Just brought my Siberian Husky here for the first time, and WOW what a great experience!…read more My Coco girl had been dealing with a severe allergic reaction on her skin over the past few months. The reaction had opened up various lesions and sores on her back. These lesions had since scabbed over, and those scabs began to peel, causing a ton of dandruff and fur loss. This was causing major itching and discomfort for Coco. Our vet gave us a medicated shampoo to use for grooming, we just needed to find a groomer! After speaking with a couple different groomers, we landed on Hounds of Love! We explained the situation to them and asked for thorough yet gentle grooming due to her sensitive skin. They were GREAT listeners, and they were able to accommodate our special requests with absolutely no hassle. When we picked Coco up after about an hour and a half, she was calm, relaxed, and happy. But more importantly, she looked GREAT! Her fur is clean, and her skin is looking healthy and healing! The groomer even gave us some useful pointers on ways we could groom her at home without worrying about damaging her skin. I wish I remembered the particular groomer's name so I could give her credit, but the entire team at Hounds of Love is very nice and professional, and they do an INCREDIBLE job! We have found our regular groomer, and I cannot wait to bring Coco back once her skin heals completely! Thank you Hounds of Love!

After snoozing in my arms while Heather and I discussed the best cut for his lifestyle, he happily headed off for his haircut. I cannot even tell you how amazed I was when I picked him up. The cost of the adoption covers rabies/distemper shots, deworming, a flea treatment, and the placement of an RFID, as well as the usual spay/neuter. We had passed a farm earlier in the week with a sign, "Free Kittens"; it was only by doing the calculations of all the eventual costs that made it possible to resist.

This time, the service and attitude from the older volunteer staff was very rude and challenging. After we expressed which cat we're interested in and then said that she's bonded with another, so we would have to get both. They asked how many cats we have (understandable question), I replied the two brothers. My son has one (unrelated from the brothers) and will be moving out this summer. The older volunteer staff then stated, "well maybe you should wait and see what happens" with her attitude... What does that mean!? Who the hell are they to tell me what's best for my family! So we left with a disappointed wife. One thing is for sure, they did not like me asking questions about any treatments, diseases or medical conditions on record. The living conditions is subpar. It is filthy, smells horrible and I would question if there are too many animals inside that small building. Maybe the Human Society of Greater Niagara or Niagara SPCA or even the Town of Pendleton should be contacted to check on things...

My daughter fell in love with a cat this past weekend while we were donating food. I have owned cats for over 20 years and worked in the vet industry for over 6 years. I am appalled that they didn't trust us and left my daughter crying. To say we were approved and then to deny us when we showed up was absolutely cruel and they should be ashamed of themselves. This is not how a rescue operation should run and I will absolutely never support them again.

There is also an adoption fee, they need to cover costs. The sweet cat we adopted was in a foster home and clearly very well-cared for. Then I got to see the cats. The cat I was interested in was listed as gentle and loving. The gentleman who came to get her out of her cage had to call another staff to help him because he said she was "difficult". They let you interact with the cat you choose in a small room in the back. The room was crowded with random furniture and generally unpleasant. I understand that cats can be really nervous with strangers but there was no way to tell what her temperament might be in these surroundings. They offered to have the foster call me to talk more about her. Again, no call, no response. I'm guessing some of the people in there were probably volunteers but they didn't seem to know much about the cats in there (or much about cats in general). All in all it was a really disappointing experience. I ended up adopting from another agency.

I would absolutely NOT recommend taking your dog or husband to this business. Kristin May is a very untrustworthy human being. She doesn't care that your husband as a wife. She will think it's okay to text your husband and "get to know him" through out the day and late at night. She will lie to your face about knowing your husband and trying to talk to him. She did a solid job with Stevie, and I know Stevie felt safe (she didn't shake like she does when she's nervous). I give credit to any groomer. I'd be afraid to have scissors around my dog's face if I was holding them. If you're not looking for a perfect dog show cut, I recommend this place. It was really nice that I could bring Stevie to her house. She was willing to come to my place as well, but I figured it'd just be easier if I went there. Yvette has all the regular dog table and normal stuff that comes with any dog groomer. I would absolutely feel safe about bringing Stevie there again.
