Pretty awful experience getting my dog's rabies shot. I called a day before. Called the morning of to make sure they were prepared for my very "anxious being around other dogs because she was attacked and nearly died" dog. I arrived 10 minutes early and instead of being greeted and my dog being put in a cart as promised, we were never greeted and just sat until I was able after two attempts to get someone's attention to check me in. We waited almost 20 agonizing minutes while my dog was in utter anxiety with the other dogs waiting. Aloof and tone deaf staff. The actual shot experience was quick and fine but overall...terrible. I will find a more caring and conscientious company. read more

She replied, "well 'I' didn't schedule them." She then took the customer who arrived AFTER me rather than check me in. The groomers and manager, Esperanza, have a vague and misguided understanding of the corporate policy about grooming dogs that have had recent medical issues. The policy states dogs that are currenly under medication should be groomed at the vet. My dog stopped taking pain meds two months ago and had been pain free since. Yet, they had to hear from the prescribing doctor, VCA was not enough, on a phone call. They called the doctor, while I am cooling my heals. Wasted two hours of my day and were just plain "too bad" about it. Go anywhere else. read more

This Petco has always been outstanding when it comes to customer service. Tatiana was being pulled in every direction by customer but she kept professional the entire time. Very admirable. She helped us to locate the milk for kittens. Explained to us which ones to purchase and how often to feed them. We also enjoyed the adoption volunteer named Bella. She is one that is cut out for the job. She has patience and she gets to know each cat and their individual personality Gee Gee out cashier was so awesome. She goes far and beyond for her customers. When I get to the register I ask the cashier, if he could check if this is buy one get one 50% off, he replied -how do you want me to know, it doesn't say anything in the package. I had the best time at this store. Ethan is the best! I'd never had a dog but went in to purchase some Christmas gifts for my boyfriend's puppies. I had no idea what I was doing but none of that mattered because Ethan was on the scene. I gave him some ideas of what I had in mind. I let him know that nothing is too good for our pups and he helped me so much. Not only did he really listen and make great suggestions, he educated me quite a bit too. He even helped me pick something out for calming one of the puppies down for grooming because she experiences anxiety. I don't know what I would have done without Ethan that day. If I could give these people less than one star I would. Henry my puppy (yorkie-pooh) that is 4lbs evidently doesn't like the ladies in the grooming to clip his nails. The first time he went all was well. The second time - I do not know what happened - but that is when I was told he (Henry) was difficult and that he didn't let them cut his nails. The following month - I got the same report. Henry lets me do whatever I want to him (touch his hears, paws, brush him, and whatever). I thought - well - he is little and he will get used to them. Then the following month came and the same ladies and the same story - so now I started to think that maybe something happened and Henry holds a grudge and now the minute he sees the ladies he doesn't want them to touch him.... keep in mind he is a 4lb puppy. So- at their invitation for Henry not to come back - I haven't taken him back. And because of that I have just stopped shopping there all together. But I noticed that they continue to charge my credit card this odd amount of $21.80 - I didn't know what it was for.... and because I am busy - I didn't call. This month I finally called - because its very annoying to be charge for something every single month for something that I do not know what it is and by a store that Henry was invited to not come back and therefore a store I do not shop at. I WASTED almost one hour just getting to the right person to agree to cancel this continuous charge. He also said that they would go ahead and refund me 2 months. We talked about how this was not right and he said that he would make a request for an exception to be made and for me to get a refund for this money (apparently its a subscription that I didn't realized that they had set-me up with) - since Henry had been invited to not come back and it was obvious that I wasn't shopping there any longer. Although I was annoyed that this had taken an hour.... I was ok with it for I was trusting that perhaps next month when I look at my statement - I will no longer see that charge but I will also see a credit for some of what they have erroneously been charging me. UNTIL a few minutes ago when a lady from Petco called - during my work hours to take even more of my time to say that she apologyzed but that she is only refunding 2 months and wanted my permission to refund me. What?? That is just crazy to me . Then I go on to tell her that I had requested a refund and she just goes on and on and on as to explain to me on how she is "doing me a favor" to cancel this subscription. Ufff!!! Yeah! :( So - anyways..... the moral/warning of this story...... BE VERY CAREFULL as to not let Petco sign-you-up to whatever they are wanting to sign-you up. DOG OWNERS BEWARE! I WOULD AVOID THIS LOCATION! My husband and I took my pup here for grooming. At the time of pick up, we got a call warning that she somehow injured her nose and it was bleeding. Sophia A., the groomer, attributed it to a scab maybe coming off. Our pup had no scabs when we took her in. When we arrived, we observed a new injury on her nose. We did not make a fuss and accepted this may have been an accident, though we were concerned. A few days later, we spoke to a manager, Vanessa V., in person. She claimed the injury was not reported to management, but that it should have been, as any injury triggers a pet to be sent to the vet. Vanessa referenced documentation by the groomers, and we asked for a copy of such documentation. Vanessa said no, and we would need a subpoena. To make matters more concerning, when we spoke to the manager, our pup was present, and was trembling once we entered the grooming area. We cannot say exactly what took place, but are dismayed by the mishandling of our loved one, and disappointed by the response of both Sophia and Vanessa. We will never return to this location, and I would caution others as well. Our pups and other pets deserve far better, and so do we. read more

