My dogs last groom was absolutely AWFUL! Horrible. This is the 2nd time they have nicked my dog. This time near the genitals which they didn't tell me about either time. It got infected and now he's in a cone for at least a week, AGAIN. His ears have weird dry crust in them and bothers him all day now. (Doing my best to clean them). When I called and left a voicemail, no one called me back. Also, one time he was brought out to me, for whatever reason they allowed the lady to carry him to me & she dropped him right before handing him to me. Just a completely careless establishment. They always seem to have a lot of dogs in & maybe not a lot of staff so they rush through and make many mistakes. 0/10 recommend. read more

Modern Pet has done both of my dogs now and we are so happy with the experience of our pets, the price, and their grooming! It's very reasonable in Charlotte and the customer service and friendliness is excellent. I am so glad we live only 5 minutes from this location. They also have a grooming specialist that works exclusively with older, grumpy, and biting dogs that have a harder time being relaxed at the groomer. We took our doodle to this salon location and the welcome from the front staff was GREAT. I shared that a pet sitter would be picking him up but to call me as I want to know how he did his first time being groomed here. They confirmed my number, I pre-paid and left. I didn't share the name of the sitter as I would have done that when they called to say he was ready. The sitter called me 3 hours later to say she has my dog. She goes on to say she went to avoid traffic and asked how much longer for Reese. They gave her a dog with pink bows and she replied Reese is a boy and the front desk replied oh sometimes the groomer just does that. The sitter took this dog with pink bows and got in her car (noticed she didn't have a penis) before taking the dog back inside to say this was not Reese. They took this dog back and gave her my dog. However they didn't have any record of what my sitters name was so they did not verify that she was in fact there to take my dog. I never received a call which I asked for when he was done. The owner apologized but this sitter could have made off with someone else's dog! We cannot return and I would caution everyone to beware! I'm furious! I love my dog and to think someone took him without being verified is so incredibly scary! I guess if I had not paid at drop off and she needed to pay, they would have then called me.....but does that ensure your dog would go to the correct person? read more

At a March appointment, they cut my dog Niko and didn't even tell me about it when I picked him up. Gave them a second chance today and completely unprofessional. **Update after seeing your response. We absolutely were not told he was injured at pick up. We have the text message string of the apology for not telling us at pick up about injury and the recording of the call to alert you of the injury after pick up. As for being rude at CHECK IN for today's appointment let's pull the tapes from your lobby camera and you will see that your manager who checked us in, was the rude one and very short with us. I informed the owner of this during pick-up.(she seemed put out by this information and said her manager was there for 5 years.) Yes my wife and I were upset at PICK UP, because we tried to call your establishment and couldn't get through, because of a busy signal for over 30min and it took you way to long to bring us our family members out when we asked for them. I requested a different groomer as the previous cut was not done well at all. Unfortunately Although I made this request clear the same groomer was used and although it was improved it was still very sloppy. The manager did not care and simply suggested we try somewhere else which obviously is the right choice. The employee who made the appointment should have honored my request and scheduled with the alternate groomer and the managers inability to see that is exactly why I will do just that and seek a new salon. Update- actually at no point ever was the poor cut blamed on the lack of bath. The first time or the second. I did receive a call on the second one asking if I wanted to her to have a bath but it was not suggested or explained at any point that you would require it. Modern Pet Salon in Weddington has the best groomers! Normally, Kelsey grooms my shih tzu, but due to a conflict, I had the pleasure of meeting Alayna. She did an amazing job and my dog looks so handsome. Not only did she do a great job, she was ahead of schedule. I always book the "express" which is $10 more & very much worth it - your dog is done in 1.5 hrs versus 4. My daughter's dog an ALD is groomed by Alexas who is an expert doodle groomer - she's phenomenal. MPS makes our pets look handsome all year long! PS you need to book early because they book up quickly! read more

If you want your dog to be treated terribly and you want a very uneducated, trashy, extremely unprofessional groomer then I would suggest this place. They took my dog out of my family members hand and started screaming at her, demanding she needed to speak to me. My niece was in absolute shock that this girl apparently named Alexas started screaming at her after taking my dog. In doing the right thing, my niece said please give me back the dog - don't worry about it and this classless girl refused to give her back. I'm in shock and should have called the police! The girl had no right scaring my dog and no right screaming at my niece. Note to the wanna be something Alexas if you don't want to service someone the only thing that needs to be done is just refuse service. Business 101 but obviously you know nothing about that and wouldn't be surprised if you even went to school. PS : to the owner, you're not going to have any business if you keep letting your Sister in law run your business to the ground. read more
