This review is for the grooming department. I frequently take my dog in for cut and bath and make the appointment a week in advance. They always do a great job with grooming my dog but the past couple of times they have either rescheduled my appointment or canceled. Today, my boyfriend went in to drop off my dog and he was 6 minutes late and the lady in grooming told him that, "since the groomer had no more dogs she went home" so he asked if they had grace period in which she responded 15 minutes. So I don't understand how she couldn't have any more dogs if we had an appointment and we were still within the grace period. It was a complete waste of time and a waste of gas. A courtesy call or text would have been good to have. I have waited around for them at times (sometimes over 15 min) when they were running late but I was understanding because I know stuff happens sometimes. This is our first time running a little behind but for them to keep canceling and rescheduling once we arrive is extremely unprofessional and frustrating. read more

I always bring my dog for his grooming appointments with Ashley, she's super nice to him and takes really good care of him. My dog is not a friendly dog as he's a rescued he doesn't really like people as much but he's really comfortable with her. She takes good care of him.. She always get excited to see him as well as he does.. since she first time she groomed him she told me it would be a good idea to do the VIP treatment as he gets a lot of anxiety is he doesn't know the place or we are not there. That way he gets the attention he needs to be calm. She's very gentle with I really appreciate that.. my dog is my baby.. he always ends up looking handsome. Ashley every time I pick him up she asked if want to reschedule his groomer appointments which makes it a lot more easier for me sometimes it's hard to call to schedule appointments or the app isn't working for appointments. read more

This review is for the dog trainer Estefany. She is amazing in the way she is able to train my two cocker spaniel puppies. First of all, it was really hard to find a consistent day and time that worked for both me and my puppies daddy but thankfully Estefany created a late class at 7pm for us! Every week she showed us new commands to practice at home and how to correct our puppies behaviors such as jumping on people or the bed, nipping, digging, and potty training. Estefany is also very understanding and sympathetic when I have to miss a week of training due to my chronic neck pain which sometimes keeps me bed ridden all day. She is an awesome dog trainer and all around good person. I would recommend her anyone who has a dog that needs a little guidance in the right direction! THANK YOU ESTEFANY!!! I was at this Petco location on Tuesday trying to shop for my pets . I couldn't leave fast enough. The store is so hot it's unbearable . I feel bad for both the animals aswell as the employees. It's way too hot I can't imagine how hot it is when in summer can get upto 120. This is ridiculous. The employees provide excellent customer service and the store is clean but honestly having a store so hot is not okay . I would hate to work here it's way to hot . I know the store doesn't have the control of the ac and thermostat but it's inhumane to have employees work in these conditions aswell as i can imagine the poor animals posably overheating . I would give this review a 5 if could, but the lack of consideration of the pets in this high heat is concerning. I feel that walking into an establishment that has no regards to the environment outside and how it effects not just the pets but the employees and customers is dreadful. I have worked for companies before and know that some companies control the actual temperature in the stores and the associates have no control. your associates are amazing and the selection outstanding, but not being able to shop in the store because of the heat is unacceptable. 5-stars for their Positive Dog Training classes! We signed up our Ruxin for the Adult Level 1 since he's 3-years old and it seemed like he already knew quite a bit before we brought him home from a shelter. Actually, this class was more to train us humans. Hahaha! Our previous dog pretty much ruled us and our house and we quickly realized from the first class that we've been doing it all wrong all those years. Nicole was our trainer for this 6-week course and along with going through the basics, she was also great about giving us a lot of helpful information in other categories (ex.- grooming, diet, etc.) We'll be back for Adult Level 2 at the end of the summer and will be sure to sign up with her again. I love that I can take my dog in here, need more places with that option but I understand that people do not clean up after themselves, I've seen it twice at this store. Horrible service. Wish there was NEGATIVE 0 stars Rating ! took my fluffy 10 year old Maltese poodle for a trimming around the face , legs and back area. I brushed her every other day and they said the hair was tangled and cut her hair down. BUT they shaved her down to her skin without my consent . i had agreed for shorter hair but this was horrible. the hair cut was uneven with longer parts through out her body. This place is my go to place for pet supplies. Having three bunnies is costly but with the rewards program and discounts I save about $5-10 when I buy things. They have the paper litter, oxbow brand and so many toys my rabbits love to throw around and chew on. Sometimes their stock is limited and I can not find what I need but I just hop over to the Montebello petco and they are stocked with variety of food but i usually see a limited toy selection. read more