Came to pick up flea and tick medication for my dog. Our appointment was at 4:05 so we checked in early like 10-15min. We didn't get seen until 4:33pm. The vet just put her on the table and back down, took less than 4min. She then gave my boyfriend the receipt to go pay for the medication and then we went back with the receipt so they could give us the medication. Overall it was ridiculously time consuming when the actual "appointment" lasted less than five minutes. I asked one of the attendants how long it normally takes for pups to get seen just to pick up medication and they said it depends on how many dogs are in front. So then what is the appointment for??? Appointments are meant to organize time and allow for everything to flow better, yet here it was pointless. Not coming back to this clinic. read more

Walked in and thought it strange that the fish tank lights were off 30 minutes before closing, but excited to see they had about $100 worth of tetras in stock that I wanted to add to my 75 gallon. 10 minutes goes by, no help. I get it, he's with another customer. I'll wait. Finally! Yayyy!... Associate: "Sorry ma'am, fish section is closed for the night." Me: "Are the fish always closed 30 minutes early??" Associate: "Yeahhh well it got busy so we closed it." There were literally 5 people in the entire store. It's not like I walked in 2 minutes before doors close asking for 30+ fish. And even if I did I would expect that 1) there are enough employees to handle customer requests so that they don't have to stay too much later after closing and 2) it's a business there to make money. I'm willing to spend said money. By closing 30 minutes early you just lost that business a $100 sale and 3) as a regular customer who spends money there every week, you'd think customer service might make an exception especially since I'm not asking for something outside of store policy. I'm giving this location one star for the sole reason that Luis the employee working there tonight is beyond unprofessional. Not only did they turn off the doors function from being able to open five minutes early, but Esme & Luis saw me standing there trying to get in both doors waiving my arms in front of the sensors. So please corporate leadership Petco whoever watch their surveillance. Then when Luis finally decided to unlock the door, he made some Snyder Mark about how they're closing when he already closed it by locking the doors. If you watch the video surveillance, you will see me literally take no more than 30 seconds to get from the front door to the JustFoodForDogs refrigerator grab two packets of food & get back to the register. And you'll see on camera when I'm standing there. I ask which registers open because they're talking to each other. Not even like acknowledging. I'm standing there. Then Esme proceeds to ring Luis up for something $15-ish. Then Esme rung me up after Luis [the petco employee] which I could've cared less about, except for the fact that they lock the doors early before closing, and he made the Snyder mark after making me wait to even get in waving my arms around the sensors and completely ignoring me when I'm standing at the register waiting to get rung up and if they're in such a rush to close, there's two registers I don't know why Esme couldn't run me up on one and Lui run himself up on the other. Then Luis of course, had to unlock the door to let me out because after the time I waited for him to be rung up he was now after 7 PM and then he said good night. I ignored him after Rudy was then he slammed the door so hard which you can see on the surveillance if you guys have audio. I wouldn't be shocked if he cracked or broke that door with how hard he slammed it. read more

This store provides no service. I can detail the entire series of poor decisions made in the store regarding grooming, one of my two dogs, but why bore you. Let me cut to the chase. If you look at my profile, I'm an active reviewer, and I try not to get bad reviews. This store has earned it, and especially the manager, Vanessa and her grooming team. Imagine, a 15 minute grace period, which they never mention to you, and I arrive 20 minutes late. Why? Well, my dog had to per and the front desk people wanted to play with the dog for a couple of minutes. I told them it was a bad business decision to turn me away after I come the third time in three days to care for my two sofas. Again, I'm a long time customer of the store on two dogs. This is one of the only full-service pet stores in the area; and this is a good/bad thing. Let's start with the positive. First off, the staff here is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, & friendly. Most of the staff here are multiple pet owners & have a lot of real-world experience under their belts; and what's better than that? Second, the store is extremely clean & tidy; yes even the bathrooms. The animals look generally very healthy considering their origins are questionable. The cages are well-kept, clean, and they even have adoptable cats on the premises. (But you have to fill out an application, which can take a few days to be approved.) Third; the prices on the essentials are very reasonable; always a sale going on. The pet carriers on the other hand are all top-dollar; hello LAX I guess. There is also a large vitamin selection and in-store grooming salon. Talk about all-in-one stop. The only negatives would be sometimes the stock is a little inconsistent; and the prices as I mentioned on the non-essentials are quite high. Other than that, this is my place of choice for whatever furry, fluffy, or slippery animal I have to tend for that day. read more

Where do I begin!?! The folks at this location are AMAZING! I just adopted my fur baby Boxer mix rescue, Mia and I did not have my apartment set up for her since her adoption was immediate. Scrambling at the last minute, I rushed over to Petco with Mia almost in tears and overwhelmed. The assistants there guided me through the process of setting me and Mia up on their rewards program along with the necessary items for Mia's day to day supplies. They didn't up sell me on BS nor did they rush me. They literally grabbed a shopping cart and guided me through the aisles with great patience. They introduced me to their in-store trainer, Julie, who took the time to sit down with me and Mia for a consultation.
