Just have to say that I love the general manager, Francesca and her team at the Petco in Larchmont. The animals, fish and reptiles always seem happy and they're always in good shape compared to other Petco's that I've been to in Westchester County. The employees always recognize me and my family and greet us with a big smile on their face. I've gotten a chance to know them from the various visits I pay to the store on a weekly basis lol ,and they are wonderful people. The store always seems clean and the fish tanks are always spotless, which is the primary reason I go there besides buying cat food. I wish this team and their general manager Francesca all the success they deserve. I truly hope if there is a district manager that he or she reads this! read more

The cashier was super rude. After I paid for the bird seed, she extended the receipt toward me, staring only at the receipt and then looked away indifferently. It seemed as though "helping" me was truly disturbing her. There was only one person waiting in line behind me. The place was not very busy with customers. There is a friendlier pet store closer to where we live, but they don't have the bird seed we need. read more

This particular petco in Larchmont has it all for your dog and cat from food , toys , accessories and more along with items for other pets as well. I always like to check out the different fish tanks but not bold enough to get a tank and fish for my apt yet .Got some dog food , got a few toys , new harness and leash and checkout was a breeze . I usually order online which is a little cheaper but sometimes the doggy can't wait and that's ok . Petco in Larchmont gets 4 stars on my yelp meter. read more

I tried to return food that I had just opened. The food made my dog violently ill and had to go overnight to a hospital which I showed the receipt of to the cashier. To my surprise Petco would not issue a refund because I didn't have the label for the food. I am a Vital care member with all my information and purchases on file but that wasn't enough. There was absolutely no concern shown for my pet and was told to have a "nice day" but n an extremely sarcastic way when I left the food on the counter for her to dispose of. Needless to say I have cancelled my Vital Care membership and will never return to Petco in Larchmont. The least a company called 'Pet'co could have shown the tiniest amount of concern for my pet. read more

I had a very bad experience in the groomer. They moved my appointment and I didn't realize because I had a very busy day. When I was on my way I realized about that they moved my appointment 2 hours before my schedule. At the time of my appointment they didn't have spot for my dog because they did what they want. After that I schedule an a new appointment online and they canceled it. What a professional are them? Never happened that in others petco. Customer service was just disappointing. Scheduled an appointment for my dogs grooming for 12:00pm. Got there early and the groomer wasn't even ready for my appointment. They asked all the questions about how my dog behaves during the bathing and never asked or said anything about his crating manners. 30 mins later I get a call talking about they can't do the grooming because he keeps getting out the crate and barking etc... imagine charging someone $141.00 to Bathe and Groom their dog but you're complaining and claiming you cannot do the job because the dog is not behaving in the crate. To top it off, when I went to get my dog the lady talking about I can reschedule his appointment... if you couldn't do the job today what in the world makes you think you can do it another day. Then ends the conversation with well you should do training. The complete lack of proper customer service is just disgusting & Petco will forever lose my business. I brought my dog here for a trim. I specifically said do not shave her I just want a haircut. The groomer informed us she was matted by her neck, but would keep as much fur as possible. I told her ok but do not shave her and she agreed. When I came to get my puppy, she was completely unrecognizable. She was shaved down everywhere including her paws. She was only matted in one area and the groomer was clearly extremely lazy and just decided to shave my dog and be done with her. I will NEVER come back here. They are claiming she was "matted" so she had to be shaved, but we had told the groomer 6 times do NOT shave my dog. If she had said that's impossible I wouldn't have left her there. Horrible customer service. The "groomers" clearly do not care what the dogs come out looking like as long as they get the job done quickly. Disgusted at this place. read more

We first came here on the day we (unexpectedly) adopted a puppy and Petco has everything we needed to start off. The salespeople are really knowledgeable and clearly love animals. Only one or two of the toys they recommended to us that we got were misses, but most were absolute hits. I've since ordered items to pick up at the store and an item to be delivered to the home and all worked well. I just returned from bringing my Cavalier to Petco in Larchmont. My pet, Lola was in a great deal of discomfort from a swollen inflamed paw. The care we got from the manager Paula was incredible. Sales people are great and I would give them 5 stars. Groomers added a spa service on that I didn't ask for. When I questioned them on the $20 extra fee and what it was for the groomer wasn't sure. Told me I should of clarify that I didn't want the added service but I was never asked when making the appointment. In fact I asked if shampooing was part of the grooming service and she told me it was. That would of been a perfect time for them to up sell me. I asked her to remove the charge but instead she charged me for a service at a lesser fee($7). Looking back I should of never agreed to pay the $7 or even give them a $10 tip. My dogs cut was uneven and sloppy and had to clean him up at home. Also addressed it but the whole thing was off putting I just wanted to get out of there. In conclusion I'll never bring my dog in for grooming and pay the extra money somewhere else. The sales ppl are great and I'll be back only to get supples and food. read more

