A woman named Tay told me very rudely that she did not have any crickets in the front and could not leave the front desk to go get them. She told me that no one could help me due to limited staff. Petco on brooks seems to be struggling but I've always found what I was looking for and they have good sales.

I have filed multiple complaints about the animal neglect that has been occurring at the Petco Missoula location. The store manager Rich NEEDS to be replaced and charged with animal abuse!!! I go into Petco on a weekly basis and every week I check on the reptiles and ferrets. Majority of the reptiles are always in poor condition, their temperatures and humidity levels are not where they should be at, and the ferrets are sitting a disgusting crap, where people are being charged hundreds of dollars for a ferret that looks like they upper respiratory illnesses. As of yesterday 11/17/23, I went into petco and ended up rescuing the Black and White Argentina Tegu that I had been noticing hadn't been doing well for a couple of months. He was marked down because he had been sitting for so long. My concern that I shared with someone in the store was, he didn't look well, he has bad MBD, extremely malnourished, and very lethargic. The store person agreed that they were also very worried about him. I asked if they had taken him to the vet, she said no. I decided to try and rescue him and see what I could do. We got him home and settled, he didn't even make it 6 hours! This store location NEEDS to be held accountable for the neglect and animals abuse! This was inexcusable actions! This a continous problem at this location and corporate DOES NOTHING to keep this in check nor do they hold to THEIR OWN POLICIES AND ANIMAL RIGHTS STANDARDS!!! ANIMAL ABUSE! read more

My recommendation is solely based an employee, Tai. Tai had exceptional knowledge about Betta fish (Chinese fighting fish). I was really impressed w/ her & PetCo is lucky to have such a dedicated employee. I don't recommend their aquariums or fish accessories because they are way over priced & can be found much cheaper at Walmart & Ebay. read more

