The worst display of customer service I have ever encountered. The associate was yelling in the background while trying to talk to a different associate. She then got on the phone and hung up on me. She did not care to be patient when working through challenges with an anxious dog. I asked for a manager who was equally as bad. The level of bias was alarming. read more

The store up the street didn't have a leasg to walk two dogs....walking two dogs can be a circus. The cashier was fairly knowledgeable but also quick to ask a coworker for the location of the item. Always have a great grooming experience here with my dog Daisy. Whether it's just for a nail trim or a full service - wash, cut, nails, etc. Misty has groomed Daisy twice and she always comes out looking great. And some of the other groomers there have trimmed her nails. I've also had a great experience at the puppy training classes and puppy playtime with Alex with my other dog Maxwell. read more

Stopped by this location today, store seems smaller then a lot of the other ones. Limited parking here, but it was also their vet co clinic today-discount shots to make sure all animals are caught up on their immunizations. I noticed their dog training room is a lot smaller then the Henrietta location, not a lot of room for the dogs to move around. Store itself was well stocked and clean. Lots of customers had their dogs in the store, nice friendly touch. read more

WORST dog grooming, DO NOT USE! Unfortunately, the coronavirus put our dog groomer of 14 years out of business. We decided to try Petco Pittsford for our 1 year old goldendoodle. It took Petco over 5 hours to cut our dogs hair and based on the results it probably only took them 20 minutes. Our furry & fluffy friend was completely shaven, including his bushy tail. They literally just took the clippers and shaved everything off. We have never been so disappointed picking up our dog from the groomers. Typically our dog(s) take 2 to 3 hours max for grooming, 5+ hours is ridiculous. It was obvious our dog hadn't been let outside for a break either based on how he immediately did #1 & #2 when he got outside. Makes me believe he was likely left in a cage for most of the 5 hours until they got around to him. Absolute joke and amateur hour. I guess you get what you pay for going to a national chain. Will never eveshop at Petco again let alone use them for grooming. UPDATE: 2 weeks later and no response from Petco. Since getting this haircut others have told us they have had similar experiences. The 5+ hours of your dog waiting in a cage with no water or bathroom breaks appears to be their normal practice. Groom at your own risk! read more

Really great experience here with one of their groomers. I have a five year old rescue dog that has been with me for six months. He has very short hair so I only needed nail services, and she was able to do a trim and use the buffer even the first time I brought him in when I had no idea what to expect behavior-wise. Had a horrible experience with a different groomer at a different location, so unfortunately I cannot bring my dog back, but just wanted to shout her out. No complaints about this location. Would definitely recommend to others, at least for nail trims. read more

Blue Buffalo food bought there likely made my dog ill. Granted, this is not be the stores fault. My dog became ill on that food . After much testing and a number of vet visits we switch him off of the Blue food and that solved his problem. Store service so-so , prices nothing special. read more

If you know what you want and don't need any help, I guess it is ok. Just avoid the place if you expect someone to get off a personal phone call/txt and help you. We used to bring our cat here to get his nails clipped. The attendant was this big burly guy and had a magical way with our cat, Wembley. He had a deep voice like Michael Clarke Duncan whispering, "Hey Wembluh, come here," and would wrangle him over to the counter. When we first adopted our cat, he was feisty and would claw at you if you touched him in the wrong way. This guy was a miracle worker and would clip his nails in a matter of seconds. It was ~$10 for the service, which after a while we couldn't justify knowing we could do it ourselves. We bought a pair of nail clippers here for $10... they were crap. We use human nail clippers now and they work perfectly. In general, this Petco is nice when you need something on the go and you're in the area, but I rarely go here for toys or food since I find the prices to be marked up. I'd rather support a local shop if I can. They often have Lollypop and other shelters bring in pets for adoption days. It's hard to resist adopting all of them. It might be a convenient option if you're looking for a new furball instead of driving out to Lollypop. read more

I love this PetCo! I bring my dog Bandit here all the time. Everyone is so nice to him. He's very scared of anyone other than me and I'm glad that the employees let him sniff them and get comfortable around them. I've only ran into a few employees that seem like they don't care or don't want to talk/help. But that's not important because the ones that do matter. I love the price matching at Petco. I have worked at retail stores so I know what it's like having to price match and it can get annoying so I appreciate the patience ya'll have. This will always be my to go to pet store in Rochester. read more

Normally I prefer small "mom and pop" pet stores, but in a pinch I go to this Petco. It is always clean and the animals are in good health. Cages are a bit too small or overstocked (way too many ferrets in one small display), but not the worst I've seen. I really only come here for the aquatics section. They have an excellent variety of saltwater and freshwater fish, and a nice selection of aquatic plants. Good prices on the fish, too. read more

I went here to find a cat carrier. The prices are outrageous! It was very obvious that some of the carriers had even been used before. I ended up finding one on Craigslist that was much cheaper & had only been used once. I would rather reuse anyway. read more

I am sad to report that after my private groomer went out of business for personal reasons, I decided to take my dogs (two goldens) to Petco for grooming. The sad part is coming. I had used their services in the past for many years while living in a different state and had always been pleased with their kindness and grooming skill. So I expected the same from the Petco in Pittsford. All seemed fine when I dropped off my two dogs for grooming on a Sat. afternoon. We always get their top package which includes all the bells and whistles of grooming, including the bath, trimming the ear and toe hairs, cleaning the ears, etc. When we went to pick them up two hours later, boy were we surprised. They had shaved our dogs everywhere except the head and the tail (making them look like squirrels). I have never had my dogs shaved, so I was in shock. Their previously beautiful coat was completely gone and they even seemed to be cold when they hit the outside air. My husband pleaded with me not to say anything (he hates complaining, and I do too, but I feel that at times you need to if you want to prevent the same issue for someone else). I decided to call the manager after thinking about it for a while. I spoke with the general manager and she was very nice. She said she was new to the store and expressed that they have had problems with communication with the grooming department in the past. She consulted with the grooming department and assumed responsibility for what had happened as we had not instructed them to shave our dogs. She offered us 2 free grooming appts to use when their hair grows back, and any trims in between to make their hair look as good as it can (I forgot to mention that the shave was uneven). I really appreciated her trying to make amends, but I don't feel comfortable taking my dogs there again. I am sure there may be some groomers that are ok there, but I don't want to risk it again. I am writing this review to urge you to be very clear in your request for services and to double check what they will be doing to your dog. I wish I had stayed in the store to watch them groom them, but I have never felt a need to do that before, so I think it's just me feeling nervous now. Something's been very wrong with this store lately; it's going way downhill. It used to be basic and okay for drop-ins. But now, it's dirty, disorganized, and worst of all - the small animals for adoption there seem MISERABLE. It's a very unhappy shopping experience. I can't even stand to go in there anymore, even to grab some quick dry food. It's always been the least clean Petco I've ever shopped at; dusty everything. Lately though, it's dirty - which is a whole level of unclean beyond what is okay. And it smells this awful uncleaned-cages smell by the small animals or maybe it is a filthy-tank smell from the fish area. The chinchilla for example looked so sad, I almost broke down crying. I kinda want to say "if you want to adopt a small animal, please go rescue one of these" !! And the least of their new issues is a total lack of order to how they shelves things, and with no care given. I'm not sure what happened, but compared (for example) to the Petco at Marketplace, this place is a total dump now :( read more
