I never had an issue with a Petco location until my dog was sent to this one. My dad had been taking my dog there multiple times, but he calls to set up an appointment and the girl on the phone tells him that she can no longer be seen there. That's so ridiculous. They said that she is "too old". Maybe they should instead train their staff in how to handle older dogs instead of just sending them away..luckily there are other grooming places that have the expertise to adequately groom dogs. read more

I am irritated that I have to give this review 1 star..... I made an appointment online for my Maltese to be groomed. I had a 2:15 appointment on 7/17/2021. From the time we arrived it seemed like Ashley (the groomer) didn't want to work today. The 1st issue was his rabies vac...he has a rabies tag that is stamped 2021 yet Ashley made me go through the motions of downloading the paperwork. The tag clearly says 2021 there is NO WAY the tag was expired as rabies vacs last 1 year...but OK...so after downloading the paperwork and showing her the effective date we finally move to how I want him cut. I explained that he had a matted spot on his chest and that I wanted him short but hopefully not scalped. Ashley then used the matted area as the reason she could not cut him. She literally told me a VET would have to cut the matted area and that she found one on his front paw. I am not sure what she did to that area on his front paw but my fur baby was in my arms and NEVER growls at anyone while I'm holding him and he started growling at her as if she was pulling the matted area. At that point I decided it wasn't worth the energy or the effort to keep going back and forth with Ashley about the cut. We left and I called multiple vets only to be told VETs DO NOT GROOM ANIMALS. So the whole story of a vet had to groom him was BS. I wasted my time, rearranged my day and my gas to travel 30+ minutes for this appointment only for it to fail because Ashley didn't want to work today. Even worse, I called PetSmart, explained how Petco refused to cut him due to the matted spots and after a brief hold while the agent spoke to the head groomer, my fur baby was granted an appointment for tomorrow with the head groomer. No bogus story of a VET having to cut him or him needing special handling. That being said, I will NOT recommend this Petco location, nor would I recommend the groomer Ashley. To add insult to injury, I STILL went to the Petco in Peachtree City to get an item that Petco doesn't carry which makes the trip to Petco an even more waste of time. read more

First place I took my dog to get groomed and it was the worst experience for her. She used to be able to get groomed but after this one visit with them she's gotten really bad anxiety and not from being separated from me but from getting groomed cause I groom her now cause that visit left her unable to be groomed again and when I do she gets really bad nerves and starts shaking crazy. read more

The poor review on this space make complete sense , this location rescheduled my appointment not once but twice at there own doing . I assume for emergencies and my pets appointment was an annual . We arrive at WALKED IN at 949 for an 945 appointment as my girl had a nervous tummy when she realized where we were and this place asked to reschedule a 3rd time . For a commercial store that already has a terrible track record I'll wait for our true vet to be available . However with a huge flea and tick sign out front it's piss poor service not see a patient when typically we spend 20 mins waiting to be seen . THIS is why people hate vets but vets complain about neglectful pet owners . EVERYONE has a bad Petco story . And the desk attendant had poor customer service and terrible personality. One of their employees snatched a cat toy from my 1 year old toddler who was playing with the kittens! She would occasionally hit the side of the cage which I was redirecting her not to do so, but AGAIN THAN SHE IS A TODDLER!!! The employee proceeded to rudely approach my toddler without a word and grabbed the toy from her and of course my toddler cries. She had the most terrible look on her face! All the other employees standing in the kennel stood there and watched this older lady do this. Please don't let your children interact with animals because the employees here don't have manners nor patience. This could have easily been a teachable moment for my ONE YEAR OLD CHILD, but this employee chose violence and traumatized myself and my kids!!! read more

wish I could give a negative star. Waited 25 minutes past scheduled appointment. Had to go and find someone to try to find an explanation for the delay. Was greeted with someone would be with us in 15 minutes. No apology given for our wait. We left without receiving any service. The groomers are always very sweet with my black lab Keeno. Since he gets his nails trimmed at the vet (he gets snippy and nervous when his paws are touched), they substitute brushing his teeth for the nail trim. He also shines like the sun after they're done with him! The cashiers are also very knowledgeable about their products each time I go in. Sometimes they don't have the selection I want (typically when it comes to dental chews), but they're not overbearing when I say I'll have to go somewhere else to get what I need. I visit this store pretty regularly and will continue to do so unless I'm no longer living near it. read more

If your dog isn't perfect they no longer will groom. my Frenchie has seizures rarely, she has been groomed here over the past nine years never a problem, has never had an episode in public. I disclosed on the form and she is no longer welcome. This is akin to disability discrimination in humans but applied to our fur babies. not a animal inclusive environment. read more

Let me first say that the service was great. Aimee the cashier was super nice and helpful. What concerned me was that I found some cold medicine for my cat on their website for $6.79. I could purchase it online for pick up in store. I decided to just go to the store just in case I wanted to get some other items. I found the medicine and the price in store is labeled $17.99. I take it to the cashier and it rings up as $17.99, $19.00 with tax. I tell her and show her where is $6.79 online and she says no problem and gave it to me for that price. I can't help but wonder if I hadn't checked online first I would have over payed a lot. I saw several other times priced the same way. read more

I used to always shop at Pet Smart, but I just happened upon this pet store taking a little drive through PTC, and I am in love. It is a bit pricey, but the staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My mom has bought a few Bettas from PetCo, and they have some of the most beautiful selection of Bettas, and at really good prices. The store is well-lit, unlike Pet Smart, and I like the layout of the store. read more

My dog had a grooming appointment with Amber on 5/31/21. She did HORRIBLE. My fiancé went to pick her up, once We got into the car I was able to examine her after the appointment. My dog was not cut evenly, she had several bald spots, and Amber did not grind or cut down her nails properly. My fur baby also had a red sore on her butt (as if she was nicked with the clippers) that I noticed when I got home. I called back to speak with Amber to ask how did the cut happen. She never came to the phone and the front desk lady that I spoke with advised me that she doesn't know what happened, she also stated that when she spoke with Amber she claims that she didn't know what happened either and didn't notice the sore after she completed the grooming. Obviously they did something to my dog, she arrived to her grooming appt with NO sores, scars, or cuts, but mysteriously after her getting groomed a sore/cut appears and NO ONE knows what happened. Very unprofessional! I will never go back to this specific Petco again! I assumed because it was in a nice area it would be good groomers but I was obviously wrong! Then to make it worst my fiancé left Amber a $3 tip that she definitely DID NOT deserve. If you decide to get your fur baby groomed at this location beware of AMBER! read more

Comparable cat food and cat litter selection to that of PetSmart, though sometimes their prices are higher. They also seem to have fewer animals available. However, I love the service here. The people seem happy to work here, and are always willing to help. The store is always clean, and smells clean, and is very well organized. read more

I go to Petco for everything animal related. I own 2 Siberian huskies that come here for both dog training and grooming. Their groomers are wonderful with them and Jazmine the dog trainer is the best. I also have red belly toads, a leopard gecko, and fish tank in my classroom (I teach 5th grade). Megan and Christy help with all the care my little ones need. Thanks for all you do! read more

When I went the last time I loved it. My dog seemed happy and the people at were really sweet. This time the customer service was crap. I'm entrusting you with a pet I love very much I don't really feel comfortable doing that if you have such a horrible attitude and the workers were shouting at one another while servicing me.