Too bad there is not a -5! So I went into the store to refill my empty bucket (which I had purchased at Petco a couple of years ago) with litter from the open sandbox - like I have done for quite some time. I left the full bucket to pick up a few other items and was literally accosted by this guy (who acted like he was in charge) telling me that if the General Manager saw that I refilled a bucket with a yellow lid vs. the green lidded bucket I'd be in trouble implying that I had bought the bucket somewhere else and was doing something improper. He said he didn't want this to be a big deal and that he'd let me do it this time but no more. I told him that I had bought the bucket at the store - no use. I told him that maybe they had changed bucket lids in the recent past - nope, they always had green lids. I asked him to look up my rewards account and check my purchase history - nope. Instead " if my GM sees this he won't allow it and you'd be in trouble" over and over again. I asked to see the GM but was told he was out for the weekend (today is Wednesday). So I dumped the precious litter back into the sandbox, left the other items I had picked up, and stormed out because I was furious to have been accused by some jerk (to avoid a harsher term) of cheating on litter - of all things. Next I tried to look up my account at home to check my purchase history. The webpage is telling me that my account (with my email as userid) does not exist even though I get monthly reward statements emailed to me and customer survey forms every time I have visited the store before. Corporate America at its finest. I sure hope they treat their animals better than their customers. Luckily there is a Petsmart store in town and so I will be taking my business there. The repeat delivery program is a scam! We have been faithful customers of Petco repeat delivery program for over 5 years! For the last 2 months they have chosen to cancel our order in favor of sending our bags of food to new customers. No doubt in hopes of snaring new fools to replace those of us who have wised up about their repugnant marketing strategy. But read more, their quality control is horrible. I come.here all the time to get my dogs pet food...because it's conveniently located next to work. The people seem friendly enough but sometimes I have a tough time getting answers (confident answers from the staff...if that makes sense). Sometimes I feel they dismiss me to easily. A girl names Tori helped me to return something. I was mentioning what was wrong with it (not in a complaining manner but rather as if to say it's a bummer it didn't work). She proceeded to say "its all my fault - Ill call the company right away, Im just a dog trainer so I really don't care." Haha. I was shocked. I told her I wasn't complaining in that way but rather just mentioning what was wrong with the item, so didn't mean to make her feel defensive." I was trying to be kind. She heard none of it and said "do you want me to call my manager up here?" I said "no - I don't have a complaint." Continuing to be in her own world she began to sound like a robot with something I did not understand that sounded like she was just angry under her breathe. Try to have nice people working at the counter who know how to work with humans. If all she is good at is human/animal relations maybe keep her in that area as we should all pull on our strengths. I've called here a handful of times with questions and no one has ever answered the phone. I always have the intent to give them my business but how can I if I'm unsure if they have what it is I am after. Also, they do not carry feeder mice for my Rosy Boa. I can honestly say that when I found out we were getting a Petco I didn't think it was necessary. But after going there I absolutely love it. The store has the feeling of a smaller pet store. In the front of the store they have dog cookies which I found out are very much like our cookies but with less sugar. My dogs Love them. I couldn't get to the store until a little while after the notification, but figured it was fine because the hours show being open until 8 and it wasn't even 5 when I got there and I didn't receive a call! when I arrived, no employee was in the grooming section of the store, and my dog was ALONE in the "stop employees only" portion of the room. I love Petco and will always be a customer however, I've been highly dissatisfied with the Petco in Missoula. They are ALWAYS out of stock. Boxes are cluttered all over the store. If you ask an associate for help to find something, they tell you to look yourself and if it isn't on the shelf - they don't have it. This place is great! The staff and ESPECIALLY the manager tonight were incredibly helpful and kind. I promise to do all my shopping here because of how understanding they were when I returned a bed. Grooming is GREAT, go see Lindsey. She is the only groomer I will trust with my old english mix, she listens to what I want and does a great job every time. I ask for an unusual cut to try and keep my girl natural looking and she does wonders, LOVE LINDSEY. The store however gets a 1 star, I shop there because of location... Only reason. We have always shopped and had our dogs groomed at the Missoula Petco because it is conveniently located near our home. Food, toys, haircuts, stuff we really don't need (according to my husband, .... LOL We will not be back! Customer service has declined drastically. Groomers have cancelled without even calling to cancel and or reschedule. We are cancelling our scheduled deliveries and will shop elsewhere in the future for our three dogs. read more

This review is for the Missoula MT Petco. If there was a minus, I would give them -5. I brought 2 beautiful bishons in to Petco. I took home two mistreated hairless dogs. They had little scabs from such close shaves. We purchased the spa treatment & the shave job they were given hurts my heart. Our female was traumatized somehow. She has been scared for 3 days. This has never happened before. I can't let them out in the sun, their skin is showing & they will burn. Angela was our groomer & gave us a discount. We didn't say anything. She said she read the notes incorrectly & used the wrong blade. But, she thought they looked okay. Heartbroken for my pups. And, it's back to Petsmart. They are more costly, but they use scissors & actually cut the hair. Please beware:(( read more

Very rude customer service. I was shopping for fish and a woman was helping me and had bagged a couple fish when she told me to check out another tank. In the process of getting turned around a large group of people came in for fish and she left me with no one else to help. I will never bring my dog to this place again. I returned a few minutes early to pick up my 10 year old dog, William, after having him groomed at PetCo. The groomer apparently didn't realize that I had arrived and could see her through the glass as she finished brushing him on the table. William has arthritis in his knees, his hips hurt, and his right leg shakes if he has to stand for long periods. I had explained all this to her before leaving William, so was shocked and horrified to see her roughly shove him onto the table, jerk his head with the leash, and pull the leash tighter so that his head was pulled up and he was forced to stand as his leg kept sliding out from under him on the metal table. Once she had jerked him into position, she roughly and perfunctorily brushed him. Not once did she pet him, say a word to him, or show him any kind of kindness or compassion. I was so shocked by the way that she was treating him that I didn't even know how to respond. I didn't want to cause a scene by going through the door into the grooming area and removing my dog, but now I feel terrible that I didn't do just that. When she saw that I was there observing, she immediately changed how she was treating William, and brought him to the reception area, telling me what a "good boy" he had been. When I pointed out that I had observed her treating him roughly and ignoring how his leg was shaking and that he was obviously extremely uncomfortable, she loudly and rudely said "What are you TALKING about?" Her response to my concern about how my dog had been treated was to roll her eyes. I feel terrible that I didn't immediately go into the grooming area and remove William from someone who clearly should not be working with animals, and I will never again patronize this place. read more

