Worst grooming ever. I hate leaving bad reviews but I specifically asked for his head/around the eyes and legs/paws to be trimmed extra and there's at least and inch of hair left along my boys legs. Not at all what I asked for. Also they charged me extra (without asking or calling me) for conditioner (which I didn't ask for) and trimmers because the tech"needed them to get around his legs". Never coming back here again. Common courtesy is calling an owner to let them know you are going to use a new product and be charged extra for it. This store seems to employ the worst of the worst - especially Jerry, the "Aquatic Manager". My husband and I asked about a specific fish that was silver, in a tank full of orange fish, who looked like he was being bullied -- and asked to buy him -- and Jerry said, "he did not acclimate" and pulled the living, swimming fish out of the water with his hand, squished him, and put him in a black disposal bag, all while I kept saying "Please do not kill that fish, I want to buy him. What are you doing?!" He kept the fish alive and gasping for air in his hand for at least a minute or so before squishing and disposing of him while I begged him to please sell us the fish so we could give him a fighting chance at life and said "we have a tank at home and everything, PLEASE" and when he killed the fish in front of me and I started to cry, as I am sensitive, I threw down at least $60 worth of things I was buying for our cat and walked out. It was *sadistic* -- he knew we wanted the fish and he seemed to enjoy killing the fish in front of me. After we left the store, my husband went back in, looking for a manager who was not present. Someone at the register said "Oh, man, that's the first complaint we got about him this month, but he was being nice to the kids over there." (Is that a good thing? That's for you to decide, since he seems to take joy in killing living animals -- and yes, even small fish are living animals) in front of people begging him not to). Further, my husband was told there have been many complaints about Jerry, but "that is just how he is and you have to deal with it." The thing is, no, we don't. The store lost a large sale when I walked out and bought the same items at a different store that was *not* PetCo -- but furthermore, Jerry is not an annoying family member at Thanksgiving who I have to deal with -- he is an employee at a store that I, and my husband, can choose to not return to -- as well as any friends of ours who I told the story to, who were horrified by what happened, as everyone knows I love all animals and I treat our fish as well as I treat our cat, as well as I treat birds I say hello to when I am walking somewhere. It seems like Jerry, the employees, and the management, are all problems, but hey, "just deal" with watching someone suffocate, squish, and dispose of a fish you asked to purchase and tell me that is not somehow sadistic and wrong? I will never return to this store, and I will tell anyone I know to go anywhere else. read more

I took my dog to this location because it was her birthday and I was going to give her a shopping spree. She picked out multiple items that I know she will enjoy. Anastasia was extremely welcoming and treated my dog very special on her day. I want to thank Anastasia for making this day the best day for my dog. I took my humongous 8 year old, 90 lbs, adopted 6 months ago Belgian Malinois/Akita dog for his first bath there along with a pedicure! I didn't have his rabies paperwork but thought his annual tag would suffice. They were kind enough to call the vet to verify! I was nervous leaving him since he likes to jump up on people and play with new people, so I wanted to just keep an eye on him. I'm so happy for the particular groomer that took care of him. She is very calming to be around (for me as well), I like how she went the extra step to verify his rabies, and was composed, compassionate, and outstandingly kind. The only suggestion I have to make is, there is no waiting area nor a chair for the hour wait , since I am 70+ and don't have it to scamper around the store recently! Kudos! Fantastic experience as a shopper, client of Vetco the shot clinic, and the grooming salon. Most recently I took my pup in for grooming and Jacqueline turned him into the handsome boy he is! Prices are reasonable for services and all staff throughout the store are friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Great store! read more

I absolutely LOVE this Petco! I currently do training with Ashley who is wonderful! She loves our dog Laika so much. Ashley is super welcoming and friendly. Jose is great, too! I love that I can go to him for questions about training as well. Grooming is excellent and I trust them 100% with my dog. After having a terrible (and I mean, TERRIBLE) experience at Petsmart's (Stamford) grooming, I went to Petco to try them. They are so loving with Laika. I love their demeanor, they're very calm and gentle with all of the dogs. Traveling to Norwalk from Stamford is definitely worth it for this location! read more

