    Bulk treat bar!
    Krysha M.

This Petco is kind of hidden in a plaza off of I69 and 96th street just East of the Walmart, but it is my go-to for all things for my furbabies. The staff here is SUPER friendly and I *love* that Petco is a Bully-friendly establishment so all 3 furkids can come with me. My favorite thing is their bulk treat bar where you can mix and match all kinds of different treats for like $4.49 a pound. I must mention that they have been getting A TON better at offering wheat free items on this bulk bar which makes me SO happy! I love the 'seasonal' treats they offer and of course the Hubs loves the Star Wars themed treats for the kids. Black Friday they even offered half-off the bulk bar and we stocked up! Petco offers a good variety of specialty dog foods as well. Our Rottie had severe allergies and this Petco carried foods he could tolerate at reasonable prices. Our kids LOVE the peanut butter filled knuckle bones here -- they are huge and only cost about 7 bucks each. Keep an eye out as they usually offer 20% off when you buy 3 or more. Lastly, if a toy does not hold up to extreme chewers (even when touted as so), falls apart, or if your pets just don't like it, they will take it back and refund your money -- no matter how chewed/worn it is. This policy is amazing given the life expectancy of toys in the Mac house. Thanks for that, Petco!

    Refillable cat litter

I really appreciate that Petco has bulk cat litter that you can refill into a container you already have- the signage indicates it needs to be a 16lb or 30lb container. While I have tended to buy pet supplies at a variety of places, I will be exclusively going here now to buy cat litter just so I'm not consuming so much plastic (even though we recycle). Great option to reduce waste associated with pet ownership!

They refused service for my dog because the rabies document was hand written by the vet.

Andrew spent an hour or two at the house, observing the dogs and talking to us about what we were hoping to accomplish relative to what he was seeing. Before leaving, he gave us a couple of simple things to work on prior to the start of our consecutive board-and-train sessions two weeks later. Frankie and Ellie are now back with us and while they still have enormous amounts of energy, their ability to respond to commands, walk with a loose leash (zero pulling) and maintain their "place" is incredible! Selective use of the e-collars has even allowed us to redirect their attention in the midst of their loudest, most raucous roughhousing episodes. We can't recommend Andrew enough. He has a way that brings about significant behavioral changes in the dogs while building the confidence of owners: it's amazing to witness the transformations. We are so grateful that we found Andrew and would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone looking to reconnect and improve their relationship with their dog(s)!

If you're looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cares about dogs,…read moreI highly recommend Joe at Ultimate Canine. We started with five in-home sessions when our Bernese Mountain Dog was five months old, then enrolled her in the two-week Stay & Train program at 7 1/2 months. The combination was exactly what we were looking for. The in-home sessions taught us how to work with our dog, and the Stay & Train helped her become reliable even in high-distraction environments. Our goal was a well-mannered giant-breed dog who would be enjoyable to live with, confident around people, and a pleasure to take anywhere. Joe helped us transform a puppy who liked to jump, play bite, and pull on the leash into a well-mannered dog with reliable obedience and excellent leash manners. A month after training, she's doing great, and the skills have held up because we continue practicing them at home. What impressed me most was Joe's approach. He genuinely loves dogs, and it shows. His training is kind, respectful, and fun, so she was always excited to work with him. He also took the time to explain why dogs behave the way they do and tailored the training to our specific goals and questions. During the Stay & Train, he proactively kept us updated on her progress, and even afterward he has remained available whenever we've needed guidance. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ultimate Canine to anyone looking for a trainer who truly invests in both dogs and their owners.

I enrolled my dog in Level 2 training but chose to withdraw due to ongoing concerns with both the…read moretraining approach and overall customer experience. During sessions, communication from the trainer was often abrupt and, at times, dismissive. Instructions would be overridden mid-process, with the trainer stepping in to physically take control of my dog instead of allowing me to complete the exercise. This created confusion for my dog and disrupted the trust and consistency I was trying to build. I noticed big regressions in my dog's behaviors who had already mastered simple behaviors but simply signed up for permission of the social part to allow my dog to take advantage of their play area which has also been condemned by others. While Camp Bow Wow owners, who are also the trainers, are sold on reintroducing known skills, i.e., "sit," with their incentive methods--such as hand signals that were not part of her original training--without a clear transition seemed to add to that confusion. The inconsistency between my handling and the trainer's approach made it difficult to reinforce anything effectively at home. There were moments that felt unnecessarily harsh. For example, when my dog was in heat, the situation was handled with urgency and comments that came across as unprofessional rather than constructive. Customer service was another issue. Phone interactions were often abrupt, including being placed on hold without explanation and occasionally met with argumentative responses. In person, there were instances where staff handled situations without clear communication--such as physically repositioning my dog without first asking--which could have been handled more respectfully. Overall, I expected a more collaborative and professional environment, especially for a training setting where consistency and trust are critical.