Took my dog to get a puppy groom. 3 1/2 hours later I picked her up. They did her face, ears and feet. Her length of body hair was the same length as it was. Instead of a 22 lb puppy she looked like a oompa loompa. Need to find another place. read more

I usually get my dog groomed at another Petco as I live elsewhere and they do an amazing job with my long haired pup. Visiting Missoula I brought my dog here for a bath, deshedding, teeth cleaning, and nail trim with Mariah (who I never talked to). After 3 hours she smelled amazing and looked like they brushed her hair but she is still shedding. Usually after the deshedding treatment she doesn't shed for 1-2 months so I am really disappointed I wasted $80 bringing her here. Her nails where barely trimmed as well. My pup seemed a little lethargic picking her up which is also unusual after her pampering. We won't be coming back here unfortunately. read more

Typical Petco with a vast array of items. Each time I've gone here, I've had to wait a while to be helped out (short staffed? Busy? Bad customer service)? The gentleman who helped me with the fish section wasn't very friendly at all (tall guy, dark hair). I also asked him a rather general fish question to see how well he knew fish, and his answer was... totally wrong. I appreciate that they have deals on aquarium plants that are dying. A very recent, un-announced change in Petco policy for cancelling standing grooming appt's if you don't return a phone call left me and my two dogs literally out in the cold today. I've been a regular customer for 12 years between Seattle and Missoula with two dogs and never a missed appointment. I've already rebooked with a small local groomer and won't be setting foot in Petco again. There are too many other options available that value their repeat customers business. read more

I did dog training with Trish at Petco. My dog is very obstinate, and this class did wonders for him and I. Trish is very personable, kind, and helpful. She will go out of her way to find a solution or answer to any problem. After taking the Adult level 1 class, my dog became much more social with other people and animals and eager to please. We just moved to Missoula. I've used both Petsmart ad Petco. This weekend we were looking form extra screws for our dog kennels. I would say over the years, we have purchased well over 15 kennels from Petco. Not only did they not have extra screws, but didn;t even see the need to offer to order them or check other stores. I have gotten extra screws from other locations. So, I went to Petsmart. They had them, and like other locations, THEY WERE FREE! I also did comparisons on the dog grooming services. Petco, I had to wait with the receptionist why she finished a personal conversation. Petsmart was busy, but they made time to answer our questions concerning their experience with our doxies. I'm thinking two stars is to generous. So I will go on line and give Petsmart the better review. read more

Large amount of pet loss (small animal, birds, reptiles and fish) because of improper care (which relates directly to training and hours scheduled) and very hard to find anyone actually working on the floor. The store manager Brian is nice to customers but seems to take delight in berating the people who work there. It's embarrassing for me as a customer to have to see someone treated that poorly. Crappy customer service. There was two woman working and they couldn't even help me find the flea and tick formula for my dog plus they both seemed annoyed. After trying to find it on my own with their poor directions I go back and ask for help again finding it. She points me to the most expensive product they have and when I ask if there is any cheaper she acts annoyed and leaves the register to show me the cheaper product. I tell her my dog weighs about 70 pounds and they only had 20-40 and 85-135. She hands me the 85-135? I just said my dog is 70 pounds. They were out of his weight range so she try's to sell me a product too strong for my dog. No thanks. I told her I would try somewhere else and she rudely says I won't find it anywhere cheaper. Okay lady thanks for the shitty help and trying to sell me the wrong product. Definitely won't be back, there are plenty of places I can buy dog supplies where the service is friendly and helpful. read more
