They rely on ONE single breeder to deliver their feeder rats and feeder mice, and this breeder has not delivered a single rat in nearly 3 months!! the employees in this location are wonderful and try to be helpful, but the selection of the breeder is up to corporate as I've been told. so, my snake who only eats LIVE rats (she has graduated beyond mice) is suffering. no other pet stores in the southern half of my state (Delaware) sell live feeders, so we are stuck with Petco. She's becoming malnourished now because the available mice aren't enough nutrition for her. This isn't something non-essential like wanting squeaky toys restocked, this is food. and nobody is doing anything about it. I'm currently on hold with corporate, but the call is farmed out to an Indian call center and the woman can't even spell "Delaware". This is hopeless and I'm PISSED. read more

We took our older dog to get her nails trimmed. Previously, our dog saw a young woman who was kind and gentle. She was wonderful with our dog. She was not in that day. The older man working there said he would be done in 5 mins. Our dog required a calm and patient person which he is not. He was rough with our dog and rude to us. Never went back. I don't know why the low star reviews. I'm very happy with Petco as far as the grooming goes. Way better than my experience at PetSmart. I go there regularly now cause I liked them. They don't overbook the pet patients I don't recommend the training, though. It was not that great. I got they one on one classes for my dogs pulling in a leash. It was okay but I didn't think it was worth the cost. I also use the Vetco services. I like them. I've used them twice. I think it's expensive but my dog gets all his shots and medicines that last the whole year. About $475 but if you break that down by pet 12 months, it's like $40 month for my dogs shots, heartworm, flea and tick, deworming and all the basics. In that perspective, it isn't horribly overpriced nor anything. Any other vet will charge the same amount, if not more. Totally happy with Petco. PetSmart is closer to me but I prefer Petco. I'm not giving them 5 stars cause I wish some prices for products were cheaper. I can get it much cheaper at Walmart. The same things, same brand. But it's a higher end store just for pets. Had my 10 year old Black Lab nails trimmed with a grinder. A very mellow dog who is trained in service. The groomer, Sarah, put an extremely tight collar around his neck. I commented to not "choke" him. She made me take off his harness and ID. Everyone is saying and using this Stupid Pandemic as an excuse. What about using the same grooming leash and collar transmitting the virus? (Why not have a harness for dogs that wear harnesses for trimming?) Upon her return, she commented he "choked himself" when he got off the table. I WON'T UNDERSTAND how this person, this particular PetCo, can NOT listen to a handler. Using the Coronavirus as an excuse will not work for everything. I will not use this PetCo for grooming again. I recommend you look elsewhere also. read more

I made an appointment at the Rehoboth Beach, DE Petco for my dog to be groomed. I was told the cost would be $50. When I arrived at the store 2 weeks later for the appointment, I was told the groomer did not come in to work and my dog could not be groomed. Later that day I got a call at home asking me to bring my dog in the next day, which I accepted. When I dropped her off the next day, the girl at the salon told me the grooming would be $76, not the $50 that was originally quoted. After speaking to the manager of the store, we agreed on a $61 price. End of story? Nope. When I picked my dog up I was handed a bill for $66. Save yourself the trouble, cross Petco off your list when looking for a groomer. read more

I have been buying my dog food at this petco for over a year. last night I drove 30 minutes bought my $69.00 bag of dog food. when I got to the car I realized I was over charged by $5.00. I went back in thinking the would fix the receipt. instead he basically accused me of trying to get over on him for $5.00.. the food was tagged wrong on the shelf. common practice is to honor the ticketed price. he made bring the 20lb bag of food back in the store and still wouldn't honor the price. I returned everything and petco lost $84.00 over $5.00 . I will not return to this or any petco ever. Zack needs more training on problem solving. read more

The worst grooming experience I have had for my dogs in 15 years. The two women working should not be working for with animals or humans. Our one dogs collar was returned so tight we could not get our finger between her throat and the collar. The cut was horrible to say the least if you care at all about your pets go anywhere else. read more

The worst customer service I've ever had in my life.... Went to get a simple Rabies shot for my adopted dog. Michele's a horrible person and doesn't deserve to work with animals or talk to humans. She should go to McDonald's Donald's and apply for the drive thru window. I used the Petco grooming services for my dog and was very disappointed with the unethical experience. I booked the service at PETCO.COM and was quoted a priced for the cutting and grooming package, which was inline with their competitors. However once I actually physically brought the dog in the added an additional 30 dollar charge only because they claimed their website wasn't accurate and should've been charging for service by breed and not size. This was such BS that I should've just walked out, but I had taken time out of my busy week to get this service on my schedule. They even charge twice for an additional service which should've been included in the first place. It will be a cold day in hell before I step foot into that store again. read more

Grooming at Petco is of high quality. The groomers are kind and patient with my senior golden who has arthritis. They take their time and meet her at her level of need. Continually excellent. read more

Went there on July 1st to adopt a cat. Their website says that they have a pet adoption event on July 1st and 2nd. Fought Coastal Highway traffic on July 4th weekend to get there. No pets are available for adoption. They told me that their pet rescue is out of business. But their website still lists this event. So it was a completely wasted trip. Wont be going back for pet supplies. read more
