Never felt so disrespected by employees before. Yesterday I was asking for help from this girl employee and she straight up said "I'm not going to talk to you ask her over there". Then proceeded to go on her phone. My hearts broken I fell in love with one of their animals and saw it before closing where the 2 employees REFUSED to let me get the animal with 0 reasoning. They closed up the store and I went home but today I woke up at 8:00 and was waiting outside of the store until they opened at 9:00 determined to get my dream animal. Walk into the store and it's gone. Very been so sad and disappointed. I'm confused how and why it's gone when they closed up as soon as I walked out and I was their first customer of the day. I talked to their boss and got 0 explanation just got told "Sorry for your experience" and that he can reach out when they stock back up in the animal I want. But that's not the point. I was refused service for NO REASON and extremely hurt and saddened by how they acted with me. I'm almost 100% convinced it had to do with racism. There was 2 white customers and the staff was helping them with a smile but when it came to me they refused to even speak to me and went immediately to their phone. I will never come back here again. I miss what I thought was going to be my baby (the animal) and now it's gone :(. read more

Went to Fishers from the south side, we are boarding our dogs in September, so we wanted to get them all done together. The check in girl was pleasant and you could tell she loved dogs. The vet assistant looked mean and wasn't very nice handling our dog, she let her rear back and almost flipped on her back, luckily she didn't fall backwards. The vet lady wasn't very friendly either. They did our one dog and said they couldn't do the 2nd one because she was trying to get away, they wouldn't let us help calm her and said she has a fever anyways (how did they get a temp if she wasn't cooperating). So we went to another place which was way closer, and everyone one was sooo friendly, they let us help and miraculously our dogs didn't have a fever-will never go to Vetco again. And Petco and Vetco should look into the vet and vet assistant for complaints, because I can't imagine we are the first ones complaining. The check out guy at the front of the store was very nice though. read more

Patty/Patricia is a poor excuse of a dog groomer and should find a different career & Rae the manager is a joke as well. We just took our dog to Petco this morning for her 8:30 appointment, she has been groomed at this location once before and then only through PetCo for the last 1.5 years before we moved to Indiana. Within 30 seconds of being in the door Patty waved her arms back & forth & said "no, she's too aggressive". She didn't try to pet her, give her a treat or even properly acknowledge her. My Goldendoodle is 1.5 and yes she will bark briefly but she was sitting on command and fine once we were there for a few more minutes talking to Rae, the manager. Their solution was to have her wait there for 4+ hours until another groomer came into work they would be more "comfortable" grooming our dog. If our dog was "so aggressive" wouldn't you not want any of your groomers to take care of her? An absolute joke and I wouldn't give them your business because they don't care about your time or their previous customers. It is very evident they just didn't want to groom a Goldendoodle. read more

After our grooming appointment at another facility was cancelled due to their groomer quitting, we were at a loss for when our two mini golden doodles would ever get groomed. This petco was extremely accommodating and was able to get our dogs in to be groomed within the week. The groomer followed direction on what we wanted for the dogs and came out looking adorable. The dogs smelled amazing, and they were both super clean. I truly appreciate their work! We will definitely be back. read more

