I like Petco for a lot of different reasons, but this isn't my regular location. I stopped in to check out cat toys since I was here, and I didn't find what I needed which is fine. I do like shopping here because they generally have an awesome selection of pet stuff. They did have litter boxes galore, tons of food to choose from, litter and some food dishes. They try to stock for a variety of pets like fish, reptiles, cats, dogs and others as well. I was really looking for some cat toys, specifically wand toys for my new cat. They only had a few to choose from and I really didn't like what was in stock. Overall, a good location with friendly staff. They do host adoption events on Saturdays with local rescues, which I checked out too. read more

There are 4 leopard geckos that are very skinny and one is knocking on deaths door. I was willing to pay $20 for it to take it in and try to get it back to where he needs to be at weight wise. The geckos was so skinny you can see all of his bones in his back and throughout his tail. When we asked to speak to a manager the manager was talking to me and my fiancé through an employee instead of handling the situation their self. I ended up walking out not buying anything due to the fact they told me they could only offer 20% off A DYING GECKO. I took pictures and im going to call corporate and everyone else. ​ read more

I highly do not recommend. Erin cut my dog's nails too short and sliced the quick on all four paws. When I picked up my dog, she did not tell me this happened and after the drive home I was met with blood everywhere. I called the store after and was told that this happens often where they forget to let owners know they cut into the quick and is causing the dogs to bleed. All four paws were bleeding. read more

This is a super busy pet store on weekends. First time at a Petco. Seen they had a dog cookie bar so I wanted to go check it out. Super nice variety of bulk dog treats that are healthy. Very clean and efficient cashiers at moving pretty large crowds. They have a really good variety of dog foods and a pretty cool toy section. Definitely left a little more broke due to cool toys like a little Star Wars Darth Vader and little Spider-Man squeaky toys. My Shih Tzu definitely approves of this pet store. read more

I usually buy all of my dog toys and dog food here. I shop so often that I know all their employees. Rob is great; always happy and respectful. Alyssa, a cashier who "helped" me with a purchase yesterday (3/31/22), and the manager (blonde female, no name tag) were rude, not helpful, and should not be in customer service. Maybe it's because of new management but it was such an unpleasant experience for me that I will take my business to amazon or Chewy from now on. read more

I take my dog to get her nails cut here all the time. They make sure they note who does it the first time and have them do it for you if they're available so your dog is comfortable. As an owner of a rescue with really bad separation anxiety I really appreciate that. After not having the best experience at this store twice the new manager Dave took it upon himself to reach out to me and make it right. Thanks a lot Dave. I have formed an incredible amount of poor opinions of this store, but the fact that the managers are so incredibly and blatantly rude and uneducated on ANYTHING animal husbandry related frustrates me. Good luck finding out a chain of custody on any of their animals like where their birds come from, because they can't, and won't, tell you anything and try to rush you to leave. They also know nothing about their birds or bird species, and the cages LACK ALL ENRICHMENT needed to raise healthy birds. Their birds are moulting all times of the year, which is know to be caused by imminent stress and lack of proper conditions. They are only supposed to moult once or twice each year in their correct season. One toy per cage? That's why your birds are losing feathers and plucking. That's why your birds beaks seem to be in poor health and are aggressive to everyone around them. That's why their nails are WRETCHED and overgrown. Who the TAKES CARE OF THEM AND TRIMS THEM OR DOES ANYTHING FOR THEM?????? They sit there to rot until an someone comes to buy them, but still not a proper owner. If someone is already going to purchase your behaviorally screwed up parrots/birds, you better give them information on the upbringing and source. Just telling them "Um I think they're from APet" isn't sufficient. There should always be a hatch certificate and band number. As an experienced and professional exotic bird owner and handler who also runs an organization for parrots and rescues, I can't believe they've been getting away with this for so long. Probably because most of their customers waltz in and purchase them without thinking anyways, but still. You are part of a large corporation and should have adopted standards for pet sourcing, as well as proper management and animal care/husbandry techniques and training. It's like someone just got thrown in as a manager and doesn't understand the importance of caring for a housing animals. It's pathetic and inexcusable for such a large and for-profit pet store. Your male store owner/and/or manager is rude and unprofessional, and lacks consideration from customers points of view and facts. Also the fact that two of your staff and potentially more agreed with me and said they feel terrible having to see it and not be able to say anything to their manager makes me even more upset that all of this occurs. read more

I called on a Monday to see if I could bring my dog in to get his nails trimmed. They told me they were really busy and to come in on Tuesday. I asked if they had any appointments available around 6:30. They told me that nails are a walk in service and do not require an appointment. Fast forward to Tuesday. I arrived at 6:32 to a locked door at the grooming center. I went inside and asked at the cash register if grooming was closed. I was told they closed early at 6:00 due to a lack of appointments. If you really want to use the Groomers at Petco, insist that they schedule an appointment for you. I just wasted 40 minutes on snow covered roads to get here. read more