First of all my dog is only 10 pounds. Came to get get my dog groomed and got " Eliane " , it started off with her telling me the grooming session was going to be 1.5 hours - 2 hours , 2 hours later I call to ask for an update because I didn't get any call. When calling the another groomer answered the phone and said that there was an issue my dog , that he would move when blow drying ( which is very normal for any dog ) and that he is CURRENTLY ( 2 hours in the appt ) " Kennel drying " upon asking what the heck that is they said he was in a cage with a fan in front of him giving him a " light breeze " . After I stressed how that was not okay they said I can't even speak to the groomer Eliane because shes on her LUNCH BREAK, and I told her that it was not okay for Elaine to go on a lunch break during a service !! my dogs fur does not dry from a light breeze fan , I knew he was cold and who knows how long he was in the cage . Washing only takes 10 - 15 minutes max . Elaines coworker then states that my pet was only wet from" his feet ". SO IS HE WET OR DID SHE JUST WANNA GO ON HER LUNCH AND THROW MY DOG IN CAGE . If you come here for grooming do not get Elaine. Elaine's coworker said my pet would be ready in another hour ! I took myself right over there and picked up my dog half wet ( not just his feet ) the first thing he did was pee on the grass , if they are gunna leave my dog in cage for 2 hours they could at least take him to use the restroom. Very limited supplies, the customer service rep lacked knowledge of store products. The rep had no clue on what to recommend for shampoo products. Very disappointing the lack of knowledge. GROOMING: HORRIBLE. DISHONEST. Came here for the $20 puppy package including FACE trim that they advertise. When I got there, the lady tried to upcharge me by saying he's matted. Okay dematting is $7. He wasn't really matted btw, it was one tiny tangle. I agreed anyway. (Our groomer's name was JESSIE. DONT BOOK HER) But then, she said I also HAVE to add on the spa package because he's matted. I asked is it a requirement? And she said yes, because he's matted. Otherwise we can't get the matts out. Uhhh, isn't that what the $7 dematting is for? Later I found out online that the spa package has nothing to do with the mats. It's for a "scented spritz" and "teeth brushing." She didn't brush his teeth by the way. Alright so afterwards, she said she couldn't trim the face. Only the mouth. I told her that one of the main reasons I came was because his hair was growing into his eyes. She said "okay I'll try, but he wasn't having it." Uhhh then why are you charging me for it? And aren't you trained for that? (Remember I paid the extra for the face trim). So anyway I watch her trim the face since I was there for the ending, and he totally was fine! She was just lazy. DO NOT COME HERE if you want someone honest. I'm a regular at the El Monte Petco, and they quote me the correct advertised price. But not here. I asked her how much a haircut is here, and she said "67" because she doesn't wanna do it. At El Monte, it's $40 by the way. I'm not opposed to higher prices. But I AM opposed to dishonesty. Just be upfront with me and actually DO what you say you will. UPDATE: my friend also tried to make an appointment here. He was quoted $50 for the bath and cut. After telling them he had a 50% first time customer coupon, the SAME lady said "ooh actually I read it wrong, it's $90". They definitely work on commission or something....... I bought a lizard here, and the female worker here has a bad attitude, which made me feel like I don't deserve to have a lizard. I wanted to make sure that I am getting a female lizard, so I asked her if she knows their gender, and she told me she is not supposed to say to the customer the lizard's gender. So I asked her to grab a lizard to investigate their gender myself, and she gave me a bad attitude. Within a few seconds, she put the lizard back in the tank, and I wanted to have a better look at the lizard so I can make sure that it's a female and she gave me that bad attitude and told me that she couldn't keep doing this for me because the lizard gets stressed. I understand that, but she showed it to be less than 30 seconds, and I still couldn't figure out if the lizard were a female or male. I bought a female lizard yesterday at another Petco, and I didn't want a male lizard because I don't want them to mate. She was not helpful at all but just gave me some attitude and told me that they could not guarantee the return of this lizard even though this lizard has some problems because I am not buying a cage with it. I already told her that I bought a lizard yesterday, so I already have a tank. She wrote, "no guarantee," with a red marker on my receipt and the box for me.