Would give it zero stars if I could. My husband brought my showcase golden retriever here because our usual groomer( who is amazing) was booked too far out and we needed a trim. Poor dog was clipped with add on brush, looking like someone went with scissors on her piece by piece. Think farmer clipping a ship. Not only they destroyed her coat and undercoat, it was done so poorly that apparently there is no guarantee her coat and undercoat will ever come back to the same texture. When I called the owner she refused the refund and said 'bring her back in so we can fix it'. There is NO WAY this place is ever touching any of my dogs again, and if you don't want to destroy yours, I would stay away. Best of it - their excuse-your husband signed the paperwork! read more

We've stopped in here a couple of times to get supplies for our new puppy. It's a pretty standard Petco, the layout is kind of chaotic, though. This store could really do with a refresh and reorganization. There's a section of puppy toys, but it's sort of hidden and not as good of a selection as I'd have liked. The dog food is clear on the opposite side of the store, but it does have a good selection. There's just a general lack of organization and messy shelving. Employees are helpful and friendly, and we otherwise had no issues. read more

although pleasant, this grooming shop isn't a place I'll ever use again. please take a few more moments out of your way, and head over to the Petco in Norwalk. they are excellent. they charged me full price for a nail clipping yet skipped over 4 nails. They said I need to go to the vet. they also put my 4 lb dog in a neck sling to do them. The next day I went to see Jacqueline at Norwalk Petco, and she instantly took care of it and wouldn't charge me. Please be so careful if you decide to leave your pet here. read more

Be careful to check the expiration dates on the dog food. They have expired dog food on the shelves. I bought a bag of dog food and had to come back to exchange it, and while doing that the employee treated me so bad, definitely they need customer service training in the Norwalk store. They didn't care about my inconvenience. I would never come back to this store. I will buy online so I don't have to deal with these employees. read more

Good store, coming here for years, but today I try to vaccinate a very friendly stray cat and I was refused because the Dr doesn't want to endanger his technician and himself. Really, are you a vet or what? I put that cat in a carrier and I handle that cat and I'm not a vet. Shame, you shouldn't handle animals at all, if you refuse to help a stray! Had an amazing experience there this afternoon. Stumbled across this petco while visiting a friend who lives around the corner from this location. Went inside unsure of the things I truly needed for both my turtle tank and fish tank. Was helped by a girl named Vanessa she was nothing short of amazing she not only helped me get the things I needed but she also educated me on the things I didn't know! I've been to several pet stores including petco by my house in white plains and have yet to received this type of attentive help! She rocks! I couldn't thank Vanessa enough! And my favorite feature is how welcoming they are to local rescue groups -- they allow rescues to bring ADOPTABLE PETS into the store to help them find forever homes. Love the store after the remodel. Have all types of animals and are willing to special order fish for customers. Wish they had more corals, but tanks are very clean. Sometimes the lines get long, and the cashier pages for backup, no one comes. Customer service is okay. Some people are knowledgeable while others have no idea what is going on. Company should issue more coupons. Prices are higher than other companies, and sometimes it gets difficult not to go to the more cost effective location. Grooming services are great. My dog would get the full spa treatment. Whenever something isn't in stock, they'll order it for you and put it aside. Overall great experiences. No complains except for the checkout lines. read more

In December I brought my pet for the rabies vaccine and they put it on. But now they do not want to give me the certificate because there is no record that has received it. Bad service. I have the receipt of payment, the plate with the series and I saw that if they applied the vaccine. They do not keep pet medical files correctly. read more

This store has been the most organized pet store in the norwalk/westport area. I have used the grooming services and trust the groomers. I have also seen them do many events for local dog and cat organizations which is great for the community. The staff is helpful, even on busy days they will always answer a question and have good knowledge. read more
