guys just think to small. The staff are unfriendly, I went in to buy a carrier for my cat. I asked where they were and my answer is "the back wall" so ok I went and looked. The place is very small and at no time did any of the 3 people working their asked me if they could help me get one down from the shelf. So I went over to the woman at the cashier and I asked about soft carriers instead of the hard plastic and she says well if you don't see it we don't sell it. Horrible customer service I left and went to Petland by westchester square where they brought me right to the carriers the soft one and got it down for me. read more