I am not one to complain about places like this at all. This Petco location by far has the worst and rudest grooming staff on hand. Specifically a groomer named Jennifer B. She refused to take care of my Yorkie who is close to 13 years old and stated that because his tongue stood out, no more than 1-2 cm that he was a hazard. We have been going to other Petco locations for years and have never come across such ridiculous behavior from a staff member. She then proceeded to say that she was inexperienced, and a new groomer. She also continued to state that she had a previous accident with another dog's tongue. She claimed that my dog had matted hair, which HE DOES NOT, so she ran her fingers through his hair and could not find one knot, because my Yorkies hair is silky smooth. While I understand that people are new at one point or another in their jobs, why would you let an inexperienced worker be taking care of any dog on their own, without supervision? Shame on you Petco, for allowing this level of incompetence to represent your business. There was another groomer as well working with her, who's name I did not get but she was just as unhelpful, and even more snarky then the other, with her under the breath comments. I would honestly prefer to give a rating of 0, but since that is not possible I will give this store a 1. read more

Either the groomer does not know how to do the job or is trying to upsell. We have two Maltese that go to Petcos regularly. They were bathed and trimmed a month ago and bathed once since and they are cut short. They have no mats but need a bath and brushing. The groomer said she would not just bath them and showed me a pea size mat on one paw. She said we would have to have them cut. We are headed to Colorado and colder weather so don't want them shaved. I asked just for the baths and cleaning up their faces and paws and she refused. No problem. The Larchmont location has lost another customer. We do NOT recommend. There are plenty of other groomers in the area that do a better job and dont play games. read more

I've never been more disturbed than I was waiting in line at petco today to pay. As I looked through the window of the grooming station a poor Yorkshire terrier was terrified in the way a groomer was handing him. She picked him up by the scruff of the neck, was so rough because he was barking and retaliating out of fear. I don't believe you should allow a dog of any size to resume control in any situation. I'm an owner of 2 dogs and very firm but have never treated them so badly. I would never use any Petco to groom my dogs after witnessing this. read more

If you love your pets, do NOT take them to the Groomers at this Petco. The groomer " heavy set lady" cut the tip of the tongue off My 6 pound Yorkshire terrier!!!! I specifically told her that he has a tendency to hang his tongue out of his mouth. I expressed to her that she must be mindful of his tongue when cutting the hair around his face. When I arrived to pick him up he was bleeding profusely!!!! A clean slice taken off. Poor baby was so scared and shaking. The groomer actually handled the situation as if this is a normal thing. She was smiling and stated " his tongue just darted out"!! She also put the blame on me. She said you wanted your dog back by 1 pm. You wanted me to rush his job! Can you believe that? You cut the poor dogs tongue and it's the owners fault? Where do they get these people? Ofcourse, I did not have to pay for the horrible hair cut he received but they didn't even get me in contact with veterinarian that would be open on a Sunday. I had to google search and call animal hospitals myself as my poor dog was bleeding in my lap. I will never support any petco again for supply or grooming. Don't use grooming here. It's about getting as many dogs in and out as fast as possible and upselling as much as possible. I couldn't care less what my dog looks like I love him for him, but they go back and forth at this contradicting themselves. Example dropped off at 1pm told groomer I am at work in new Rochelle can not pick up until a little after 5. No problem she says. Calls me at 4 saying he's ready I said yes ok I'll be there straight from work she says oh yea that's right ok no problem. On my way there at 5:10 she calls again saying where are you we are closing (actually the sign says salon closes at 6) and that there is a 3 hour limit when a dog is brought in for grooming. This was the same woman I was speaking to each time all day and I get there and she tells me her manager was on her case about why my dog was still there (her name tag says "grooming manager"). I said I told you I could come right after work when I get off. She said nope you never said that I didn't know I called you at 4 you said you'd be here soon an hour went by we almost called the ASPCA on you. Yeah you're a flake and f**k you lady and your "we are very health conscious here at Petco" monologue...we are very health conscious here at Petco and your dog was in distressed because you just left him here like this was a babysitter or something.
