Made reservation online. I called and left message to call me back as I had some questions prior to first appointment. Cristin a called me back and answered all of my questions. She took over three hours to groom my dog as he was quite "overgrown". She did a great job and the dog looked great. Good attention to detail. Work is done out of her renovated garage but the results were excellent. read more

I will never use another groomer. I had an extremely anxious small dog, and Cristin was the only groomer that treated her with respect and kindness. I would stand outside the door at pick-up time and hear the dog acting up- barking and yelping at her, but also hear Cristin speaking to her calmly and soothingly through it all. I will never go anywhere else. I have a long-haired calico ball of wiggly cat fur, and she was traumatized at petsmart. However, she left grey cottage with a lion cut and a smile - her first! They have the magic touch with cats, even aggressive ones. This groomer KNOWS what she is doing, and she has made such an impact in our lives with this one cut that I was near tears. Bella has been rescued from mats, many hairballs, heat, and irritation; I've been saved from cat tumbleweeds, hairballs, and flying hair EVERYWHERE. My cat always looks so handsome when he comes home from Grey Cottage and Kristen is so so sweet to him. My cat is a long hair domestic and loves to roll in the sun but hates to be brushed. It's a definite treat getting lion cuts or furminations here and well worth every penny! Dusty is a little aggressive, but the groomer is perfectly equipped to handle his difficult temperament. Kristin and the Grey Cottage groomers went above and beyond my expectations and my kitty has never looked so good! Mittens is a long haired kitty with seven toes on each paw and other groomers always miss a couple even after being told to look for them. She came back home so silky and looking just beautiful. I've been taking my dogs to The Grey Cottage for a number of years now, and highly recommend them for all your grooming needs. They had groomed my Newfoundland for years, and now my Mini Golden Doodle, and the greatest part is that they both love going to The Grey Cottage. They treat your pet as though it is their own. It is owner operated which means your pet always receives exceptional service, and you speak directly to the owner. I am always very pleased when I pick up my pups. I know they have been treated with T. L. C. which means everything to me. I have tried many pet groomers through the years and feel The Grey Cottage is by far the premium pet spa in the Rochester area. read more

Such a perfect hidden gem! I took my ragdoll cat there today and shes looking fabulous! Kristen and her partner were so friendly and gave my kitty lots of attention! I was also shocked it only took an hour for a whole bath blow out and trim! Ive been places that took 4-5 hours with my baby which I hated! I had my 2 cats groomed three times by Cristin. I selected her as a groomer after much research as she is a certified feline master groomer. I have a long haired cat that requires hygiene trims so I wanted someone who knows how to handle cats. Unfortunately, I had several issues with appointment scheduling. On our first visit she wasn't even home at the scheduled appointment time, but her husband assured me she was "on her way". I waited with my kitties in my car for 10 minutes until she showed up. Second and third visits were better, she was home when I arrived. But, she was still finishing up the previous pet being groomed on both occasions so my kitties waited in their carriers until she could get to them and I was contacted on my cell phone when they were ready to be picked up. My husband and I are both healthcare professionals with extremely busy schedules, so I was willing to overlook the obvious scheduling issues/overbooking that was occurring. However, on my most recent visit when I attempted to drop of my kitties at the scheduled time Cristin was inside "grabbing something to eat" I was told by her husband as he was in the process of grooming a dog. Her website does not mention any additional groomers at the Grey Cottage Pet Spa (I will give them the benefit of the doubt that her husband is properly trained in grooming cats and dogs). I was then told by Cristin that she did not have me on the schedule (despite my calling and leaving a voicemail regarding the appointment 4 days earlier and confirming with her assistant Ashley a month prior to the appointment- I still have the text messages on my phone). I was told I could leave my cats there for 3 hours and she would "get to them". I politely declined and was asked to come back in 1.5 hours. I ultimately will not be returning. I am a forgiving person, but this is too much for me to overlook. read more

The Grey Cottage is absolutely fantastic! I take my persian there whenever he needs grooming and I can't say enough good things about them! They are competitively priced and soooo caring and nice!