I take my dog here for grooming and I can honestly say my 2 groomers are the best! I've stood outside the window (where Max couldn't see me) and watched how they handle my sometimes difficult dog and I have to say I was very surprised at how gentle they were and knowledgeable they are. I witnessed them try several different calming techniques with him and they actually worked! Hands down the only place to go! He always comes out looking and smelling great. Well, here's a store I'll never go to again. I went in with a list, created from petco.com. The site warns that "...because our online store is national in scope you may find that our product assortment, prices, or promotions differ from your local store. We try to minimize the impacts of these differences in order to provide you with the best possible shopping experience." Sure, okay. A couple items on my 12-item list might be a little more. Maybe a couple won't be in stock. That's just how it goes, right? Wrong. While the majority of the items I wanted were available, they were at least 30% more expensive than the advertised price online. That's "minimized"? There was one item in particular (an aquarium stand) that had no price at all. Because there was only one person working who wasn't grooming a dog, I waited in line for ten minutes to check the price. Nearly twice the advertised price online. You'd think a store that proudly advertises that they price match when you walk in the door would... you know... match their own price. Sadly, not so: "Petco stores do not match the prices of petco.com" as the site says, and the overworked cashier confirmed. A local independent shop? Happy to match every price I had on my list. read more

I'm really disappointed with my Petco purchase. We bought seven fish and a week later only one is still alive. They contaminated my entire tank with ich and took out my oldest fish. I have a long established tank, so this shouldn't have ever happened. Petco has a 30 day guarantee on their fish. They ask that you bring in the old fish to be treated in their wellness room and either give you more fish (this isn't helpful at all since you tank is now contaminated with ich) or give you your money back. I asked the manager if he would give me the ich treatment (about $5), though he was really polite, he said no. Bummer. read more

I find this place really lacking in quality grain free treats. I wish they had more things like merricks, pizzles, canidae, etc. I also find all of their treats for dogs and their food much pricer than my beloved Pet Supplies Plus. They often have pet adoptions. They also have low cost vaccine clinics which is GREAT. Just get there very early as the line is HUGE. Decent selection of toys/babies. Poor selection of over priced potty pads. You can get their nails done, but I have had better grooming elsewhere. read more

I forgot to say that I found my second dog....my loving lifelong friend...at Petco dog adoption day....very professional service, kind staff and so grateful Petco offers this adoption service...thank you Petco! Also, the grooming staff is the best. My older baby has trouble walking...this was the only groomer, and I have been to several, that patiently helped her to the washing room, gave her loving pats on the head and soft kind words to keep her calm. Very professional staff...I will not go to any other groomers by Petco. read more

I went to this store to get some basic supplies. I'll not go back. I'm so disappointed in the Petco brand name now. I moved to MI from San Diego, where Petco began... thus places like Petco Park where the Padres play. Quickly, the prices were over the top. There was one overwhelmed looking worker on the floor intently trying to stock shelves. There were few if any choices for basic things like pet carriers. I ended up buying the only thing I actually could not do without, cat food, and left. I quickly ordered everything I need from Amazon, paid 1/3 of the price, and it arrived with no fuss the next day. I'm sad about this. I hope they get it together. I hope Petco gets their prices on a fair playing field with online prices matching in store prices that are also competitive with other sellers. read more

Love love LOVE the grooming salon! My dog hasn't had the best experience with prior grooming salons and since then has always been terrified to go into salons. But the girls in the grooming salon have worked with him by giving him LOTS OF LOVE (which is the most important thing to me) treats, and the best haircut I've ever seen him in! He now sprints to the door everytime he see's we're at Petco! And he loves everyone in there and is always giving them kisses! It's great to see such a positive change in him, and I would like to thank the groomers for being such loving, kind, genuine people. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this place!! read more

I will NEVER go to this store again!! The store has everything where it belongs and the aisles and floors were clean but the way they treat their animals is disgraceful!! Those cages look they haven't been cleaned in weeks! The bottoms were completely covered in feces, I didn't see any food available for them either. Just to stand by them made me gag! I was just appalled, I was in a catch 22. I wanted to rescue all the animals from there but at the same time to think about buying an animal I would wonder just how long it would really last. I own multiple pets and they were purchased at another location, I will continue to go to that one where their cages are spotless! read more

I absolutely love their grooming salon! They were incredibly nice to me and my dog and made her look exactly how I wanted! My dog usually hates getting groomed but this time she came back all smiles and tail wagging! Thank you groomers at Petco! You made my puppy happy again! read more

Took my dog to get groomed there and the service there was awful. Was told to bring a pic of how I wanted her groomed and then she didn't even look at it. when I came to pick up my dog she was still wet in the ears and bottom area. My dog had an elastic band with a top knot and it was completely cut off. This groomer did not even try to listen or look at the pic. And my dog usually looks so pretty after a grooming and this was not the case here. It didn't even look like she was brushed out. Her tail was even still a bit wet. read more
