Well, the joy of having pets has an emotional price because they generally die before we do. Our…read moreto be last cat was in agony, having trouble moving, couldn't eat was miserable. She was over 20 years old and it was time to send her along to the big cat heaven in the sky. Everyone here was pleasant and very kind. They took her into another room to insert a stent in her arm and then brought her back to our room. The cat was relaxed and looking at us sitting there, and it was clear that she must have known what was going to happen. The injection was done and she was immediately out. The vet took pulse and heart rates three separate times and it was certain that she was gone. Nicely done. We paid the $259.87 and left to bury the cat.

Dr. Kundla saw us quickly, ran the necessary tests, and X-rays diagnosing a foreign object blockage. Dr. Kundla was very kind and informative regarding surgery, possible outcome and cost. We went home to discuss and returned Monday morning with the intent to euthanize when we again discussed pros and cons. Dr. Kundla referred us to Shiland Animal Hospital in Rock Hill for surgery giving us a little more hope. We are so thankful for the referral because it changed our minds and we now have our sweet kitty recovering, doing well and hopefully have her for many years to come. The staff and Dr. Kundla could not have been kinder or more helpful. Totally recommend this practice.

After picking up our four legged family member we communicated that we were not pleased with the cut and the multiple requested services that were either forgotten and/or not completed fully and boy did things go downhill from there. It is a sign of poor customer service and lack of compassion and empathy in my opinion when you bring an issue about the service to someone's attention and are met with excuses and invalidating statements such as "All my customers love me", "I have never had a complaint", "You can ask anyone and they all have great things to say about me", "I am the most (fill in the blank) person you will ever meet", "I feel like you are the type of person who just complains about everything" and "I have been doing this for 20 years, so I know what I am doing", as these statements reek of defensiveness and rationalization, rather than simply acknowledging the issues, apologizing and vowing to do better moving forward. The former results in a negative experience and a lost customer, while the latter results in a second chance. Unfortunately this place lacks not only basic customer service skills, but comes off with a condescending and dismissive attitude that I would not want myself nor my pet to be around, because if that is how someone comes off in my presence, I don't want to imagine how that might act when I am not around, especially when their job is supposed to involve compassion, understanding and patience. Yes, we should support small businesses, and yes times are tough due to Covid, but no that does not mean we should settle for "less than" as basic manners don't get a pass just because of the times, as they should be a value that we carry with us at all times, because adversity doesn't just test character, it reveals it.

She's a rescue, and very nervous and scared of almost everything, so I was really hesitant. From the moment I called to book an appointment, to when I picked her up, the staff was so kind. As expected, she didn't cooperate very well, but instead of the staff making me feel guilty or shaming my dog, they nicely recommended I talk to my vet about a calming medication to help with the next appointment. Thank you Amanda, and the front desk staff!

Absolutely Horrible Experience. Do Not Take Your Dog Here!…read more We took our puppy to Modern Pet Salon for the first time because we heard they use scissors instead of clippers, which we thought would be gentler. It turned out to be a terrible mistake. We specifically asked them multiple times not to cut too much of her hair, especially since she doesn't like it, but they insisted she had too many tangles and needed a full trim. Not only did they ignore our request, but they cut our puppy twice, both on her ears--areas where there was no tangled hair at all. They even called us during the appointment to say she was bleeding. Later, they claimed it was because she had an ear hematoma and that they had just trimmed it. That was a complete lie. We took her to the vet, who confirmed that the injury was a fresh cut from grooming and not from any medical condition. She did not have a hematoma. They hurt her, and then tried to cover it up. They also asked us to use an old sock to cover the wound, which felt incredibly unprofessional and careless. Since then, our puppy has been extremely uncomfortable. She keeps shaking her head, clearly bothered by her ears, and she has been very sad and withdrawn. This is the first and only time something like this has ever happened to her. I'm beyond disappointed. Not only should they have never charged us for this awful experience, but they should not be handling dogs, especially sensitive breeds like doodles, if they can't do so safely and honestly. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Please protect your pet and take them somewhere else.