We suggest anyone to avoid this pet store company nationwide as a whole and definitely the 96th street store which is near Fishers and Castleton Indiana off I-69 interstate near Indianapolis, Indiana. We had an eye opening experience after shopping the store on a very regular weekly shopping trip for several years to purchase pet supplies for our cats, fish and neighbors dog. We have relatives in another state who are employed with the company and after this experience we spoke to them for suggestions because they originally told us about petco that it was coming to our neighborhood and suggested we find and shop the store. We discovered the store very close and one that we travel pass on a daily basis to and from work and other activities. We shop in the same shopping center daily for groceries, gas and takeout food. It is the nearest pet store of all the other competitors in the area to us. The store has several competitors near us but we usually would even pay the higher price for convenience of the location and made trips weekly to buy litter and food. We have purchased a few aquatic pets and adopted a pet cat from the location. We often buy food supplies and medicines for our handicapped neighbor's dog on our trips to the store also. My sister also shops the store on a regular basis who has 3 dogs but will now head our advice and not shop the store again. We have many neighbors who walk their dogs past our house on the sidewalk a few times a day who are likely customers and we have already engaged a few of them to make them aware and suggested avoiding that store. Most are amazed someone in the store would treat us so ridiculously. Word travels fast these days. We will be sure to let others know our bad experience with this company as often as possible. The company totally ignored us and never returned any calls. We made several attempts by phone and spoke over a week with lower end CS from what seemed like a foreign phone bank not a real customer service intake call office. After the very first call we could tell that we probably would get no results but the agent insisted all would be fine and we would be contacted the very next day at a convenient time to us. This never happened after we made several calls back to the company. We were not looking for discounts or free stuff due to our issue but wanted the staff to be re-trained or given some customer service classes. At least an apology would have been nice but not once was an apology offered in any way at all. We were super nice and congenial with each person we spoke with but all the promises of call backs never took place. They kept telling us that a manager would have to investigate and then someone would contact us right away. The last time we spoke with the company they made it super clear to us that an email would be sent to our email address the very next day after they spoke with the store staff and management. Never happened. It's now been a month we have not heard back, no emails. We went online to see if there are other complaints and found many and discovered the company has been around a long time but has been sold and traded many times, had good times and bad. I think the company has forgotten they have true customers and that some of their customers are very regular shoppers. At this point our suggestion to petco would be get your CS together at your corporate office as there is none and replace the entire staff and management over this store at least. There are very good competitors in the area with better pricing and much better service so they now gain our shopping dollars. We went to a major competitor the same night after our experience and came home very happy after explaining what happened to us at petco to the clerk that helped us. The clerks jaw dropped when we explained to them what we went though at petco an hour earlier. We have made many purchases of accessories at the location and our home is filled with products purchased at the petco store everything from beds to water fountains and you name it we have many items. At this point I don't think there is any way petco could resolve this with us or turn it around. They dumped us and now we are dumping petco for good. We won't shop there again and suggest others avoid all of their locations. The company is not concerned about their customers for what ever reason. They have lost us and maybe a few other customers for good. As time permits we will extend this complaint to other consumer affairs websites of which there are many. It was really that bad! At this time we have left off the actual issue and complaint in order for petco to respond back to us properly in which case this complaint could be removed. This Petco is kind of hidden in a plaza off of I69 and 96th street just East of the Walmart, but it is my go-to for all things for my furbabies. The staff here is SUPER friendly and I *love* that Petco is a Bully-friendly establishment so all 3 furkids can come with me. My favorite thing is their bulk treat bar where you can mix and match all kinds of different treats for like $4.49 a pound. I must mention that they have been getting A TON better at offering wheat free items on this bulk bar which makes me SO happy! I love the 'seasonal' treats they offer and of course the Hubs loves the Star Wars themed treats for the kids. Black Friday they even offered half-off the bulk bar and we stocked up! Petco offers a good variety of specialty dog foods as well. Our Rottie had severe allergies and this Petco carried foods he could tolerate at reasonable prices. Our kids LOVE the peanut butter filled knuckle bones here -- they are huge and only cost about 7 bucks each. Keep an eye out as they usually offer 20% off when you buy 3 or more. Lastly, if a toy does not hold up to extreme chewers (even when touted as so), falls apart, or if your pets just don't like it, they will take it back and refund your money -- no matter how chewed/worn it is. I really appreciate that Petco has bulk cat litter that you can refill into a container you already have- the signage indicates it needs to be a 16lb or 30lb container. While I have tended to buy pet supplies at a variety of places, I will be exclusively going here now to buy cat litter just so I'm not consuming so much plastic (even though we recycle). So i booked an appointment for the next weekend (today) and i just want to say Kaylea D did an awesome job!!!!!!!! She had patience with my pup whom is 6 months old and a wiggle worm lbvs. When I went to pick him up and they brought him out to me my heart melted and i smiled from ear to ear! I stopped in here for the first time in a long time to grab a couple of Christmas items for our cat. I saw an item online (NOT through Petco advertising) that I was hoping they might carry. They didn't, but I found the other items on my shopping list. I'm quite impressed with the selection of cat food Petco offers. For the last several years, we've been purchasing it at our vet's office which isn't always convenient. So one of the reasons I walked into Petco was to do some quick research to see if I could find a comparable dry cat food and I did! As an added bonus, it's a slightly bigger bag and a smidgen less expensive! I'm looking forward to building some rewards points with them now that I'll be shopping there regularly again. read more

I generally like this place. They're well stocked and the employees are very friendly and helpful. But this store has an issue that needs addressed - This is the second time I've gone into the store to pick up several bags of cat litter and only one employee, an employee who says she has a bad back, but was willing to do it, is available to help me. After watching her attempt to help me but groan in pain, I refused to let her continue. I needed several bags and also needed them loaded into my car. The people here are not nice or helpful. I will never go back. You ask where something is, the people you ask aren't sure and won't help find it for you. Who's taking care of the saltwater tanks? Send them on their way. Went in tonight (2.11.16) and there were six dead fish in two tanks. Other fish- a beautiful Tang, infected with ICH, occupying a tank with other fish. I'd avoid any sort of aquatic purchases here. Poor little critters. They deserve so much better. read more

It pains me to write this review, because sometimes it comes down to one bad hire! In general, my wife and I have had great experiences with this Petco, particularly when having our precious dog's nails trimmed. Today, on October 5th, 2018, my wife took our puppy in to get her nails trimmed and was turned away. She called in advance to ask if they could trim the nails even though today was the official expiration date of the rabies shot. She was told "yes" by a kind associate after confirming with a managers. So, she made the trip over there expecting to get the service. Unfortunately, my wife was greeted by two completely different associates. One was kind and welcoming (like we all expect customer service to be), the other's first act was to complain about "how annoying" a dog she was tending to in the back was. Then, my always polite wife asked about getting her puppy's nails trimmed as confirmed in the phone call. Not only was she turned away, the woman with zero EQ or customer service skills did it rudely. The staff there has generally been good, but management needs to take a close look at who they have tending to the "furry family members" that pet owners entrust to them. Some people have no business around animals (or people), and need to confine their poor attitudes and self-loathing to a cubicle and computer screen. My wife would not want me to write this review, but I have grown grossly tired of horrific customer service and will vocalize it every chance I get. We are taking our business elsewhere! read more

I WAS REFUSED GROOMING SERVICES BY THE EMPLOYEES OF THE PETCO STORE LOCATED AT 864 E. 96TH ST IN FISHERS,IN. Kiana at the desk at the empty grooming center (no other customers, no other pets) first turned away my 10 month pit bull mix because she said she needed the paper hard copy of the rabies vaccination, the tag was not enough. I left and returned in less than 10 minutes with my rescue dog's vaccination records provided by the rescue he was adopted from. After a brief look at my dog's records she refused to serve us because the records was handwritten from the University of Tennessee veterinary school. I spoke with Taylor, the supervisor on duty that day at the also empty store, who repeated the ridiculous store policy of no handwritten records and she suggested I call the place and ask for a non hand written record to be sent to them. The phone number was clearly written on the vaccination record. PETCO was the one who insisted on a "typed" record and they should be the one calling to get what they insist I provide them. I gave them what I was provide, which our vet had no problem with at all. I spent over $200 a month at that store, but never again! Taylor and Kiana and the absent store manager are clear indicators why your store is empty on a Saturday morning. read more
